We finally have our fourth and last DLC character for season 1, AKUMA... when the patch for season 2 has also dropped. As always, he's got a lot of moves and tools for every situation, but at the cost of lower life. This time, we're just getting to master all in one video and maybe hitting rank 1 as well in the leaderboard.
As always we include a short guide/tutorial at the beginning. It won't be complete with optimal combos, but should be enough to get you and me started in ranked matches. Then, we'll see how we do in our placement matches and try to place as high as we can in ranked!

Thank you for putting up this video. First you taught me how to play Juri and now Akuma. Understanding that light tatsu is the key piece to his combos really opened up my understanding of the character.

I've had the teleport into command grab go behind the opponent through some moves and grab punish, not sure on why the scenarion happens sometimes but there might be something there, if you set jamie to do qcb medium punch as a reversal if you do a jab into teleport command grab you'll go through the moves startup and punish with the grab, might be something to it, maybe as a read on drive rush button?

To maximize damage from 1 drive rush, I'm doing this combo that does 2973 damage: Standing Heavy Punch Cancel Drive Rush Standing Heavy Punch Viscera Piercer (Medium Punch, Medium Punch) Heavy Tatsumaki If I have Lvl 3 super art, I don't do the Heavy Tatsumaki - instead, I do Medium Adamant Flame into Lvl 3 (now the combo does 4841 damage) Could someone explain why I shouldn't be doing this? I ask this because at 7:35, Nephew mentions that you cash out on damage by doing any Super Art out of the Light Tatsumaki, but based on my testing, this is not the optimal route for dealing the most damage possible. If I want to do a Lvl 1 or Lvl 2 Super Art, I get more damage by doing that Super Art out of the Viscera Piercer in the combo I mentioned above.

@@jibbyfoob2 things, 1. light dp does all the damage possible of the move before canceling to level 3, while medium and heavy have other hits so the first one isn't as strong. 2. When you do the drive rush combo, if you can, try to drive rush foward hp into down hp, if you can't, do drive rush stand heavy into medium kick. That does less scaling so more damage. Add that with the light dp and you get between 100 and 500 more damage

@@bigjc5546 Hey thanks man, I appreciate the info - I've altered the combo so that it now does 3036 damage: Standing Heavy Punch Cancel Drive Rush Forward Heavy Punch Crouching Heavy Punch Heavy Tatsumaki However, I'm still getting more damage if I replace the Heavy Tatsumaki with Heavy Adamant Flame into Lvl 3 (4929 Damage) than I if replace it with Light Shoryuken into Lvl 3 (4741 Damage).

@@jibbyfoobi think they meant doing light tatsu > light dp (but that doesn't work midscreen) and then cancel into lvl3 super. Anyway, with that route you can cancel into lvl3 directly from H adamant flame if midscreen or link light dp after and then cancel into lvl3 if you're at the corner

Bronze 2? What's your highest ranked character? I got 4 wins with Gief and got thrown in Diamond 2. I think if you have Master ranked characters it takes that into account maybe

Question: How come you don’t DP after the light Tatsi combo? You use the sweep instead and I noticed Justin does as well? Just curious

His doesn’t link that way in 6. That’s why everyone uses the sweep or crouching kick move; it also gives you good okie. But the dp whiffs similar to like ken unless he uses certain ones I’m a Kenbro tho. So I can be way off on this

It tends to whiff if u hit it from relatively far and even if you're close enough to get the dp, having good oki midscreen and a safejump on the corner is usually better than doing ~500 more dmg That being said, i like to do the dp ending bc it feels great and the oki isn't that bad

I kinda half assed my placements .... got gold 5? BUT I've always enjoyed the slow long grind of getting to diamond. Did the same thing with Cammy and the reward of fighting through many fighters feels so much better to me. The process of learning my character and learning matchups is so much better to me. Akuma is fucking fun.... Im having slight trouble remembering my routes 😂 but I'll get there in a few days of practicing. I am ONCE AGAIN addicted to this shitty ass amazingly fun game 😂... Im in danger.

To be honest, if your focus is on combos because you know how to play the game, switch to classic. If you like modern more, try to find the combos yourself cause not many people will have videos on them. Good luck

Akuma hasn't been out for that long lol. He will get better with him. I've watched his SF6 videos and his online matches. He's really good in the game. Definitely he enjoys it more than SF5. Still have to go to combo lab and practice more.
