I LOVED the music in this game!!!

I was 8 when I got this game for NES. Seeing it to the end after 25 years gives me closure. But it also makes me realize it would've been impossible for me to beat it.

I owned this game when I was like 8. Had it for a good 5 years. Seven minutes into the video and this guy has already gotten further than me hahah. Hell of a soundtrack though!

I can't believe I legit beat this when I was a kid.

I remember playing this one a lot at a friends house (these days I have my own copy), for the longest I'd not get anywhere near the end of this game, but then one day it clicked with me. I got on a roll gathered clues and survived and finished the game and cleared my name, great detective point and click adventure, has a nice film noir feel to it for an NES game.

Man Kemco made some great music.

Interesting fact. The names in this game were actually taken from The Big Sleep with Humphrey Bogart and his wife, Laura Bacall. Martha Vickers was an actress in it, Sternwood was the name of the family being blackmailed, Joe Brody, even Marlowe in the beginning calls himself "Doghouse Riley" and makes a reference he is a boxer

I just bought this game "Deja Vu" at GameStop at my local Mall and GameStop was selling a lot of those classic Nintendo games and GameBoys and even with the whole Nintendo system for only a limited time. I decided to buy it while I was in there because it brought back some fond memories when I used to play it.

Deja Vu, Uninvited, Shadowgate, all great point and click nes games. Give them a USE if you haven't yet, it's worth it even though the interface is a tad clunky.

Brilliant game. Of the four MacVenture games, this one is my favorite by far. I just wish someone did a playthrough of the original macintosh version of the game without the commentary.

me and my friends actually beat this in the day's we were kids playing this on the nes. we also beat shadowgate as well. these were such good games to play

Yep, you got it. You have to have only certain items when you enter the police station in order to get the best ending. If you have contradictory evidence when you enter, the lawyer at the trial has a hard time getting a conviction. ~JagOfTroy

Also if the item is a file, note, etc. all you have to do is read it right there instead of taking it first it saves a lot of time, unless it's physical evidence lol.

Abit funny with the inventory - fx at the start when you clear the coat (where do you keep it, and why not just have all your things in the coat :p). But would be great if they remade these games.

Oh my god, finished this after endless hours behind the TV as a kid. But, this was the game where one might be eaten by an alligator in the sewer? And was there a way you could get the end graphics with the guy without the coat? I seem to remember this was the case...

I know that you don't got to take everything you see out of something else just to get an item. If you just open it while it's still in its space you can still get the item. 😀

This looks like a game i'd enjoy today, but as a 10 year old I probably wouldn't get it.

I just played through this game on my RetroDuo - is the combination on Note 4 just a red herring? The combination on Note 3 links to the office safe, but I couldn't find anything else that needs a password or combination :/ Reading it to the drunk & mugger did nothing :P This game gave lots of opportunity for unintended comedy! I emptied my wallet & tried to hand it to the mugger to fool him +I tried to open his shirt to take money from HIM! I attempted to make the bum wear Vickers' earrings haha, I gave the woman in the car with big bOObs the medicine that makes you feel pleasure, then at the mansion I tried to turn on the light in Sternwood's room to wake him up & tried feeding him his candy while he slept, I tried using the gag on him or his mistress but that didn't work either.. then I gave him some Medrezine - revenge!! Bwahaha I shot the mirror above Vickers to scare her when she wakes up, & I also tried to take a key to Sternwood's precious family plate! And I thought for sure the Dr's office had a window so I can sneak up from the killer in my office from behind! Oh well.

How does the detective know how to package capsules in a Jaansun capsule machine? I have to object that he knows how to compound with no prior knowledge. [How does he know what a safe dose is? You can't just hand-pack powder!]

I couldn't get rid of the GUN1, because the game won't let me! I guess you have to have as many items in the list as you can grab, in order to leave the unwanted items in the sewer. 🤷‍♀️

Even if your near the ending, Breifcase and throwing away all kinds of things in the sewer that you don't need, in order to beat the game, how rare is it, that you can usE the LiGHter to buRN-disinigrate, besides chewing the Gum and not knowing what to do with the sunglasses. Only very few people, in the Nintendo CLub, especiaLLy, that had a Nintendo Card or Nintendo DreW LiCense at all that were into Nintendo real - heavY, got to beat an interesting very very RaRE Ending after hitting the PoLice STatiON knowing feeling like your at the end. I got the rarest rarest sayings before seeing the TomBstOnE
