This game really has no need for an introduction since we are all familiar with the Castlevania series by now.
I tried to make this longplay as organized as possible whilst still having all routes and endings added onto the end.
It will playthrough as Syph up until you reach the castle where all paths converge before going back to play out Alucard's path, with the other split also added in before he reaches the converging point for his path aswell.
ENJOY! -

My brother bought this when it came out, he was a lot older than me and I used to stay up late watching him play. ( I’m 34). He’s dead now but this game and music reminds me of him and I watch a playthrough now and then. I could never beat this as a kid but got close. Happy memories, I’m glad to be an 80’s kid. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I have a near identical experience but it was with the original Castlevania and my brother. Our NES came with a strategy guide instead of Super Mario Bros. so we had to save up for a game to play on the NES. We got Castlevania. The 8-bit games will always have a soft spot in my heart for the fun and memories of my brother playing.

Ending stories: Each ending begins with these words... "Trevor made many sacrifices. The long fight is over. Dracula is dead and all other spirits are asleep." ...and ends with these words: "After this fight, the Belmont name shall be honored by all people." Alone: "In the shadows a person watches the castle fall. Trevor must go for now but he hopes someday he will get the respect that he deserves." With Grant: "Both feel their friendship has been stronger since they worked together to rid Wallachia city of evil. Grant will start to rebuild the destroyed areas of the city." With Sypha: "Syfa (sic), the Vampire Killer, has had a bad life, but since she met Trevor she is beginning to feel more comfortable with herself." With Alucard: "The battle was won by Trevor and Alucard but Alucard feels guilty because he killed his real father. Trevor realizes this as he stands there thinking about Alucard."

The animated hack series in USA of Castlevania is garbage though. Games are good but Americans just dont give a crap about learning about culture, mindset of people back in past like ancient Europe or what not. Just anything they touch is garbage usually. Japan atleast does their research, Europe problem is they add too much post modern mentality into old stuff they make. So i am not 100% fan of that either

I mean maybe there is exceptions like video games such as Prince of Persia or "Assassin's creed"(though Ubisoft is french.. and its partly fictional but based on real events) but its atleast more legit than whatever friggin Castlevania series did of TV series... but interms of whoever is in charge of TV series "atleast now atleast" its really bad post modern mentality and not how they thought or what their mentality was back then interms of realism. Save that for modern times from post modern times of 1970s and outwards or something

+Olivier Cadieux In fact, Tools had nothing to do with that part. I was just running as fast as possible through that part of the level and for some reason, I fell into a particular rhythmic pattern where I could catch the blocks as they fell, just jumping once I saw the sprite move up like it was on the block. If you play through this part yourself, you'll see it isn't too hard to do if you find the right timing. ~JagOfTroy

One of the best soundtracks of the NES era. The entire Castlevania series is full of soundtracks that are iconic. I could watch this all day. I loved this game, as frustrating as it was to beat. Yeah, I had a little bit of help from Game Genie, but still it was NOT easy. The jump mechanics were so frustrating. Can't tell you how many times I plunged to my death trying to make the simplest of jumps lol. That clock level was INSANE.

I know a man who once said this: "Can you imagine a video game starring Laura Branigan with Elphelt Valentine (Guilty Gear), Silene Rambert (Fighters' Impact aka Japanese VS.), and Leni Loud (The Loud House) as her partners in a Dracula's Curse style game? I'd pay big bucks to see that even though Laura Branigan's legacy should NOT be made for profit." Sounds interesting.

Another great game that really showcased the power of the NES. This was also sort of the turning point of a great series. While it managed to revert back to the classic feel of the first game, it also retained some of the elements of the second game, namely a bit more story added in throughout the game play and less linearity.

My absolute favorite Castlevania game of all time. Multiple paths, multiple helper characters to get you through the game, or you could even go at it with no helper. My friend had two copies of the game many years ago, so he gave me one of them as when I'd go to visit him, and we'd play video games, I'd always, and I mean ALWAYS go straight to this game. I once had all the passwords written down for every stage for 1st and second loop for every spirit helper in the game, that's how much time I put into it. Still have my cart today, and even have the Windows PC Castlevania and Contra collection, where this game is on it, along with CV1 and Simon's Quest, as well as Contra and Super C.
