When I retired from Virgin in 2001, I thought my Aviation career was over. Thanks to Net Jets, starting in the BBJ, and finishing in the G200, it was not. Great job, better than all the years I spent in the airlines.

If I were a young person starting out in aviation I would forget the airlines and set my sights on NetJets. It's the type of flying we all dreamed about when we first got our Private...Mace

Thanks for showing us what all goes into a transatlantic flight. We live in an era where it's commonplace to take an airliner across, but few people really understand what is involved. I have some GA experience, but this shows just what a completely different set of skills and requirements are involved in transatlantic crossings.

Willie, Thanks for leaving a comment. That means a lot to all of us who made this film. Concerning Mike Rowe, he was our first and only choice to narrate the film. He was a pleasure to work with. He's the "real deal" and type of person you would want as a neighbor. Concerning the Phenom 300, I think its the best light jet out there. I'm happy to report it is assembled 100% in Melbourne, Florida. That's lots of high paid jobs for the US. Thanks again for leaving a comment.

Dead Reckoning Thank you very much! Yeah, the economic collapse of ‘08 took many victims. But luckily for me, my Reserve squadron was activated for an 18 month stretch. Not too long after our deactivation I began flying 747’s. I’m now a B744/B748 captain and still a C-5M Super Galaxy pilot. In spite of a couple bumps here and there, it’s been a great career!

Thank you for your comment. I believe it is spot on. Yes, it was a promotional video for NetJets but, it was put together by NJ employees ( and paid for by them) to show our owners what we meant by “safety first”. Management was only made aware of it AFTER we had made the film. And, again, we appreciate your comments on the video quality, sound tract and narration. Jon (director and NJ Pilot) : Dan ( writer) ; Anthony ( music composer) and Mike (narrator) all came together to tell this little story out of a love for aviation. Your comments were greatly appreciated! Mace

I’ve two questions: 1. Why was the flight portion CYYR to BIKF filed at FL330 instead of using the higher altitudes the Phenom 300 can handle? (I’m guessing it had something to do with the jet-stream). And 2. Instead of using the route from YYR to KEF, why not fly YYT to TER? That would have saved at least two custom clearances and put the flight right into Portuguese territory.

Great questions. I'm not sure why ATC assigned FL 330 since we had filed for FL 450. We re-filed for FL450 and received FL 410. Concerning taking a southern route were were unable since that required HF radio which we did not have. Thanks for your interest!

First class cinematography and a great look inside the bizjet world. Two questions: Why outbound customs at Bangor to go to Goose Bay and Lisbon seems a strange headquarters for Netjets Europe (non-centralized)??
@deadreckoning7091
@deadreckoning7091 6 жыл бұрын
We had to clear so that customs could make sure the aircraft was approved for export outside the US. Portugal is NJ's operations center. Sales and marketing for NJE is in London. Thanks for watching the film and your interest!

Why do they say the Phenom 300 doesn't have LRNS? Don't the dual GPS-based FMS of the Phenom 300 count as the LRNS? An HF radio is also an option in the Phenom 300. Or the problem is that the Netjets Phenoms don't have them/not certified for that?

Really loved this...Netjets was the best job I ever had. I would suggest to the pilots, however, that they not use the palm of their hand to check the pitot tube on pre-flight...only use the back of one's hand to avoid a severe burn....assuming someone left the heat in the on position.
@deadreckoning7091

You are entirely correct! Been there done that while preflighting an Ultra. I had a burn on my palm in the perfect shape of a pitot tube! I should have learned from that but...(!) Mace

The pilots and controllers both had it right on the call sign. During filming the audio on the Garmin Virb camera "dropped out" on a portion of 2 legs so we used audio from our prior Atlantic flight. Blame it on "the magic of movie making" Ha!

Hello, any chance one could obtain the flight plans of the different legs flown (pending availabilty of course, otherwise the ones from mid-July's 'HW' delivery maybe) as I'm planning to do a similar delivery tour in the X-Plane flight simulator w/ the excellent Aerobask Phenom 300 addon. Any guidance would be highly appreciated, thank you very much! Also this is one of, if not the best aviation-themed documentaries I have seen in a long time, kudos!
