I think Netsky is a super talented producer, he makes great drum and bass and his tracks are quite tight, I love the summer vibes on this track but theres something about the lyric that sticks out like a sore thumb, the lyrics talk about going through rio with a girl but then the lyrics go 'Wherever she goes, I go, we roll, we go Flying over cities down to Rio, it's real Love that I feel, well nothing lasts forever But I'm down for the minute so just chill' it talks about nothing last forever and that hes down, it ruins the vibe of the track for me, the lyrics should be all positive when the track sounds so uplifting
@drewolfy
@drewolfy 8 жыл бұрын
"im down" is american slang for "i don't mind doing that" or "i agree with that". example: dude 1 - "you want to stop for lunch on our way back home?" dude 2 - "i'm down" minute is slang for "a while" not a short period, its a very vague slang term but usually is used to mean something much longer example: dude 1 - "woah! funny running into you here! I havent seen you since the halloween party!" dude 2 - "i know! its been a minute!" chill means relax in american slang. So those last two lines he's saying he is enjoying himself and living in the moment with their current romantic travel situation and he understands they cant do that forever/the excitement will fade but he's not worrying about that, he's enjoying their time flying around the world together so she should relax, not worry about the inevitable end of their fun, and enjoy the time they have. so it is a perfect summer song. its the same feeling of "well im going to be really bummed when fall rolls around and i cant have summer vacation fun anymore but instead of letting that ruin my summer ill just take advantage of the summer and live in the moment"

awesome video. I noticed he turns everything up super loud with utility to where its clipping and then turns the track way down on the mixer. As far as I know, the track won't actually clip in ableton, so there is no sound difference with him doing this, am i correct?
@kingprone7846
@kingprone7846 7 жыл бұрын
There is. The tracks will still clip in the plugin. Some plugins process in floating point so they will produce a nonclipping output above 0, although that will still have slightly reduced audio quality. The real reason why he sometimes clips is probably because he doesnt care and it ultimately doesnt matter that much if you clip here and there. Often you only clip for a a millisecond or so anyways as long as most of the signal doesnt...

Hey FM, I see a lot of the drums are in the red coming out of the Ableton Compressor, and then turned down on the track. Is this technique practical for all drum samples (specifically 808 and 909s) and all styles of music, or particularly with superior drummer and this bright style of DnB?
@DawnHub666
@DawnHub666 8 жыл бұрын
no idea if that is on purpose or not - to be honest, it prob doesnt clip, even hitting the red in the comp, coz of 32bit float - but also nice to clip the tops off drums , or he might not realise ' or he might not care

just my take on it but ive tried a fair few of the main softwares and own about 5 different daws if you wants hand on groovebox type DAW get a maschine, if you want creative possibilities with a sequencer aswell get ableton, Logics good for recording and arranging and a lot of people say it has a better sound engine (im not sure) like James said though, read around compare reviews / videos try demos and learn the fuck outta your chosen one, Abletons mine but i wanna get to the point where maschine is used to create the grooves then arrange and add the finishing touches in ableton!

How do producers keep so much stuff (audio tracks) audible and kinda clean. Everything should sound really squashy and cheesy, but you can still clearly hear the kick, snare and top melody. Is it the high compression that's doing the job?
@OfficialJoeMorris
@OfficialJoeMorris 8 жыл бұрын
they use alot of EQ and compress where needed, also using compression on groups is good as it pulls everything together. Mastering also uses compression to bring the track as a whole
@DawnHub666

yep, u EQ all the unnecessary parts of sound out, so u can put other EQed sounds there as well, also compressing limiting, reduces the dynamic range of sounds so u can fit more in .

Camel Phat. It's a drum processing plugin which rose to fame in the mid 2000s due to it's incredibly good sounding distortion when put on bass (as opposed to drums, but it sounds good on drums too). That lead to the producers eventually releasing a free version called Camel Crush which left out the LFO/EQ automations of the original plugin. It had also a volume automator built in which generated this non-sidechain pumping sound in a lot of house/trance records, before more mainstream volume automaters came along. It's probably the most used and pirated plugin in the industry but for some reason it was taken off market and there was never a new version of it.
