I already learned sooo much from your 2 videos, insane stuff man, thank you. Jesus christ that is a complex patch. And i wonder, because you are using all of these "randoms", is this because you would like to let it play for like 2 minutes, record it and sample it? or is it just for a demonstration in the video?

I quite like this thumbnail and the one you had in the previous vid, if I could make a suggestion it would be to make the text bigger (and bolder) and trying to fill out the space a little bit more, so it's even more eye catchy for people on the phone (but also the thumbnail size is smaller than it used to have been in general). Not only users will be more likely to clicky click, but the algorithmi itself might be more keen to promote it a bit more (Google is the power house of AI tech, we'd probably be surprise what kind of stuff it takes into consideration). You can always take inspiration from some of the popular channels, although there definitely are anomalies that defy the "standards" as well.
@Alckemy

Will keep that in mind:) most of my thumbnail s are definitely references from other videos lol

In terms of assigning the random modulators to different parametes, I see that you have set the rate to each the same amount, but are you then assigning them to paraemeters randomly, or are making it a little bit less random by using one for all the cutoffs, one for Q's, etc? Really love your channel mate
@Alckemy

Yes the parameters themselves are randomized but there’s a matter of taste involved

think outside of the box....-> i'm back at modulators (or unison channels ) fx canceling out each other= less predictable is my form of outside of a box. not 100 % reliable but it forces me to go other paths.but THAT is really up to personal choice and whether you need it or not(i get bored from using same structures). then again i'm only interested in the process of sound design rather than making whole tracks, so having reliable results may be more valuable in that case. but thumbs up for figuring out how to automate an eq as filter, phaseplant users are gonna love it.

Not sure if you have seen my comprehensive guide to neuro bass three but I’d definitely recommend it if you want advanced sound design stuff. This video was a fundamental concept :)
@faterix7737
@faterix7737 2 жыл бұрын
@@Alckemy nah that's known concepts/structures... not exploring. not saying tis bad. but i sometimes when i try to explore new stuff (let'S say 5-10% of the time, when is sound design). try things out which use completely other concepts, but have a theoretical chance of new soundscapes, new techniques or simply insights of what else is possible. even when i don't get the results i want (which often enough i do)... i learn sth about textures or my personal logic in trying to explore new things. also sometimes i fail ... but that's ok. it's not an experiment when you know it's gonna work. still gonna watch that video in detail when i get the time and am at result oriented work it maybe useful.

@@faterix7737 the whole point of it though isn’t really about structure… a starting formula sure, but then there are many places and times to jump off and do something something different. When you explore In sound design you usually start with a source and explore possibilities or try to recognize things you haven’t tried before, that’s what all of my content is about:)

I can't get over how expensive this synth is when you want the complete set of effects. Maybe you could do a comparison video with Serum? From what I can see, one of the major difference is the ability to stack multiple instances of the same effect, such as what you are doing with distortion and EQ, whereas Serum only gives you two of each.
@Alckemy
@Alckemy 2 жыл бұрын
It is expensive but you can use all the effects separately too, I’ll think about it although it’s not really a fair comparison:)
@lorez6063
@lorez6063 2 жыл бұрын
@@Alckemy That's actually more of an answer than you know. The fact that you feel Serum and Phaseplant are not on the same level, or a fair comparison, means that Phaseplant might be a necessary tool in my arsenal. Thanks very much. Really love your videos.

I think having the experience of serum lead up to this point, and also some super amazing advice from frequent that was so simple but made things click. Try everything in ways you normally wouldn’t expect- sound design doesn’t have any rules… except maybe throw a limiter at the end of the chain^^

@@Alckemy YES YES, I AGREE FULLY. IT'S NOT LIKE IM UNEXPIRIENCED OR ANYTHING COS IM MAKING MUSIC SINCE EARLY 2000, BUT THE UNCONVECIONAL APROACH / MODULAR WAY OF THE SYNTH MAKES ME 'CONFUSED' AND REQUIRE SOME 'RE-LEARNING'. IT'S LIKE 'HEY LET'S GO FOR A TRIP, BUT BUT YOURSELF EVERYTHING, AND BE YOUR OWN GUIDE' THING AND THAT'S BOTH EXCITING AND OVERWHELMING WITHOUT PRACTICE. I JUST USE PHASEPLANTS IN PLACES WHERE NORMAL SOUND DESIGN PROCESS IN TYPICAL SYNTHS WOULD FAIL ME OR I JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO ACHIEVE. I JUST CANT WAIT FOR THE MOMENT IT WILL CLICK IN ME COS THAT WILL BE MIND OPENING :D
