I'm planning to make a video about this, but haven't got it done yet... Basically it's best to varnish before stretching a print because it might crack around the edges where it bends as its folding together. You could also scuff the surface. But with a painting, you're probably OK to try to go ahead and stretch it without varnishing, just be careful not to slide it around too much on a rough surface where it would scuff. I'd put a blanket or something soft down on top of your table prior to stretching. I think you could still use a floating frame. It kind of depends on the frame and how you would be connecting it. L brackets with screws should work, every floating frame is a little different...

If you go on the breathing color website, there is a higher priced version of these stretcher bars that would work better for a larger canvases. The ones I show the video are the standard version, the ones for larger canvases are pro. They are more expensive, so I don’t use them for the smaller canvases. But if you’re doing something that large, you should definitely pay the extra money because it will be better.

Go to the link in the description, on the breathing color website there is a higher grade option of the stretch bars that come in much larger sizes. They probably have that size on there. I’ve never made one that big, but I’d check. If you have questions, you can also call the company. Links are in the description to breathing color.

I have, but it will not work with these stretcher bars. The adhesive on these bars will not permanently stick to their pre-varnished canvas. It will end up coming loose in places after a couple months (sometimes less). That's what it did when I tried it anyway...

I’m not sure what exact size you’re calculating, but the stretcher bars should not cost that much. if you look on the breathing color website, you can see that you have to order about 10 at a time, but the prices are around $10-15 each.

On the same website page that you buy the stretcher bars. There's a drop-down menu and you can buy the extra parts like the corner, brackets, glue, etc.

I bought the corner brackets from the drop down menu and they arrived and look nothing like yours. The website does not show photos of the product so unfortunately I only figured this out after it was delivered. Is there another site that sells the brackets or another name it goes by?

If they sent you corner brackets that don't fit the stretcher bars you purchased from them, I would contact them and ask to exchange them for you. They sell two different types of corner brackets. They are for the easy wrap standard and easy wrap pro. I use the easy wrap standard in the video, which is the thinner stretcher bar also more affordable. I'm not a representative of Breathing Color and I do not get anything from them, not even a commission, so I wish I could help more. I would call Breathing Color's customer service though, because I've shopped with them for years and I'm sure they'll help you figure this out and refund you/replace.@@sashafleary3765

I looked on Amazon and I found this stretcher bar, it looks like it will work in a very similar way as the ones I use in the video. Except they don't have corner brackets. They show you how to do it by measuring. I honestly don't think I would like that method much because it's not as quick. You have to measure everything out, but if you don't need the brackets, it's probably cheaper to get started...and they sell the frames one at a time (affiliate llnk) amzn.to/48afOY5

I'm assuming you're asking about the dots I applied with sharpie to the blank side of the canvas. Rewatch the video, you will see exactly how I added them! Better than I can explain in text. But I use the holes I poked through the canvas and colored in the other side with the sharpie to use as a guide to know where to mount the stretchers :)
