Sorry dear. Probably nothing wrong with the silk clothing items. However, it appears there is something wrong with the way you treat it.

My pointed toes don't get damaged at the toe, but I scratch the leather of the heel along the back because of how I sit in my desk chair at work, or in chairs at restaurants, or go down stairs. Stairs have done a lot of damage to my shoes. So I opt for a synthetic block heel on my boots. I also found that designer pumps are quite uncomfortable--I have a couple pairs by Ferragamo, some Jimmy Choos, and Stuart Weitzman, and they don't work for walking across large slightly pebbled parking lots. So I exclusively buy designer sandals now, and I have some Aquatalia boots and some Born Big On Comfort synthetic boots that I wear to work that are comfortable and are not as delicate. Not the ideal look, but it is just too dang upsetting to have a thousand dollar shoe damaged in a day.

Thanks for your honest opinion, great to see. As for the silk I agree with another person’s comment about washing it without a laundry bag. However I don’t wash silk on the wool program as that program usually soaks the items. Silk shouldn’t be soaked. I use the delicate cycle on my washer (either cold or max. 30 degrees C). The trick is not to use a high spin. Max. 400-800 and hang to dry immediately. I also highly recommend a housekeeper for ironing 🥹😂 I use a small suede brush to lift the pile, and a suede restoration spray for my suede shoes. Got both at my local cobbler. Make sure the suede spray is in the exact color of your shoes, and they’ll be as good as new. For patent leather I use a lacquer & patent leather cleanser/protector. And you can get a specific eraser (or use a regular school type eraser) to get rid of the marks. Hope you find the tips useful.

The reason your silk shirts came out wrinkled is that you did not run it on the gentle cycle. You want the shirts to come out of the wash wet, not rung out by fast spinning, so that the force of gravity as the water drips down the shirt will smooth the wrinkles out when you hang them. Or, if they are particularly delicate, you're supposed to roll the top and press it in a towel. The drying wrinkled is because of the washing machine setting, which can still damage the tops due to the force of spinning the water out. Also LilySilk products are low quality silk. They're a low end silk material company, just like your shirts by L'Agence, Veronica Beard, Alice & Olivia, etc. It is a very different experience from silk by a Ralph Lauren Collection, Brandon Maxwell, Escada, Max Mara, etc. Also I agree with a previous commenter that the reality is that you cannot work or even wear a backpack with silk. In fact most really high end stuff it is just not that durable and requires dry cleaning.

The points of pointed shoes are so hard to keep intact, the moment they r in the real world the chances of scuffing is extremely high 🤦🏻‍♀️. There really is no way to keep them prestine, I usually bring them to a cobbler to repair. Now I juat wear them as indoor shoes 🤣🤣 bring them to the office and that’s it. I noticed on a lot of influencers a lot of their tips are super worn. So it’s just not us 😂 I wish I could just enjoy the items like they do.

You can't work in silk. However detergent will cause it to fray BIG TIME. Use a clear non-sulfate shampoo on cold in a lingerie bag take it out lay them out on a towel to air dry. After they are dry Iron it inside out on the silk Iron setting put a smooth cloth over it when Ironing or steam the blouses.

Have you not thought about or used the specific cleaners for your items? There is a patent leather protector and also a specific patent leather cleaner! Also buy a good leather cleaner for your light color bags. Obviously test the cleaner on an inconspicuous spot first, but a good leather cleaner should work. Use soft clots and quips to spot clean.

i love silk tops! great for travelling as they are light, luxurious, airy & dry fast. (i prefer the simple causal T style for everyday wear) the style she chose has more details & hence requires higher maintenance.

I initially also threw my lilysilk tops into the washing machine in a mesh bag and they turned out crumpled like yours. Later on, I realised that changing the setting to delicate setting ("wool" on my LG washer) makes a huge difference to reduce the crumple and bring out the shine in the silks! Do try it!

I wash my Lilly silk shirts gently in cold water and baby shampoo by hands and hang them to dry !

Ok so it’s not the brands or items it’s just your lifestyle and the will to care for these items.

I suppose luxury goods aren't that good for everyday wear.

Perhaps you could consider wearing those damaged shirts as pajamas to get more use out of them

All you need to do with light color bags is to keep them away from jeans (unless they’re white jeans). I pair them with my normal fabric in dark colors and nothing ever happens
