It's recommended to remove the protective stickers because in warmer or more humid places, the plastic can break down and react, causing the metal to discolor unevenly. Not because they are afraid of you reselling it. Just bear in mind if you're worried about ruining your hardware. I personally remove the stickers immediately because I don't buy to resell, and I prefer not to baby material possessions, but to each their own! You can always get the hardware replaced after a few years at the bag spa when they get too scratched up.

I have the big boy Herbag 50 that I use as my travel duffel and if I overstuff it I literally have to use my knee and both hands to close it; for that reason I could never pull the trigger on the smaller ones, no matter how many times my lovely SA tries to steel me toward them. The only ones I would consider are 39cm special editions (yours is a beautiful combination btw) to carry my laptop into work on rainy days.

The gathered sack bag styles like the Chanel 22, just opening and closing is going to cause more wear and tear from the chain sliding on the leather. The wrinkles and gathers are going to wear out faster. It won’t last as long as other styles.

My pointed toes don't get damaged at the toe, but I scratch the leather of the heel along the back because of how I sit in my desk chair at work, or in chairs at restaurants, or go down stairs. Stairs have done a lot of damage to my shoes. So I opt for a synthetic block heel on my boots. I also found that designer pumps are quite uncomfortable--I have a couple pairs by Ferragamo, some Jimmy Choos, and Stuart Weitzman, and they don't work for walking across large slightly pebbled parking lots. So I exclusively buy designer sandals now, and I have some Aquatalia boots and some Born Big On Comfort synthetic boots that I wear to work that are comfortable and are not as delicate. Not the ideal look, but it is just too dang upsetting to have a thousand dollar shoe damaged in a day.

The reason your silk shirts came out wrinkled is that you did not run it on the gentle cycle. You want the shirts to come out of the wash wet, not rung out by fast spinning, so that the force of gravity as the water drips down the shirt will smooth the wrinkles out when you hang them. Or, if they are particularly delicate, you're supposed to roll the top and press it in a towel. The drying wrinkled is because of the washing machine setting, which can still damage the tops due to the force of spinning the water out. Also LilySilk products are low quality silk. They're a low end silk material company, just like your shirts by L'Agence, Veronica Beard, Alice & Olivia, etc. It is a very different experience from silk by a Ralph Lauren Collection, Brandon Maxwell, Escada, Max Mara, etc. Also I agree with a previous commenter that the reality is that you cannot work or even wear a backpack with silk. In fact most really high end stuff it is just not that durable and requires dry cleaning.

Great video! I think I will use your tally system to track my handbag usage. There is one LV bag on my radar, and has been for several months, but I don’t think I’ll get it. My priority at this point is to create experiences for my family. The cost of a luxury bag can easily equate to a family trip, and my kids won’t be young forever. If I have a functional gap in my wardrobe, I am filling it with contemporary pieces.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. I always travel via the Frankfurt Airport at least twice a year. If you say your items are in your check in, the customs officer before the immigrations will still ask you to see it. So you would not have skipped any steps had you said that. Sometimes I wear/ have used the items and they don’t mind that it’s not in the original packaging. I’m shocked that you say they send you to a random gate at the Berlin and Munich Airport. In Frankfurt the Global Blue counters are strategically placed before the check in (for those with items in their check in luggages) and immediately after the immigration ( for those with items in their hand carry) for each terminal. Unfortunately in theory you still have to show all the items especially if they’re designer. But there are times wherein I encounter officers who don’t check the items I bought from stores like Adidas. I hope you still get your refund!

You seem to have had quite the frustrating experience. However it is standard practice to get the custom stamp or clearance via automated kiosks either pre security for items in checked baggage and post security for carry-on items- at the last port of exit from the EU. Which would have been Munich in your case. Perhaps if you had handed your form to global blue it would’ve elimated the extra hassle

In germany airports, if u tell them ur purchases r in checked in luggage, u need to get ur boarding passes then show ur purchase n check the bags in through a separate counter which is meant for those passengers who need to show their purchases n keep inside their checked luggages. For example you wont be handcarrying a moncler jacket that is newly purchased or a rimova luggage that you need tax refund on. They still need to see ur purchases. So what we need to show receipts then the officer will randomly ask to see few things, u need to make sure all have their boxes n paperbags.. then after customs chk, we throw all boxes and put the items into the luggage n check it in. Ur bags need to already be tagged by airline.

This also happened to me 10 years ago when I was leaving the Munich airport. Had to go through security after speaking with the Global Blue prior to security. Showed the Vuitton to them after security to get the form stamped.
