Yes they add more shit so technicians take over regular mechanic jobs and so they can stick us. It also affects the seatbelt pretensions. It can be loose wire, corroded wiring, module, sensor...blah and blah...mine keeps turning on and off one in a while..2013 chevy sonic. I already know without going that a regular diagnostic or Chevy diagnostic tool cannot catch it. I have always have my right seat turned off since I never have a passenger and I have a button to turn the right side off. It's most likely I have corroded wiring. There is no need for them to touch the module as it would also affect the seatbelt pretensions and steering. So no need for them to replace the module if other problems are not oresent since it costs at least $500 plus labor only for module. People do your homework before going into any shop including and especially dealerships.

Correct. The air bag system is DISABLED when the light is on. It will NOT deploy the drivers air bag or passengers, till fixed properly. 👌😁

@@brendagomez8311 There is a yellow 2 wire connection, with a safety lock on it, under your feet / up under the dashboard a little ways, un hook that connection to be 100% sure it will not deploy, even accidentally.

@@Barabbas7798 yes and no. It's mainly for the driver seat, the light. If the passenger (s) not belted up, it would be a digital dash "occupancy" warning, not the same. Tesla's have it. It's annoying if you put tools or something just heavy enough in the right spot. 🤬

What does it mean when you begin to start your car, and only the airbag light comes on (for 5 secs - at most)? Which means no electrical current is coming to the battery?

My airbag light came on. It was a short or loose connector underneath the seat. I moved all the crap under there jiggle the wires problem solved.

Lol, the problem not solved, the connection just temporarily connected. You need to repair the connection points

Not too many of those penis cruisers around. Those cars have paid numerous mortgage payments. Not many techs like doing water pumps/head gasket on them, send em my way. Knock that shit out lick-a-dy split.

i put a waterbottle on it with 0 leak n it bugged it out i think the water fks with the electronics just by being on top of it/near not even water damage shts weird

Phillip... Is definitely more to the process that meets the eye. Is rather precise w weight, seat distance, height ect. Is the reason the system exists. Is it an overkill? Yes. Have ur child sit in the back seat. Problem solved. Also insurance companies had a say in this situation. They were tiered of paying out money for repairs on a single occupant driver accident. Again, alot more to the entire store than what it really is.
