"Never Heard From Again", 40 Years MISSING Mother Vanished with Car!

We search for Missing mother, Barbara Kettell Rushton in local ponds closest to here last know location with my custom built RC Sonar Boat. Thanks for watching and supporting us!
Rushton left her home on Old Forest Road in the Vestavia Hills neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama on August 29, 1984. She drove away in her white 1980 Volkswagen Rabbit, saying she was going to play cards with some friends. She never arrived there and has never been heard from again. Rushton's car has not been located.

All the different search groups should get together and upload a data base of what bodies of water have been searched in each state. It would save time for any follow up searches

I have been thinking the same thing! It would be nice to have everything in one place, easy to search for info. Put some security in place along with data managers and it would be awesome! 😀😀😀😀

No. One group might find someone - and the do - in a body of water some other group has allready searched. Nobodys perfect, these two guys might miss something another group could find.

@@rudolphbondefangerer5513 Your point has a lot of merit but this would give the other groups the ability to search the unsearched areas first and then double back on the previously searched ones.

Hey guys, maybe keep a set of long pants and sneakers in the truck as a back-up for when you're wearing shorts and flip-flops. It will spare your feet and legs when you have to walk thru the briars.😊 Great job hunting for this woman and all that you do!

I was just thinking that if a car went into a bogy area, would it be possible for the bog to eventually grow over it making it impossible to ever find it again? I've spent a little time on a bog and its amazing what they can reclaim over time.

Nice job guys. I think you're going to have to get some more information to proceed. Old maps, route's that weren't there 40 years ago. What the neighborhood looked like. Most of all, try to find out where she was going. The Little Buddy is definitely a useful piece of equipment. Keep up the good work guys. You will always be needed. This is sad, but try. In today's world it is going to get worse before it gets better. Love you both. God speed and be safe.

Hi, Adam and Jeremy. It looks like even just using BOB to search smaller areas, isn't as easy as one would think especially with having to make your way through the undergrowth. Good effort on this very old cold case. Thanks for sharing. Stay healthy and safe, you guys 👍

Hi . 40 years is a very long time to be missing . She could be close to home or even in another state . Not very much information about why she left home or her state of mind . Also all the years have definitely changed the landscape and waterways . Tough job to locate a car or remains after all this time. Good luck . Take care . Deborah 🇨🇦

Great search again guys must be frustrating as hell at times when there is not much to go off , and with such a small car if in the water how much could it have deteriorated and could be buried a couple of feet in silt too ,very hard to find but I’m sure if it’s in the water you will find it great effort thanks for sharing take care and all the best .ps. Hey guys forty years ago the water tables were really high. Lake st. clair one.of the big lakes in Michigan had dropped 20 feet since 1980s. Just saying, the pond might be shallow but might be hiding a car in the debris muck. I lived on a lake where the muck was 20 feet deep.

I did a lot of hiking through some fairly dense briar bogs. I made gators of different lengths to cover bare skin on my legs when in shorts. They are easy to make. I prefer zippers to Velcro. You might prefer carrying them because they are lightweight

Recently saw a video of a VW rabbit pulled from the water. I don't recall which of the diving teams recover it. They're pretty rare car and get like 60 mpg.

Question?.. Adam is there, anyway, you can put a small box in the corner of what's being scanned?.... It's fascinating seeing what's under the water and you never know a viewer might spot something you guys may have missed! You guys found a rectangle shaped thing on the bottom of one of those ponds. If most of the car was burried in silt after 40 years, and all that was sticking up was the top of that VW Rabbit, it would look like a rectangle. Maybe you better go back and check out that rectangle.

I would suggest to connecting the rc boat with a fishing line and use a reel and rod to bring it back within radio signal range.

I absolutely love that you’re focusing on a case that is almost forty years old. To think that I was just starting my sophomore year of high school when this woman went missing is almost unbelievable, but I know there’s cases even older than this one. I can’t imagine how hard this must be affecting her family. Are you aware of any group outings in 2024 where multiple search groups are going to get together to try to find missing loved ones? I feel as if there’s been a separation between the groups since the whole disaster that shall not be mentioned. The group efforts seemed to give such a momentum to such an ambitious important mission! Please stay in touch with each other, I have massive respect for all outside of one. Thank you as always for everything that you do, I have the utmost respect for your kindness, sacrifice and diligence!! P.S. Perhaps you should keep some extra shoes / pants in your vehicles in case you run into rough terrain? Along with some gloves, and a first aid kit? I truly want you to be able to continue your journey, and don’t want to see you injured in any manner 🤞

Yall gotta think a car underwater 40 years its going to sink in the mud at least 16 to 19 inches in bottom of Lake or river and that car maybe 5 foot tall it be at least 4foot on bottom sunk into mud

It looks like you scanned it but neither of you was watching the screen to see if anything was in there. Both of you didn’t seem motivated enough to even be there. Just my opinion
