Even if he was happy with Jo, it wasn't the same as with Izzie. I know this from experience. Even if you are happy, the ghost of a person you loved always be with you.

Chocolate Chocolate basically Alex remarries a girl named jo and it’s a great relationship and blah blah blah but then he finds out that izzie had his babies from when they saved there sperm and whatever. And then he leaves jo to go be with Izzie and his kids. But we never actually see izzie. It’s just flashes and quick scenes of his kids

And In the latest seasons, Karev was not himself anymore, he was in the background and he was nothing but Meredith's person and Jo's husband and in the last 8 episodes, he didn't even interact with Meredith at all until the trial happened and even then they barely spoke and some random scenes with the wife. And Izzie left because she went through hell with the brutal surgeries,the aggressive therapies,the loss of her best friend,the loss of her job and the fact that her husband was a total cave dweller who completely dismissed her depression only in the end to become a rat but she came back for him..Alex ghosted and he was lying to his wife for months only in the end to tell her that he is in love with another woman and dump her like a hot potato without giving her a choice at all and he never came back for her..Jo ghosted Alex and she stopped returning his calls and he didn't even know if she was alive only to come back and shut him down and treat him like crap..Meredith abandoned her husband in an opportunity of a lifetime and she never fought for her marriage until her husband gave up on his dream only to work under his sister's authority and be a miserable man and people still talk about Izzie??!! And the writers didn't give a shit about Jolex and for 10 years they kept mentioning Izzie because according to them Alex and Izzie are meant for one another. He was dying and he apologized and he wanted her back. George's mom came to the hospital and he started talking shit about him because he said that he reminded him of Izzie and it made him sad. He was with Jo and he compared his love for Izzie with Derek and Meredith's. He introduced himself to Jo's husband as Alex Stevens. Izzie's doppelganger gave birth to her baby and he was a total mess because he remembered their embryos and his dream to have a famliy with her. He didn't even stand to hear the word ''Seriously'' and then he imagined a whole life for her with every detail. In his second honeymoon with Jo, he talked about Izzie and her ramekins and Jo told him to stop talking about his ex. In season 12, Jo found about the eggs and he became angry and defensive and then she told him that ''his kids with Izzie were out there..'' And in his letters, he kept saying that he loves and that he chooses his wife and that the right thing is in Seattle but he never once said that he is in love with her. He said that he is in love with Izzie and that the perfect thing is in Kansas by having a family with her and that he is finally exactly where he should be. Full circle. And his character literally got his happy ending but Jolex Clowns want Alex dead or crazy because his happiness isn't with Jo who was treating him like shit for years anyway..Also, there is an interview with Camilla Luddington and she said that she asked the writers as to why Jo's character needed to know about Izzie's eggs in season 12 and then she said that she didn't receive an answer and that it could be potentially a big issue. The writers warned the fandom for years and my sympathies.

But on the other hand the writers had no choice since Justin didn't come back. They couldn't give Jolex or Merlex a proper goodbye scene 🤷🏼‍♀️ and so given by what they had to work with I like what they did and what they wrote:)

I honestly never really gave Jo a chance because I always held on to Izzex. But though I know that they were good for each other and that Jo really and honestly loved Alex and that she brought out the best in him. Just like Izzie before and also of course Bailey, Mer and Arizona. So even though some part of me disliked Jo just for being with Alex cause I always wanted him to be with Izzie, I know she deserves better than this now. Thank you so much for your compliment

There must be some really big disagreement occurred between Justin and the creative team of GA. It was shocking that he left the show in mid season. Also they gave him the worst send off out of all Grey's character after the huge character development for the last 15 years. I am sorry but I don't buy that he abandoned his wife in that way. No matter what that black sheep Krista has to say. This show really need to end now that only 3 original remaining besides they have worst story line coming up.

Mh K I don’t know if it’s true or not but I heard he left due to mental health issues. If so, I hope he gets the help he needs. I know first hand how that kind of issue can take over your life suddenly.
