I bought some of these for my board but haven't even had to use them. Respect the pushback and you should be good.

Andrew Conner right. Not something I want to have to use. But if it saves me from more rash I’m good. The handle on the front is worth the price

@@SuperCleary Yeah I'm glad I added them. I was just expecting to actually have to use them cause I bought them before I even stepped foot on a one wheel and wasn't sure what to expect. I watched a lot of videos and seen a lot of nose dive so I was thinking nosedives would be a lot harder to avoid. Another good thing about them is it'll increase the resale value in case I ever want to sale it in eBay.

Andrew Conner for sure. If you read the internet these things sound like death machines. It’s only after using it and realized every case of nose diving is always started with... “well i know I was going too fast and ignoring pushback, but...”

I ordered these fangs, and installed just fine. Thankfully I never had to use them yet. Hopefully I never have to. What I don't get is why aren't the wheels preinstalled in the bumper? That's my only gripe with the product really.

Oh I think it’s just so they are user replaceable if they grind down or the bearings rust

Because if they did future motion would have to admit that nose dives are a thing, and that would not be good for sales

Nose dives are 100% a user error. They are also explained the first time you open the app and get on the board. As long as you understand pushback you’re good.

If FM installed or gave you an option then it wouldn’t be called a onewheel anymore. They back themselves into a corner by naming it a onewheel and they will never make a product that undermines that.

Dude thanks a lot to all your tips, I’m roughly 2 months in with my brand new pint X (first time rider here) I’ve had a few situations already but not fully nosedives, I’m terrified of that happening, I’ll consider getting this upgrade. New Si river here… float on dude!

@@SuperCleary Or accelerate too hard uphill. My first nosedive happened last night and I wasn't going very fast at all, only about 10mph, no pushback either, but it happened because I accelerated too hard going slightly uphill. Slammed pretty hard and I'm definitely sore today, and I also ordered some fangs today. 160 miles on my Pint X and still very much in the "still learning" phase.

Ordered fangs... Went from 16mph to a full sprint and my legs and ankles hurt so bad now. Really wish i had the fangs yesterday. Only had my XR for a week and i was pushin the speed at 10 percent battery majorly bad idea..

Well I’m glad you’ve identified all the bad decisions so I don’t have to lol. Glad you’re not too beat up. Onewheels just aren’t about pushing speed or battery. Enjoy the ride!

Looks cool but wheels are too small. 90% of the time the won't save you. I know from experience. Go with something bigger.

Just bought the Fangs...$146 after shipping and tax. Not cheap (actually kinda pricey) but good investment if you ever really need them. Give me maybe a couple seconds to correct or recover or prepare for the endo. Does changing out front fender with the Fangs void the warranty? Will OW still work on it...do you know?

coming from an e-board i dont really understand the pushback.. i never had a problem with speed where i hit 50kph. the speed limit is already kinda slow in onewheel and potential nosedive doesnt sound fun at all

@@SuperCleary i dont understand why is there a such a thing that board tells you i will face plant you. thats super bad design flaw. if thats a hardware limitation then its prob ok but it still does not justify the fact that you can literally faceplant if you miss the signs given by onewheel

@@SuperCleary and you mean different how? they use the same general idea only different thing is throttle and brakes are handled by inputs coming from DOF not by a remote thats the only different thing from the electronics perspective.

@@orhanyor onewheel uses just one wheel, as the name suggests. Unlike a skateboard with multiple wheels, it needs to balance all the time, if that’s what you meant. The motor can’t keep accelerating forever, and the tiltback is there to let you know you’re at max speed and to not push any more forward, or you’ll end up going faster than the board, and falling. Without the tiltback you wouldn’t know you’re going max speed until it suddenly gives out under your feet.

I had to trim a bit of my float plate to get enough clearance for the fangs to roll freely, otherwise the plate was getting the majority of contact.

Weird at that was a pint float plate you had?

SuperClearyPhoto yes it was made for a pint. It technically worked, but after a trim the wheels contact and roll more freely.

Did you install the washers that were included with the screws on your fangs to mitigate the rattle?

Yup. They’re on. I haven’t had a chance to take off the bumper and tighten. The instructions said to not over tighten so I didn’t want to go overboard

@@SuperCleary I installed mine and so far I haven't had any noticeable rattle at 17 psi. I also ride with the fender off.

Are Fangs for the Pint compatible with a float pate I have installed from The Float life? Looks like your board has a float plate and fangs installed, which I heard was not possible, but i hope it is!

Yes I had no problem installing and it just used the float plate hardware.

It works with the float plate but some people ...like me have sort of cut and sanded down the front of the float plate to make sure it really doesn’t have a problem of scraping before the fang wheels

Had a nosedive yesterday, with fangs on my xr. I was going 22mph, and the fangs did nothing to prevent the crash. Way to fast to run it off, and I didn’t feel the push back. May be different on the pint, or going uphill. For xr owners who love going fast, fangs will not save you.

Fangs should never be thought of as a nose dive preventer. They can’t prevent a nose dive, or the subsequent crash. They MIGHT be able to give you a split second to react....or they might not.

Yup incline is the most dangerous time because the stop is that much more abrupt

It looks like you have the Float Plate and Fangs both attached. So I assume they both fit ok together?

@@fazer2747 yup I’ve loved it. After discovering float plates I can’t really imagine not having them. The fangs are great if for no other reason than the handle.

Yes it’s pretty nuts. It’s a complex of more than 100 buildings that were a psychiatric hospital from the 60s-90s

@@rubiconoutdoors3492 I have a pint so I don't have custom shaping but just be careful on acceleration because xrs dip their nose down before going level and I've had friends nose dive that way
