I feel like white can play c4 at 8:27. Black cant take en passant because the knight would hang, so he has to move the queen. After that, white just starts pushing his pawns on the queenside utilizing his rooks with very little chance for black to bounce back. I'm not sure about it, im 100 points lower rated than Antonio so please correct me if I'm wrong.
@faznaz7455
@faznaz7455 7 ай бұрын
C4 is a good choice but your explanation is not the reason why it’s so good. With your idea, c4 is not required but it’s one of many great moves to build up on the Queenside and black’s position is so passive that white can make moves in any order. However there is a huge positional threat that simply wins on the spot. After c4 Qd8, white manages to get the knight on d6 via Nb7 to attack Queen. Once Nd6 happens, black is paralysed and they cannot open position without seriously weakening the king therefore Qd2 Qb2 and Qxd4 for white winning that central pawn is unstoppable. After that Black’s position will collapse easily.

@Jimbatron
@Jimbatron 7 ай бұрын
At 14:13 is there a reason why he didn’t push a4 and then b5? Although the d6 pawn looks dangerous he massively outnumbered your pawns on the Queen side and it looks unstoppable if the queens and rooks are traded off. I think at the end the pressure may have got him knowing who he was playing.
