Oh boy, I just thought of a mistake I made... I forgot to change the offhand artifact power to aimed strike/shot... That ANOTHER boost of dmg on top! (was still using the warden bonus which doesn't do anything for this build). This build is looking very juicy :-)

Great News! And awesome build! My first character ever was a trapper. I recently started playing again and was sad that he wasn't viable, but now when the next mod drops I can go back to my favorite character!!!

I love this video, thank you for this effort yet again. Question, do our debuffs stack with the debuff from other classes? Someone a while back had mentioned that many of the class debuffs override each other and do not stack. Whatever the answer is, thank you again.

All I know is that this debuff does not stack if multiple players use it (commanding shot). I'm not aware of any other instance/party wide debuffs, I think the MoF one was removed...

Oh thats the potion of sharpness from the AI campaign. It gives 3% more dmg (overwrites the forger's box/adorable pet/chain)

Honestly. It is a bit rough. What i've done is spend 10 minutes a day learning it. I think at this point on ps4 i can pull the rotation off at least 70% of the time without using the wrong power or wrong atwill but obviously there is a bit of room for error.

@@crunchevo8974 I've been working with it diligently every day. Yesterday in 1 LoMM i was hitting the rotation pretty seemlessly and in another I don't think I hit it correctly once. Same with IC... But man when it hits!!!!

I recently made my first ranger after 5 years, i'm loving it and it's perfect timing with these boosts. I wonder though, in the description you have written as first thing to do "careful attack" what is this and where do I find it? I've read through all my ranger skills both in melee and ranged stance and can't find it? Thank you!

Have you tested Predator vs Biting Snares and is it really better because that 10% outgoing damage sounds more viable that 1% ap gain.

Im just using vorpal still. Vorpal is more potent on the hunter in comparison with the warden because the hunter doesnt have skirmisher's gambit

It's the stealer of the star's hides. Drops from the zok box or from the master expedition quest turnin (get all magic relics!)

As of right now from what I see when I run tomm DC and wizards are the top dogs with rogues pushing 3rd but it’s all about rotation skill at the end of the day honestly.

This is the best 1st ranger build for a trial imho, but there are some more dps focused ranger builds that do a lot more personal damage, swapping out commanding for longstrider. If you have more than one ranger in the group the others can go dps.

I see it critically that they almost make other classes stronger but the incoming healing bonus and the healers getting nerfed. I'm curious when it drops on xbox how that works . Hope you are doing well:)

Healers were a bit on the strong side though, so in my opnion its ok to tune that down a bit. Doing well thanks :-) Hope you're ok too

Now healers really have to focus on the tank/ person that needs the most healing at that moment. Cant just spam AOE heals at everyone. But it hits on the 28th for both Xbox and ps4

I use it for both indeed, although it's not optimized for AoE. I still do very good damage in AoE though, but it's even more work that single target :-)

I understand you can switch loadouts but I don't have the ad to acquire 4 more radiant for my mele build at the moment. So would you say this build is only viable for single target if so I might stick to mele until I can get 4 more rad enchants

Hello. ty for sharing this. I was wondering how much is your crit sev (unbuffed) with trapper build. I had 125 crit sev with warden and only 103 with trapper. Almost same gear, same boons, same companions, same insignia. Just wondering if this path really has lower crit sev or I am doing something wrong.

Hunter is better than melee, but not sure if it will be better than cleric/barbarian. Haven't tested it in its final form :)

Questions: why with my Hr my aimed shot do 302k damage and sometime( i think it’s a bug) i do close to 600k damage with one hit, with the double tab in every shot, hr full cap with no lion weapon, 223k P in combat

Hmm good question.. i assume its not crit and non crit right? Also if you hit twice quickly in a row the game will add the numbers

Rainer it’s a crit shot, and no idk how, test your self, you gonna hit 500k + nowhere sometime, maybe a visuel bug with the tab spam but, with the ACT they show 500k+ damage(Max Hit), so it’s a true damage

Trapper is better for endgame content yea, but it's a lot more intense as a playstyle. Warden is still very very viable for every content and much easier to play :-)

Is the encoded dps the average for one perfect rotation? Or is it like a minute of perfect rotation?

encoded dps takes ongoing dmg (start moment until end). If theres a gap of more than 10 seconds inbetween dmg that time is taken out of the equation.

You can get it from tales of old, which is an event that happens a couple times per year (sometimes called the great retelling). Other than that you cannot get it at the moment.

Predator has an internal cooldown... I've tested it and damage wise it's the same... but biting snares leads to A LOT more AP available

Of course it's all rank 15s... but rank 15 enchantments are just for power/HP, so you dont need it per se... Will share the file soon!

@@RainerNW tested it extensively and confirm tha you can basically remove the last Aimed Shot. My main issue is on AP generation. I'm just shy of 25% AP on a full rotation. Is that your experience too and you cover it by using an artifact (say Envenomed Storyteller's Book) or do you actually get 25% AP per rotation? Many thanks!

So I checked AoE, and I think it's also better than warden.... clear the ground is fun and all... But... Roots for days! I have no issues at all in Avernus clearing any mob groups including groups with elite mobs

No it's not back. ●The encounters don't reset like back in mod15. ●The roots don't have enough damage support from the feats like they had in mod15. ●The roots don't last as long ●Plant Growth has extremely low magnitude. ●The encounter recharge speed only triggers on root in stead of on encounter & daily use, like back in mod15. ●Roots use to stack each root DoT independent from eachother. 3 DoT were applied in total back in mod15 Root DoT overriding eachother is useless. The whole point of Trapper was to NOT have to use At-Wills !!!! All Rangers want the mod15 paragon paths back exactly as they use to be! Trapper was also king of AoE. A single target build is meh. So NO! Stop lying! It's not back!

The roots do a TON of damage though. It's not exactly the same - it's actually a lot more complicated... With trapper I mean a stance switching build... and if you don't call this a stance switching build then I don't know anymore ;-)

Agree with this - plant growth is still nerfed into the ground and this feels more like an archer build just stance switch for buff not for melee powers

But are you saying plant growth = trapper?! I thought trapper revolves around using grasping roots (to "trap" enemies)... and this build uses grasping roots all. the. time.

Yes, what has plant groth to do with trapper? Just let go of the things like they were in mod15. No class will ever be like it was before mod16. IMO this build feels like playing trapper again just with more thaught to it. I got to 354k dps at most though, can you share your act file for comparison Rainer?

Will this Trapper Warden rotation going to do better dps than the "flurry" mechanic skill rotation in Hunter? U didnt mention if this tutorial is going to replace the current best skill rotation for Rangers. Or is this Trapper Warden rotation only good for Zariel and Halaster to keep all dps buffed with the 10% dmg from Commanding Shot?

This trapper hunter will do much better in trials than the warden melee with flurry. In dungeons they are pretty similar, but extracting similar damage is more difficult in AoE situations. I run trapper now everywhere.

@@RainerNW wow thx Rainer.. i guess im going to be following ur transition :D Many thx for this kind of work u do for us :) Tho im kinda having a hard time in AoE like do i follow thesame rotation with mobs?? its like we cant get to mobs fast enough now coz of the replaced skills. Can u make a video how to run this skill with mobs tho?

@@RainerNW in AoE situations I'm using Constrictive, Cordon and Hindering. Seems to work better. Single target your rotation is perfect.

How have you adapted to the changes for healers from a DPS POV?

Let's see, I've removed my tacticals and... that's it? Make sure to stay out of the red and there isnt much of an issue with the healing changes. The healing changes just mean that DPS can't face-tank everything anymore
