Bums me out I have such a bad ankle that I cant ride hard boots! I have a HOT alpine board just chilling at my house that I cant ride so I have to live vicariously though you guys who get to carve like this! I do a good job on my all mountain board, but cant lay out that far! You're a rare breed on the mountain!

Hi..You talk about the position on the snow board...A lot of people dont' know they should be using "Canter"blocks under bindings for the ultimate position. ....Is there a tutorial about that?....
@ngufra
@ngufra Жыл бұрын
I have been using cant disks between the board and the binding on the rear leg since my first board in 35 years ago. It helps to get the rear knee inside. You also need to make sure your angles are aggressive enough: you don't want to be perpendicular to the board (look at the skwal for example)

Nevin seems to be a cool dude given all the achievements. "Hips - knees - hips - knees" is the best part here - much more useful advice than it sounds. But pumping the board to gain speed seems sort of opposite to the reality, sorry. Lateral load in turn makes it cutting sharper, increasing friction and changing trajectory more aggressively, hence losing the speed.
@giovannispinotti
@giovannispinotti 4 жыл бұрын
Racing boards are cambered and very rigid. Camber makes the board spring load in the turn so that when you unload and prepare for the next turn the board will spring back and push you out of the turn. Don't know if it will actually physically make you faster out of the turn, but the boarder really feels the acceleration from the board uncoiling and it will help you turn to the other edge way faster.

nice Video for Raceboard-Students to see how a pro drives, but not so sure about the gaining speed thru corners-thing unless you have a jetpack on 😉

He is gaining speed through turns, at least not slowing down compared to skidded turns. More open the turn, faster he will go.

Thank for the video. However the commentator got the coach advice wrong. The angulation is NOT the angle between the board and the snow, but between the lower and upper body of the rider.

Summary of the video: short turns in steeper terrain (to slow down ) and longer turns to gain some speed. So useless advice . I hope in more ... and those turns are called open to gain more speed ...
