In many ways this faster, more powerful, more aggressive and more expensive A110 is the incarnation of Alpine’s iconic mid-engined two-seat sports car we’ve been waiting for all along. Because if there was a criticism of the original ‘new’ A110, it was that it lacked a bit of oomph in a straight line.

If you do the sums you will find that a Pure with (as close as possible) all the options the A110S has is about £3500 cheaper (speccing both with Fuchs wheels). So that's how much the power, wider tyres and different suspension cost you.

Is it fair to make any comparison to the Lotus Exige Sport 350 or 380?
@johnclucas1523
@johnclucas1523 4 жыл бұрын
In a word NO. You can't really consider an Exige as a daily. Great weekend hoon car/trackday warrier but too impractical and too noisy to be a daily (at least a sensible one). There is a big gap in price too. Sure the headline figure for the 350 is similar to the 110S but add in aircon, soundproofing, trim etc and it's going to cost a lot more - and a 380 really is in a different price bracket. An Evora is, from a practicality point of view, a realistic alternative - but not from a price point of view.

I got enough luggage in for 3 weeks in Europe with space to spare. Sure the boots are not the most convenient size or shape, but you can get a lot in. They surely won't put front splitters and rear wing on this one, cause this would ruin the aesthetics. And this car is all about the aesthetics of the original model.

Things are certainly going to get interesting when the new C8 Corvette comes out. Not saying these two are the same (although I prefer the look of this over the C8 and the Cayman) but they're in the same ball park price-wise. Then there's the Supra. Yeah, this segment has suddenly opened up, and Alpine have just raised the stakes further. Cool.
@lensoprezole5322
@lensoprezole5322 4 жыл бұрын
In europe the C8 corvette will cost at least 95 000 euros. In France that's the base price for a brand new 'vette at the official dealership. That's very far from the 59,900 claimed by chevrolet in the USA. The only competitor to the A110 is the Cayman and it weighs 300 Kilos more !

@@lensoprezole5322 in America and outside of Europe, European cars cost more, if they're sold at all. So what?
@TheSkyline35

@@lapamful But the A110 isn't sold in USA, and it's where the C8 is cheap. Honestly for the same amout of money, I would go for a C8, especially if a Manual gearbox exist. But the reality is that the C8 cost close to twice as much to buy here in France, the maintenance will be a loooot higher, and the car receive a nice 12.000€ tax for being heavy on C02. Not easy to be a car enthusiast sadly.
@lapamful
@lapamful 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheSkyline35 I hear ya. Totally agree, yes the C8 makes more sense if you live in the US. But although they won't get the A110 in America, they do have other cars like muscle cars. But unless you've seen and driven the roads we have in Britain, France etc. I don't think you'd understand a car like the A110. American roads are big, wide and very straight. The only place I know that comes close to European roads in America is Mullholland Drive, near where Matt Farah did all his One Take reviews. But as for the Co2 tax in France, take a look at my playlist on my chanel called Exposing the Climate Alarmists, as a car enthusiast I think you'll find it interesting. As a voter, we all need to share this information and show everyone what a scam the global warming lie is. Merci!

@TheSkyline35 4 жыл бұрын
@@lapamful Well, the A110 is made for nice twisty European road, especially...the Alps, as the name of the brand suggest. A C8 and a A110 can't really be compared, truly different philosophies. But the Alpine is selling extremely well in Europe for a sport car, better than a Cayman, nice to see such a car being appreciated. For the C02 and all of that, I saw your videos, but I do think we have to change the way our society works, relying fully on a limited resource like Petrol is a bad idea, and even if you don't trust the climate change, we can't deny that car emissions are bad for human health, especially in crowed cities.

@@devilgames2217 Very different animals. An A110 is easy to live with as a daily (perhaps the S a bit less so), quiet (when you want it to be), comfortable easy to get in and out and practical enough. I really like the Elise - but it's a weekend toy by comparison.
