Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time KZfaqr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. UPDATES: 1. The concealer stayed put all day...it's VERY long lasting and didn't crease. I love the fuller coverage and how brightening it is! But by the end of the night it did look like it settled into my fine lines a little bit, so that was one negative. I will try setting it or using a little bit less to see if I can get it to not settle after a few hours. 2. The mascara didn't smudge or flake under my eyes which was great! :) 3. My eyeshadow is a new palette that I can't talk about yet. I filmed this with the intention of sharing it because I thought it was launching on the day I posted this video but I had the date wrong so I had to cut it out of the video. Stay tuned because it's coming VERY soon (hint...you may want to follow Doll10 on IG to know when it launches. It's an amazing palette!!) 4. The lip balms wore about like a typical lip balm would...it wears off pretty quickly and stays comfortable for as long as it's on.

How would you compare it to the Light Illusion? That one works fairly well for me. I’m dry skinned but have a normal to oily undereye, so curious how this one would work and might have to try it!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who applies foundation using their fingers! IMO it's the rare foundation that looks better applied with a brush or a sponge.

I was told years ago that sponges absorbed too much of the product, so I've never used them.

Have you ever tried applying your contour closer to your ear? Not that there's anything wrong with how you do it. I just wondered. I go from where my ear attaches to the head to a couple inches down my cheek and like higher up on my cheekbones instead of under it. I think it gives a more contoured, lifted look. Like instead of accentuating the natural contours of my face I'm making it seem like I have higher cheekbones and a slightly slimmer face. Either way yours looked good. Just thought I could maybe give you another way to try. Love you Jen!!!

Thanks Christy! I haven't tried it that way but I'm intrigued! I always read to put it under the cheekbones in that hollow space but I like the sound of the way you mentioned because putting it higher up seems like it would create more lift! 🥰

Hey Jen. I saw a beauty hack that you might be interested in. If you run out of colour corrector you can draw some peach lip liner on the back of your hand then mix some concealer with it. Every time I see a new beauty hack I think of you! 😅💕

I always put foundation on with my hands and then smooth it with a damp sponge, and then if I need to build in certain areas, I use a sponge, I have never liked a brush for foundation, I feel like it cakes it in too much, at least for me, plus I do not mind washing my hands, keeps everything sanitary.

Same. I have brushes and sponges galore, and I still use my fingers. I think I get the best result. Also, I still use sponge tip applicators to apply eyeshadow. I always get compliments on my makeup, but once I say I use sponge tip applicators I get gasps like I kicked a puppy or something.

I loved the original Warrior Princess mascara, so this will be interesting to try. With my oily skin, I am very particular in how I want my primer to feel and work with my skin, if I see the matte primer in store I might pick it up, to see how it works. I have always applied my foundation with my fingers to my face and then use a brush or sponge to blend it all over. I feel like if I'm putting the foundation on the brush or sponge, I don't get the easy application like I do with my fingers. Thanks for sharing that you use your finger to apply foundation also.

Me too , and setting a concealer is a hard No for me! It just makes my under eyes look older . Only concealer that I really had any luck with is from IT cosmetics .

This was great, Jen. I've always been a fan of Flower Beauty makeup, their lipstick in "Autumn Rose" is my favorite formula and shade of all time, out of any brand I've ever used. 6:06 I felt the same way, until someone else was talking about residual makeup on your fingers that gets on other things unless you're cleaning your hands immediately after application. So I tried a brush... I'm a convert! I like clean hands and using the brush. With most foundations you use less product with a brush and you get more even application. You just need to be sure to clean your brushes along with eyeshadow brushes.

Everytime I use my fingers for foundation I love the way it looks, on vacay or if I do quick make-up I use my fingers. I use them alot for my eye makeup tho nothing makes the shimmer pop like your finger. I love your videos I miss flower I don't use it as much since it stop being in Walmart. These might be worth ordering I've been wanting to try the CT one forever, currently use the elf or makeup revolution cream bronzer.

This hair tone and color looks great on you! Definitely an all time favorite. Have you considered microblading your eyebrows? I got mine done in September and it's been life changing. While I enjoy the process of filling them in and miss the additional hands on play at times, nothing compares to how aesthetically pleasing they look the first moment I wake up and look in the mirror.
