Nice looking, if a bit too Trident. Great to have new alternatives to ponder and consider but without a standout motor you’d have to be pretty determined to be different or particularly price sensitive to go for one. What you would get I’m sure is an enjoyable ride and interest from others wanting to know about it.

I really wish they would opt for a v-twin and maybe even aim for a smaller engine size for beginners like a 350-500 sized v-twin like the old morini 3 and 1/2 twins… that would add something rlly unique to the A2 sized segment

This needed to be under 180 kilos fully fuelled. Plus a 17 inch front wheel on the road-focused version (with the appropriate chassis changes to accommodate it). I really like the looks, but with these specs I'd rather get a Fantic Caballero, lighter is always better!

I had a Moto Morini 350 in 1979. I like the scrambler looks. Not sure if they will be available in the USA. Wanted to love the Trident but the riding position and suspension didn’t work for my beat up old body. The suspension on the Morini looks like it could work for me. Ron

yea the issue is some outright refuse or simply ignore warranty claims ...had that with my Mondial...fucking company simply wouldnt pay me a new coil/sparkplug on my brand new 125cc bike. R&D in italy doesnt mean shit when they produce in China with hardly any Quality Controll/Assurance. Bike can be hot as hell but i wanna ride it not look at it when its at the garage or mechanic.

@@evoermine …on 12th of this month I’m doing a 200 mile round trip for the 15k service at Cooperb (who are excellent), having had patchy service locally, that always includes return trips as the part that’s needed is never stocked by the dealership. I’m 4 years in, it’s been this way the whole time. There’s an RE importer in the UK, but not really a hill of parts here… honestly some of the garages rely on ordering in bits from Hitchcocks rather than RE. Crazy considering RE has an R&D facility here.

Nice bikes but why are they so heavy? It seems that most Chinese (and Indian) made bikes are 30kg heavier than their nearest rivals. It's not due to the engine, as that is a Kawasaki lump in this case
@chrispekel5709
@chrispekel5709 Жыл бұрын
I think they use lesser quality metals in things like the wheels which need to be heavier to have the same strength. Also, as these are an older design (they are based on the kawasaki platform from mid 2000's) they need a really heavy exhaust to meet Euro 5.
@JIMWSMITH

These bikes may look well and I have ridden an x cape, rides really nice but doesn't excite you. It all boils down to the full experience will dealer networks be able to meet demand with servicing warranty claims , parts supply ,this is where the Chinese brands are getting let down. Once all this improves then they may actually start to make an impact on the market.

Reliance on Chinese products is about as wise as relying on the Russia gas and oil as it is becoming clear to the Europeans.

Just like Benelli, Cagiva should not have sold Moto Morini to the Chinese but I suppose they were going bust at the time. These bikes wear the badge but they are not Morini's or Benelli's to me a Morini is a 5 1/2 or 3 1/2 v twin and a Benelli anything from the Tre to the Sei or for me the 900 Tornado. These Chinese bikes can be bought with a variety of names stuck on the tank, you can stick an MV badge on a turd but it's still a turd.

It’s true, MV did that themselves back in the day. Not everything they made was great, but the great bikes they did make were legendary. Mr Grist, I think you need to do a bit more research before commenting. Cagiva did not sell Moto Morini to the Chinese. Cagiva have not owned Moto Morini for many years. There is no 51/2 Morini, either. You probably know Ing. Lambertini did develop a 550 from the 501 but it was never produced (or mayybe you didn't?). I have a 1200 (98% Italian parts and a fantastic engine), puts a grin on my face every ride. The X-Cape I have ridden over 700 miles and it is superb. The new Morinis are designed in Italy, and it shows. The engine is made by CFMoto and it has a lot of low down torque. The X-Cape has fully adjustable suspension and handles superbly. I believe there are 15 dealers in the UK now and appear to be increasing every week. I suppose a Triumph is not really a Triumph, either as they are made in Thailand?

I am TRIUMPH-Fan. I bought one of the first new Tridents in Germany in 1991 and i liked it, had tears in my eyes wenn i selled it years later. An i would also like the new Trident from 2022 but the Morini is so much better designed! An the better design has much to do with the "big" 18`` Frontwheel. 17`` Frontwheels may be "sporty an quick" (3:33) but they are ugly. A motorbike has to look fine an so small 17´´ wheels destroy good Designs. You do not believe? Have a look on the Triumph-Bikes from 1991: They all had 18`` Backwheels. Well looking in my opinion. Later, in 1993 the factory gave them 17``Backwheels in three spoke Design. Bad and ugly since 1993 in my opinion. My unheard whish to TRIUMPH: Before I die i would like to buy a T120 Bonneville or a Speed Twin with 18`` Backwheel an 19`` Frontwheel. No, that ist not to big. Al Bigbikes of the 1970ties had these sizes. Price does´nt matter! An i am not interest in "Sporty an quick" Wheelsizes because i am me myself "Sporty an quick". That matters nearly the 60. birthday. (Feeling like 29)

The biggest problem with these Chinese rebranded bikes for me is that they're relying too much on the badge names in order to sell their units. Very much different with how Royal Enfield and Triumph regained their glory. Instead of relying on their colorful history, they made actual GOOD bikes that people want to ride. I hope these new manufacturers from China would understand this idea. We don't like Chinese bikes not because of "made in China" stigma, but simply because they aren't just good.
Жыл бұрын
Apart from the engine (that is a well know derivative of a well known brand) you have BRembo brakes, Pireli tires and KYB shocks for less 1Kpounds.... Not sure where the "aren't just good" might come from. (Cautionary tale, off course, untill we get it out and about for some time)...Chinese bits and pieces are the controls, and the dash... that seems to be very nice... even according to Bob. So... the question would be... aren't we valuing Triumph's and RE badge too much? but I get the point..

Some Chinese bikes are actually excellent now, you should take a ride of the 700 Cfmoto series...they're great. If you didn't know they were Chinese you'd swear they were Japanese. Quality is great.
