I'm not a cruiser fan but That R12 is one of the best looking cruisers I've seen

R12 looks cool and will hopefully appeal yo the cruiser intenders. The R9T is still my favourite retro and prefer the look of existing model.

That R12 looks really appealing. Can’t wait to see it in the flesh. I hope it’s ground clearance in corners though is much improved on the R18

I also think the older R9T was better looking. That new R12 looks really sharp from the video, gives me vibes of my Moto Guzzi Griso. Too bad they down tuned it, but maybe once tuners get at it, hopefully a flash will give it the full beans.

I love the R12! Since I lost my beloved R1200C in an accident in 2022 and even before I was hoping for a newer and lighter cruiser from BMW and it appears that the R12 is it. I’m really excited and I just hope it will fit me just was well as the R1200C , which felt like Taylor made for me. Both Variants look great, I think. Finally, thank you for making these great Videos, they are very helpful and nice to watch.

Hard to justify the BMW badge markup but that cruiser is gorgeous

I saw that r12 cruiser today at the NEC bike show and in my opinion, was the hands down bike of the show for me, as shown here it looked incredible in the flesh.

italians are allready building tiny bikes ... germans should think of more than 6 feet drivers ... we want a 9T scrambler for tall people !

I would 100% get one of these over Harley’s new nightster.

i am more drawn towards the older R9T but neverthess the new R129T also looks fab...

I think I prefer the old R nineT style but it had a good run, I guess it was due a change. I do like the R12 although it’s not really my thing. The price differential is hard to justify but even the old nineT was more expensive than the R1250R which on paper beats it hands down. Go figure ! The BMW video called the bike with a bikini fairing a “Racer” so expect more variants in the future although I’ll be sticking with my old R nineT Racer 🇬🇧

I find the naked bike riding position more commanding because I have weight on the front wheel and can put weight on my arms. Cruisers may have the "commanding" attitude but steering them is like using a tiller.

I prefer the analog gages myself!

Issue is that this is still the old Oil Head engine that was in the GS's 2009-2012 and is unchanged. Also has a dry clutch that is positioned at the back of the engine. Any service on that clutch means breaking the bike in half.

Finally a seat height I can ride! Can’t wait to test ride it 👍🏻

The best boxer engine ever - the 1200 twincam aircooled. Bring back a R1200GS air cooled with basic ABS as an alternative to the finicky 1300cc LC!

I’m totally not a cruiser person as I have older Italian sports bikes but the cruiser is a very elegant bike.

Not in my price range, plus I´m addicted to Moto Guzzi BUT these bikes look fabulous

I am also surprised by how much I like that R12. Can’t wait to sit on one and see how comfy those ergonomics are. It looks amazing. Really like the swing arm on the green tank model. Having had 2 Boxers I’d go for the 109 hp.

Gotta admit, I never saw the R12 coming. Bit of a pleasant surprise and seems naturally introduced by the R18 to completely distance it from the R1200C.

That may be the best all-rounder motorcycle ever. Great power and torque from a reliable motor and now with USD forks. It looks so friggin cool! Especially the all aluminium and red frame of the 719. Solo seat conversion is wicked and I'd opt for the larger fairing instead of the fly screen. I'll have my saddle in a dark brown tan please! Wow! I'm torn between this and the Tiger 900 GT Pro. I know they have different purposes but a guy can dream... As per usual, great reporting!

New r9t all day. So much cleaner looking than the outgoing model. Airbox (and I assume) battery in a sensible location. This is a worthy successor. Green, analog gauges and tubeless spoked wheels please (if a suitcase of Franklins was left on my doorstep).

Got the now old nineT for years now... Waiting for a test drive at the dealer RN, the old bike is awesome, wanna try the new one before I press buy.

I like the new Nine T .... especially in the green color scheme. Three questions: 1) Does the optional digital dash include a fuel level gauge, 2) Is the optional bikini fairing available in the green color, and 3) Is an optional center stand available this year? Thanks. Nice reporting.

Looks great! As an owner of the old RnineT, I was hoping they would go retro-futuristic with the new model. Most of the modern styled BMWs look strange to me.

Does the new r12ninet come with a fuel gauge this time? It’s a lovely looking bike and I would have considered one but when you have added a few extras to r12ninet you are looking close to 16k, out of my price.

These just look all wrong in person. I looked hard at them but that motor just looks odd in a retro bike. Sorry but the Bonneville is the perfect design retro bike.

Love the R 12 ! . . . At least based on the promo pics and videos. Can't wait to see one at my local BMW Motorrad . . . and hopefully be able to test ride it . . . and . . . just maybe give my Sportster 1200 a new companion !

I loved my 9t. The one thing I don’t like about the new style is the length of the tank, I don’t like seeing all the wiring exposed up where the neck of the frame is. I do like that the removed the snorkel, but everything else I liked better about the old.

That cruiser could be stretched out a bit bit elongating and increasing the seat a bit. Might make it a better cruiser

Being an R9T owner, not impressed with the R12 9T. The regular R12 is fine but like the R18 it won't sell well.

I've got the R9t, never been a super big cruiser fan because they all kinda look the same, but this one catches my eye.

I had the old R nineT when they first come out, and i absolutely love it. I think this new one looks pretty damn interesting..!! 🤙🏼

I really like the R12. When I was looking for a new bike two years ago (I bought a Moto Guzzi V7 Special) I looked at the R nineT but I didn't like the rear modern sport bike styling. I would have bought the new R12 with its more traditional styling and rear fender.

Ummm, The NineT oil cooled BMWs were always good looking, but what were they thinking with the R12? The R18 was also a looker, but the R12 is neither a muscle cruiser nor a retro, a bit of dogs breakfast from the photos. Raiding the Harley catalogue for a rear mudguard does not a good looking cruiser make and cruisers more than any other type of bike need to look good. Maybe it looks better in the flesh? I'm a cruiser fan and also love the boxer twin engine, but I'm very disappointed by their styling efforts with the R12. The weirdo R1200C at least had a style all of its own.

If you dig the boxer/shaft drive configuration, it’s hard to go back to a chain driven bike, I reckon.

Here in PT the price for the new nineT starts now on 19.2k€. as the other "lower" versions will be descontinued... THis thing will tank. at least for now...

Analog speedo and Rev counter every day on Classic Bikes Rolex DON'T make digital watches. Digital clocks on motorcycles is a Cheap Trick . Rider modes are also a cheap trick on classic. Rider Modes are in your right hand. R12 is the Best bike lve seen in a very long time and the price fits the bike. R 12 Absolutely Beautiful 😍

Good review, you have just confirmed my desire to stay with the 2014 - 2023 models. Smaller tank, less horsepower, lower riding position and poor indicator design. You’ve saved me 15k 👍
