Great vid. Thanks man! I picked one up for my wife! Bought a metal spur gear and a reduced pinion right off the bat. She isn’t a basher; so she will be happy. Both the girls in my life join me! It’s a a lot of fun. NOTE: if anyone upgrades to a metal spur-you’ll need another pack of slipper disks- you need four disks in total for the metal spur. The plastic only has three. Have fun all. The driveshaft won’t be a problem. Tougher than it looks.

Sorry about your Dad, that's a big loss in life. I had a Pink and Purple striped Ford Ranger for years and loved it. When I traded it in they took the splashes off but didn't buff the truck. I always saw it around sound with the deep black where the stripes had been. She was a pretty truck, I always loved it.

Your videos sold me on rejoining the hobby after 20+ years. You seem to have so much joy when driving it reminded me of the fun I used to have in the old days and I wanted to play too. I kinda wanted to go e-revo 2.0 after watching those videos of yours but it seems to be a little more advanced. I figured this Vorteks is so durable that it would make for a smart first choice since coming back into the game. :) Maybe get the e-revo 2.0 once I've got more driving experience again. :) Thanks for the videos.

First off, even though this is 2 years old, condolences on the loss of your Dad.. You crack me up..."How well it stays on the ground when it lands"..I mean, I get what you're saying, "It handles landings well", but yeah, of course it's gonna stay on the ground when it lands. I'd be worried for ALL our souls the day things DON'T stay on the ground when they land! lol ;) weird how the body was tweaked, then that screw fell out...wonder if that was related? Looks like fun, and I'm liking your video. I'm doin' the research to maybe get one of these. Already have a bunch of Arrma stuff, and a Spektrum DX5 pro to bind them too, plus all the batteries already. OR ...one of those 3s Traxxas 1/10th jobbies, but that's a lot more loot, plus I'd need batteries and a charger! ugh... Funny how I find myself leaning backwards in my chair as I watch you do flips. That's a drag about the wheel..odd 14 mm hex's too. The bluetooth thing that goes in the radio, and uses an app on your smarty pants phone is pretty sweet, will also tel you temps. Have that on my Infraction 3S

I had to bind mine first too but also the rear diff on mine needed repairs before I could even properly drive it. All my 3 Arrma cars had some kind of quality issues out of the box that needed addressing, but I still love them.

Got mine on 30 April and i love it... super fast, super controlled in the air, the control remove was amazing, the avc is better then TSM and finally i find a better 1/10 then Rustler. Maybe the best 1/10 Truggy out of the box. Im glad you got it 😁😁😁

I love my Arrma Vorteks🤩👊I got it yesterday (instead of the big rock because I like the Vorteks even more than the big rock) and it is absolutly epic 💥

A lot of guys have been having problems with the gears making noise out of the box thinking gear mesh is too tight. Another youtuber found that he was having problems with the spur gear wobbling on the shaft due to a small “cap” loose. He took the slipper clutch assembly from his big rock, put it in the vorteks and the problems went away.

Nice coverage of the Vorteks. It looks almost like an Armma Granite inside. Super easy RC to work on. I must say it's plenty fast. You almost sent it through your garage door. Awesome run up the narrow driveway. 👍👏🏆

Lost a screw on my wing first day out too. Shout out to The Hobby Shop. That place has been holding it down for a while. Other than that I’ve had a blast with this car so far.

The Arrma 3S range is amazing, i've had them for about 1.5 years now, the only ''weak spot'' i would say you might wanna look into upgrading later, is the plastic spur gear, especially with hard bashing it wears quite quickly, i havent broken anything else on em yet! quick tip i have though, the center driveshaft wont ''break'' by driving it, i have seen people getting rocks stuck under it and eating it up, only thing i'd look out for. Also, hope you are doing okay, sorry for your loss. edit: right i also went through 1 rear differential haha!

I've had mine for a couple of weeks and love it. It's fast, it's tough, it looks awesome and handles extremely well. Probably the best 1/10 scale 3S 4wd truck right out of the box. And damn does that purple/fuscia body look awesome. My condolences on the loss of your Dad.

I watched another Vorteks video and he also had a bent rear wheel issue, bending the centre hub plastic. It maybe an issue with the wheel being weak at the centre. Hope that makes sense. Ha. I also just brought one and my mesh sounds dodgy, I will check before I drive it. Thanks for sharing. John

I just watched Amain Hobby put this truck through it's paces, and it seems like a very good truck. After seeing their review and run test, I too would recommend this truck.

One thing about Arrmas’s Is that the hole under the servo is a pain in the ass if your driving on gravel because every rock will go u deer and get stick in the servo so sometimes you have to take off the servo to get the rocks out.

Also always go through all your nuts and screws on any ready to run before you beat on them every car has something loose. Losing has always been the worst for loose screws.

Welcome to the works of Arrma. Next you will have issues with the ball studs becoming very loose and the servo saver will take a dump as well. I have the big rock. I should have saved up and bought a Maxx. 😬.

Great Video man. I have a similar issues with the wheel hubs on my Big Rock. Both rear tyres had the hubs lose their shape to the point that the hubs basically collapsed. I replaced them with Granite wheels and I've had the right rear do the same again! I don't bash that hard and really like the stock tyres on my Vorteks and you can't get replacement stock wheels for the Vorteks. Make me think twice about jumping it, yet that's where a lot of the fun is. To be honest I haven't seen this issue much before so I was really interested when it happened to you.

I’ll bet something you’re used to with traxxas escs is the bilateral brakes. They’ll brake reverse to forward and forward to reverse. Arrma esc only brake forward to reverse and just aren’t as fast at it. And reverse to forward it’ll just go straight into forward and cogs like crazy. That’s probably what made that trick harder.

can't wait to pick this one up. the hub issue on the tire is kinda rare. I've had it happen to one of my Big Rock crew cab v3 Ragnarok tires. haven't really had this happen to any other 14mm hex tires. just that one.

I have the same truck and mine doesn't spin around like that and haven't had a problem with the tires spinning out on the inside that's weird. Make me think something going on with the front diff to make it spin like that. Great video!

I bought mine and drove it once! gear mess was super loose and 2 rear wing bolts are missing. Great video! I got the pink one as well. I just liked the color the best. I have a Pink stampede as well?! That’s funny!!

It is weird only hearing 3 beeps!😂 I only have 6s and 4s Arrma RC cars so it is weird hearing 3 ESC beeps!

The tool is new they normally come with a crappy plastic thing. The roof protectors and wing are a good addition as those points get destroyed on the BigRock. Put some gaffs tape over the bottom of the chassis where the servo access point is that stops a lot of stones. It’s a shame the centre shaft does t have the bearing and fixing on it. Look up toptubz they do a tub that goes inside allows air in but keeps all the rubbish out. You always need to bind and do the end points with the Aarma stuff. With the tyres they have gone for a harder lower profile tyre compared to the BigRock as they are legit pizza cutters and the Vorteks basically a RdRock check yt HardcoreRc for what I mean. Basically a BigRockitj the suspension restricted and used for speed runs. Look at getting the the 17ml Hex fitted and a set of Badlands. Also Get it hooked up to DumboRC or FlySky to improve the throttle response. Really great to see you back at it and having fun again 💪👊💯

With spectrum avc you have to wait till the rc to link to radio , gears sound that way due to being composite aka plastic . I installed a medium spacer for the front Shocks , awesome video

Broken wheel missing screw tires running into the body and radio problems, pretty good run for a horizon product, at least that's been my experience.

Day 1 - I broke the front right spring. Waited 2 weeks. 4 days later - I broke the front right spring. 15mins later - I broke the front right spring So different results for different people :)

Keep an eye on those temps. My big rock pushes the temps quite a bit 170 is where you want to stop

Death sucks. I’m sorry about your father, this was a year ago but I’m sure it stings still. Anyway I actually bought the green version of the Vorteks and I love it so far. Only 4 full batteries though it and not off road yet, this thing hauls. I’m never buying a 6s or 8s as they are overpriced and break too easy and the repairs cost even more lol. This is the best RC I’ve owned and will probably own for the foreseeable future. Great job Aarma, and a thank you to Aarma for the $50 off coupon in March that I used to purchase it, that $50 swayed me to go for the Vorteks over the Senton 3s or Typhon 3s.

the first problem you had with throttle and red blinking light happened to me as well, the truck has the ESC plug in the receiver's AUX slot and the power switch in the throttle slot. This is a mistake from the factory, just switch the two JR plugs in the receiver to the right slots or the problem will presist, it will flash red the next time you try to turn the truck on and it will not move. took me all night to figure it out but now runs like a charm, also thread lock the wheel shafts or the wheels will fly off, no cap! and check the pinon and spur gear for the right mesh.

I just ordered the Purple one. Getting it Fri/Sat. Will used with my DX5 Pro.
