Welcome back to Texas! Happy and safe travels on your new adventures. I have a rising 6th grader as well. Thank you for sharing your choices. Since we are hybrid homeschoolers, we will have to wait for the university model school to choose the curricula.

Thank you so much!! We are settling with our new adventure and are loving Texas for the most part. That is so interesting. I’m interested in hearing what curricula the university model school chooses. Aren’t y’all in Texas too? What does it mean to be hybrid homeschoolers? I didn’t know there were options where the government provides.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words and for watching. We have enjoyed easy grammar very much-too the point and effective. Biblioplan was overwhelming at first sight but once you figure out how it all pieces together, it’s really not so daunting. It looks like a great program and I’m excited to try it out.

We have a son going into 6th grade too. As well as two older girls, one is already graduated. The other is going into 9th this coming school year. We also have a 3 year old son. As you can see my kids ages are pretty similar to yours. I love watching your channel in general but I especially love your curriculum picks and reviews because you always expand on what you and the kids loved or didn’t love about it! Excited to see more videos from you and your family. BTW we live in Texas as well. Welcome back!❤

Thank you so much for all the encouraging words. Texas is huge but it would be so fun to cross paths someday. Our son has always wanted a brother and is singled out within a mix of girls so I’m sure he’d love a guy friend.

@@DevinMarks-og2qt yes, so thankful to God because we were definitely not expecting anything and we are new to the area. Our county is one of the 3 major counties that was hit last night. Congrats on the part time work and the RV living. That is fun (though I am sure sometimes stressful with a larger family). I think all of these seem like they would be helpful! I have heard of so many families using Saxon Math and Singapore Math. I never have though.

These are such great picks! I’m excited to see where your next adventure takes you. May I ask if you are switching your younger kids to Saxon as well? I am currently using Math Mammoth with my 7 year old daughter but I am thinking she would respond better to a spiral approach versus a mastery approach. My son does really well with Math Mammoth so I thought it would work well for my daughter, too. I was very wrong! 😂 It was a good lesson to learn that the same program may not work well for all of your kids. Thanks for making these videos. I’m sure it can be challenging considering you are now back to work and so busy with RV living and the kids.
@TheChan7
@TheChan7 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so so much for all the encouraging words. The same programs definitely don’t always work for all the kids but we have been lucky that so far we have been successful with Singapore math for all our kids. We switch the kids to Saxon by 7th grade because the teaching method is more familiar with Saxon as opposed to Singapore math by that level. Also, we knew that Singapore math only is available through 8th grade so we thought it would be a good idea to transition the kids to a program that is tried and true throughout high school. I hope that answers your question. My husband enjoys math so he helps the kids with math when he can. Singapore is spiral so maybe try it with your 7 year old at least up to 6th grade. It’s such a solid, strong program.

@@TheChan7 Thank you for sharing what has worked well for your kids! I will definitely take a look at Singapore. Was there a certain edition or sub type of Singapore Math that worked well for your kids? I see there are so many different types offered within Singapore. It makes sense to switch them by 7th grade to Saxon.

I will also have a 6th grader this upcoming year. It was a challenge to find a history that we love. We are finishing up Bibloplan Ancient this year and we are moving onto Medieval History. I hope you your family loves it. We use map work and the cool history questions for a light work day. I will purchase the audio next year to help with reading aloud.

We are looking for a logic curriculum!!! I’ve heard good things on Saxon but we have never used it!!! I did bibloan as a kid but never used it with my kids!!! I didn’t kno biblioplan is a family curriculum!!! We used it as high schoolers!!! me and my siblings where the youngest kids and my parents had just found it!!! We are doing science history and loving it!!!

Thank you so much for all these encouraging words. I’m excited to try some different curricula. It’s nice to change things up a bit once in a while. We feel like it makes homeschooling a little more exciting and fun. Maybe biblioplan changed its focus? It’s supposed to be good for larger families now. What resource are y’all using for science history?

How interesting to be homeschooling while living in an RV! It's okay to switch from one spelling program to another if it's not working for your son. You are so thorough in what you are using for curriculum!

I feel like we’ve switched so many times to the point where I’ve thought something was wrong with my teaching. But yes if it’s not working, it’s okay to make changes. And sometimes I get excited about trying more and different resources that maybe I’m adding too much. Thanks so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts.
