Hey Eric, been watching you over the years and love your content! I recently joined youtube so i can now comment and like your vids. I am subscribed as well :) I also wanted to comment on your post about what you make on youtube.. as I understand it you get paid according to the amount of video your viewers watch.. if your ads are skipped you get min payment , if the ads is watched to the end you recieve full payment for that ad. some channels make ads unskippable to maximaize the ad revenue .. thanks

Good video! These would be very nice for a LS3 short block with a truck norris cam for an offroad vehicle. Let US know when you can get them.

I didn’t hear price. Very nice option if you need heads for your 6.0 or bigger. Regarding small bores, I think you need to deal with radius, not diameter. The edge of a 3.780 bore is 0.110 inside a 4.000 bore. If the valve is 0.085 smaller, that is about 0.043 on the radius, ie, the increase in distance from the bore edge. Add a 0.090 change in valve CL, and you have 0.133 more spacing, well inside the edge of the 4.8 or 5.3 bore. This all assumes the exhaust valve wasn’t moved, which we don’t really know, but seems likely from the room next to the intake valve. I guess it’ll take a mock-up to know for sure, but it should work.

I didn’t put a price because someone could watch a year later and it could be different

Nice review, should make for a killer powerband. My only question is, is the valve angle stock LS3 or LS7? I believe 13 or 11.

Eric, the Brodix BR 1 13 cathedral ports, 245cc, 2.10 int x 1.60 exh, have you flowed them to compare the 370cfm? I am an sbc bbc guy, but I picked up a dart ls block from a Nascar team for $1200 and I'm looking to throw those heads on the block and make my 70 GMC a a/c hot rod cruiser since I got the 88 Monte SS as the drag car.
@jonsetzer955617 күн бұрын
That head with a little work and a 2.125 intake valve would probably be a 350cfm head

Compare this with the promaxx head
@nowayjose5964 ай бұрын
For those wondering, here's intake flow numbers for the Promaxx Small Bore Rectangle Port heads (as tested by Eric previously): Lift CFM .100 70.3 .200 132.7 .300 199.4 .400 263.7 .500 313.1 .600 337.4 .700 353.1 .800 331.8 .900 337.2 1.000 335.7 So up until and including 0.400 lift the AFR Enforcers have the advantage, then the Promaxx Small Bores take over from 0.500 on up. A few additional things to consider: - The AFRs only come in a 72cc chamber, while the Promaxx Small Bores are available in either 63cc or 59cc. - They both use a 2.08 intake/1.60 exhaust valve, and the AFRs are a 238cc runner vs 240cc for the Promaxx. - Now one of the biggest differences: price. The Promaxx Small Bores are currently $1609.00/pair BARE with an additional ~$120 shipping for a total price of ~$1729.00 (from Promaxx directly). The AFR Enforcers are $1225.56/pair BARE with free shipping for a total price of $1225.56 (from AFR directly). The ASSEMBLED Promaxx Small Bores are $2305.00 (with .650 PAC springs) plus ~$120 shipping for a total of $2425.00. The ASSEMBLED AFR Enforcers are $1501.82 (with .650 PAC springs) plus free shipping for a total of $1501.82. It'll definitely be nice if the AFRs fit on a 3.898" LS1 bore, but the large 72cc chambers are going to be an issue for anyone wanting to run naturally aspirated.

I am wondering how well these heads might pair with a 300-120 intake...
@drivinwithdrew76764 ай бұрын
I’ve kinda had a thought that Chevy did the square port head too big, to kill low end torque on purpose, for drivetrain purposes, they were also going to 6 speed autos around the same time, so they didn’t want or need more low end torque, having steeper first gears, somewhat made up for it, also imo people really sleep on nice cathedral port heads for the ls, they will almost always make more average power, 3k rpm and up, a set of cathedral ports setup similar to those enforcers would be sweet to compare
@tadwiltman48754 ай бұрын
They did do it too big on purpose. That is correct. The reason had to do with part-throttle pumping losses and fuel economy. Also follows the "big head-small camshaft" theory to reduce emissions
@timothybayliss66804 ай бұрын
These should fit a 3.9 bore ls1. There is 0.090 missing between the valves plus another 0.075 from the different valve package. From outside of exhaust to outside of intake valve has dropped by 0.165. They prob wont clear 3.78 bore but a 3.9 looks like it should be no problem.
@nowayjose5964 ай бұрын
One would hope, otherwise it seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through just to get a 2.08 intake valve in there.

So I'm building a 4.065 bore lq9 that's has the block filled. (Drag racing only engine). It has a 2cc dome summit pro ls 2618 piston with generous valve reliefs that work with 13.5* cathedral heads or 15* ls3 heads. My question is since this head has such a smaller valve and the spacing is tighter but it's 11* valve angle, do you think it will help with ptv clearence? I'm gonna run a cam motion solid roller 249/263 680/650 111.5+3. Engine is gonna be just barely 12:1 compression, at most 12.2:1.
@lancegibbs75064 ай бұрын
I'm assuming it won't change much at if it even does give me more clearence than a 2.165 11* head would. Originally had liberty ls3 heads and cam motion designed the cam around all that info. So I'm hoping to get lucky and clear. But I'm gonna try these heads as well stock for stock and ported for ported
@CLEEPER14 ай бұрын
I'd guess that engine and a ported ls3 head would run hard. My 4.030 bore ls2 with mild ported and valve job ls3 heads made 575/535 with only 11.4 compression and 227/237 621/604 113.5+3.5 runs 10.8 at 126 at 3650 with manual transmission
