This is my apartment styling 2 months after moving in! In this video, I’m bringing you along my apartment tour, in which I’ll show you the decorating I’ve done so far and what I think this space needs from here. Because it’s definitely not done yet!
In this final chapter in my New Apartment Decorating video series, I thought an overall walkthrough of this apartment would be a good way to wrap this saga up. I’m definitely going to keep decorating in here and making videos about it, but it’s time to move on to other cozy apartment subject matter. Stay tuned to the end of the video to hear my future plans for this channel!

I am besotted with the black Gothic-vibe table behind your sofa...where did you purchase it from? I would love to hear about any good books you recommend, board or computer games and honestly I think I would like to be able to Shop Moda Misfit, candles, soaps, original art (photography) decor pieces, merch clothing maybe? I still want an extra large print of your "ring of trees in fog" photo you shared about in an earlier video. Am I single, living in an apartment and loving gothic rock goddess style?? No, not at all. It doesn’t matter, it is your spirit and the joy of moving objects within a space, a love of colour and texture and creating ambiance that weaves a common thread. I have come to really appreciate the you tube folks who share their thoughts and experiences and make us all more connected. It has been a dark season for many of us, and all the sparks of joy,even the smallest, can light up the night sky.

Adding an accent pillow the same green as the leaves of tree could help break up matchy feel in a subtle way.

Hi Steffi. Since you asked for opinions, here's mine: I think you need a pop of green on your sofa. I'm thinking something between a dark forest green and a dark jewel toned green. This would call back to the tree in the corner, which is looking a little lonely and would break up the black/white motif that is still overwhelming. Maybe a throw pillow or a blanket on the sofa. A pop of a dark dark red would help as well, and would emphasize both the flowers on the console behind the sofa and the vase next to the TV. I don't think your new place yet has the coziness and depth of design that your studio had. Part of that is time, but part of it, I think, is just the emphasis on gold/black/white as the predominant colors. Overall, though, of course it's your place and whatever makes you happy is how you should style it. I'm enjoying watching the process.

I love cohesiveness you have created and don’t mind matchy matchy design. I don’t mind mixing it up either. To each her own. It’s a beautiful home! Love seeing how you brought it all together. The beauty of what you created is you switch things around when you want a refresh. A bookshelf or shelving in the open space in living space and kitchen may work too. 🥰

I love matchy matchy ! I love how one room flows to the next room. That is how my townhouse is decorated. I can move my decor from room to another room when I need a change.

What a positive difference it made putting the large vase with the grasses next to kitty's chair. Looks just right & creates a ending point/divider from hallway. The glass, rust colored vase on TV console would look better without the dried flowers because of the grasses so close in the floor vase. Just my view & opinion, you know how that goes 🤗, we all have them. Stunning sanctuary you have created & I hope you will be happy there.

Move the console rather than dresser to spot you mentioned; maybe use the art currently in the bathroom above the console? Loved your review of the home decor spot in Snoqualmie. Maybe show your favorite small shops/neighborhoods in Seattle?

Perhaps put the musicians artwork in the bedroom? I like the idea of the bar cart, although for me a hot chocolate or tea cart would be more useful! What about wallpaper, perhaps black brick or shiplap, on that kitchen wall? Personally I don't think the bedroom is crowded, but I would remove the console, rather than the dresser. But truly, the whole apartment is already so beautiful, you don;t need tto change much. Keep the videos comin'!

Looks fantastic! I am a big fan of the mural for the bedroom. You could put a small ottoman that would take the same space as a basket of blankets, and be extra seating.

Fellow single lady with a cat here, and I'm loving this new direction you're going in. I look forward to some of your same content plus anything new you're planning on doing. I like the idea of putting Fiona Apple on the wall the separates the kitchen from the living room and maybe putting the Fleetwood Mack lyrics on the wall next to it.

I love the way your living room turned out. Removing one pillow lessened the intensity of the black and white floral, but I didn't dislike the other pillow either. As I've said before, I'm a minimalist, and I couldn't live in your style, but I sure love it! If I were a maximalist, this would be me! Living alone with me cats (2) is the best life! So peaceful, which is what I wish for you.

I commented last week that the pillows and artworks felt too intense. Yes, raking one pillow out does change it and I find it pleasant to look at now. Great idea that was so simple!

You don't have to fill every space. The big wall is nice as is and the column doesn't need styling. It's good for the eyes to have a bit of relief.

I like your art, couch color and other pieces in the living room the pillows and artwork work well together. I would swap the simpler console table in the bedroom to the living room for a less busy look and let the prints be the main focus. The black console would be pretty to look at from the bed.

It’s looking great! If I were you, I would swap the console table in the living room with the wooden top with the one currently in the bedroom, and move that one back to the hallway - the rounded edges won’t hurt if you bump it. Plus, IMO, the scale of the one with the wooden top is better for the living room wall because it’s longer, and I thought the wood tied in with the golden tone of the couch. It’s also more streamlined which I think would look better with the new rug since that pattern is busier. I think you also had a little matching table you could put back in the spot you were thinking of adding another blanket basket. You could add a little bowl for keys or something practical. This way everything has a spot, and you could keep your chest for clothing in your bedroom - it looks really pretty there to me! Just my thoughts, of course. I know you will rock it! P.S.: That little marble top table might be cute by the tub with a candle and some bath salts or something for relaxing baths. Ok, happy decorating! 👋🏻

I agree with swapping tables too.. i love the size of the wood table along that big wall. Steffi, you could use the black gothic style in your bwdroom. And you can put the picture with words above the gothic console table in your bedroom. Plus the gothic table is slaller and has curves if you bump into it in your smaller space in your bedroom.

Very nice, since you asked, I would leave the dresser in the bedroom and move the console table to the hallway. In the bathroom the apothecary jars over the toilet are a bit too large for the space, the other arrangement was good. The wall art is fab! but it is for you not for me Besides the console in the living room, 2 baskets (one over the other no more blankets needed. The wall spaces outside the kitchen, you don't have to fill them all up, the nice rock and roll art could go in the 2 walls and leave the third one blank, the eye needs a rest now and then! the bar art is a great idea. And that my dear is my take/tweeks on the already beautiful apartment! Cheers

The console table would be nice in the living room since it seems to be a better size for under the floral art pieces. The living room table looks like a better size for the bedroom.

Put your cushion inserts that you don't need in the bin, keep the covers and change THEM out. Saves on storage for cushions....and put your 🔮 along the front of the TV.....and you can get crystals that hold tealights in them......

First, I love your necklace. Removing that one pillow is definitely better in my taste. You are lucky that you can put things like fake flowers & vases on your kitchen counter, mine is totally needing to be useful space for cooking, appliances, etc. For decorating in my kitchen, I got an aqua colored electric kettle, changed one kitchen cabinet to glass panes, and added potholders & towels, in an aqua & white pattern that makes it all cohesive. The one thing I would think about, is changing that bedroom, why bring previous vibes? I would want you to wake up in a room that you know is new, and totally yours, you have enough gold, and black and white in the rest of the apartment, maybe you could find a similar, but different wallpaper, similar colors, then change the bed, covering to a light teal that I think you like. Wake in the morning to Hilo, looking out that fabulous view, immediately seeing a aqua/teal/solid bed covering that tells you when you wake in the morning, this is new and mine 😘

Love the new rug in the living room. It ties everything together and looks beautiful. It's hard to believe that two months have gone by since you moved in. Hilo seems to love his new location. Steffi try swapping console tables with your bedroom.. it would be curvy and smaller in your bedroom so you could bump into it.. try the dresser in the hallway.. i also like the idea of putting a tall slim bookshelf on the blank wall facing your living room that you asked about.. or the wall to the right of your fridge. You could have a lot of fun styling it with cozy books to read and smaller pieces, etc.. i could never live anywhere without a bookcase. I rotate books in and out as i read them.. then i have some decorating books that i love flipping thru... you could incorporate the small pic of music person (i dont feel like scrolling back).. its morning and i have to get up and moving..lol. Hope thess ideas help. I love the vasd with pompass grasses next to the chair.. great anchor and it adds nice softness...

Move the dresser where the nightstand is and move the nightstand into the living room in that empty space. You can style it with a vase or invest in a bust (rock 'n' roll themed, of course). I'd move that side table into the space between the bedroom and bathroom, too. That little table could go into the corner of your bedroom and you can place some plants on it. Or put it in the living room in that empty space and move the nightstand into the corner with some plants. Good luck!

Maybe move your gray chair to the other side of the TV console in that corner where the mirror is, so it’s not floating/jutting out awkwardly when you enter? Might have to shift the furniture around, but at least it’ll connect it to the rest of your living room in a “conversational” way.

Hi Steffi! I noticed you're starting to come along as you shape your aparment's interior. How wonderfull!. Though I'm kind of a minimalist I always enjoyed your videos and your take in interior desing. Having said that I think that eventough the floral art in the livingroom is pretty, a long narrow piece would complement the couch and the oposite wall better. Giving you're super articulate, and have these calm demeanor, I'd love to see you interviewing other apartment living fellows. I think it would be an interesting approach on the subject. I wish I had suggestions!! I have your course but haven’t finished. I’ve been busy caring for my Mom but will finish eventually. But to me it looks beautiful. I’d love to hear more about purchase regret. Even with laying things out we can still make decisions that don’t work out. For example 3 years ago I purchased my let out sofa. It’s a great sofa but like you mentioned with yours the material is a little rough and now worn due my two cats clawing into it. I want to reupholster maybe in a velvet or something. My cats don’t claw at velvet and it might make for a more comfy couch. Decisions decisions The shots of Helo are always appreciated ❤❤

I'd put a mirror on the wall directly opposite your window. You will have a great reflection and illusion of the room seeming bigger.

I'm so jealous that Helo lets you have pampas grass and faux plants. Mine destroy all of that. I think taking that one pillow out really helps I think it's just too close to the paintings in pattern and location. I love any of your cozy content, recipes, movies, books, video games, board games, what are you getting people for the holidays? I've also been going through a big upheaval this year and it has not been fun. Your videos give me a little something to connect to when I'm trying to piece it all back together.

You look happy in the decorated apartment . Loving the space . Exchanging the sequin cushion on the chair with the second matchy cushion on the sofa might make that side less matchy. It’s refreshing to know that it takes time to figure out what works. Sometimes I would move just one piece after years and it works! I would think why didn’t I see that before. Watching videos and shows makes one think designers have it all planned out to a tee on first take. Thank you for ‘not’ knowing what you want to do with certain spaces. 🥰

Honestly I don't think you need anything on the wall next to the console, it looks really lovely. I personally feel that adding a basket of blankets there could be a little crowded, as it looks as though there isn't a lot of space between your sofa and the wall. It's absolutely okay to have negative space. Just my opinion😊

I love cohesion and think it's important in living spaces, hooooooowever....I think both pillows have to go 🙈 I know you said that one you lay on is comfy but I feel it's too busy with the new rug and paintings. It makes the eyes bounce a little too much and it's hard to appreciate those great pieces on their own with so much going on. It feels like your couch is screaming for a solid color pillow or two. Just my opinion 😊. I do love your space and style. You've made some really bold and tasteful choices that just work. Thanks for sharing! 😊😊

You should put the dresser right in front of your bed. The table could go by that wall near the door in your room and put some trinkets on it. I am new to your channel and came off your other video when you was apartment hunting and I enjoy it so far.... In your previous video I actually liked the 2nd apartment that you toured with your dad in the suburbs. I thought you was going to be more happy there specially walking to Chipotle😂 lol.

Really enjoying this series, and am hopeful that you and Helo are safe in your new space. I'd also love to see decorating for the holidays, and how you accommodate those seasonal changes in your life and living situation. Came across your video, it is ABSOLUTELY LOVELY. Question: When you asked for suggestions as to what could go next to the console and beneath your pictures, how about a sculpture of some kind, tall organic. I know that you have so many textures and fabrics in your apartment what about something metal? Again, I totally love your apartment. ❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️

For the double win of "cheisiveness" and breaking up the graphic black and white......maybe consider swapping out some of your sofa pillows for solid tones in green(pulling in the olive tree) or some of the ochre browns in your kitchen, or both.

I love the apartment, it looks beautiful! The new living room rug is fabulous, but - in my humble opinion - the black and white floral pictures now look too much. I know you just got them, but …! I think I would swap out those pictures (maybe put them in the bedroom?) rather than change the sofa cushions, which look lovely. I like the way the colour scheme ties the different rooms together, and placing that tall vase with pampas grass next to the gap between the edge of the chair and the wall is an inspired touch. You have, in fact, inspired me enormously during the years I have been following your channel. Which is strange, as we have different styles, but I just love the way you arrange your decor for maximum effect. As you said in your kitchen video, it’s like trying to crack a “code” getting one’s decorative touches exactly right.

Okay so I know your bed looks different depending on the light but what color was it online when you chose it? Did they describe it as a golden velvet or a olive green?? 😊 I know it’s because of the lighting but if I was to go online to find that color how would I specify ??
