mIRC was an amazing time of computing 👌🏻 Sooooooooooooo many hours waisted, but I honestly miss those days.

I remember using some mIRC scripts on MSN Chat back in the late 90’s early 2000’s, that was the peak of internet entertainment as far as I’m concerned. I really miss those days, I just don’t miss dialup, I couldn’t imagine going back to dialup after being spoiled with high speed internet. It would be torture.

Lovely that WMs are so minimal that there's not much to break and all, but for us that have a 4K monitor, WMs' minimalism comes back to hurt us

I honestly skipped right to the Wayland support part for Synergy and forks. Just like you, Chris, I can't really enjoy my computing session without that program. Sure, I am much more of a casual compared to you but no matter the OS or DE or compositor, having a software KVM which switches seemingly between machines (and VMs) is just so much nicer than having to use a hardware solution.

ICQ was where it was at when I was in HS. Irc was around but I rarely used it, everyone was on ICQ, irc was where you went to find out how to make ur wares games run lol 🎉

I wonder if a Synergy-compatible layer could be added at the driver level, to make Wayland think it's really a local mouse/keyboard (supporting the clipboard would be something else), but the driver would interact with the network stack instead of USB.

I want Debian Hyprland soooo bad. I tried it out on Trixie using someones install script and it worked pretty well. It'd be nicer if the Debian repo had more Wayland stuff or more up to date Wayland stuff. The improvements over the past year or 6 months make a massive difference. Id like to give it a full try on bare metal pretty soon too. It'd be the perfect mix. I have the PikaOS Hyprland Iso as well and it unironically is pretty great, though they discontinued it until it gets more refined.

What's the systray patched used there? I haven't touched my dwm setup in over a year. I usually just have to recompile every so often after a system update. Other than that I don't touch but I think it's time to make a few changes and a systray where I could hide steam would be nice. I also need to trim down some of the scripts I use in dwmblocks. It's getting a bit crowded up there.

There will never be proper synergy alternatives for wayland. There are tons of hacks (shared library injection), but they never support all of the features you want. Wayland by design does not allow software such as synergy to work and the wayland devs refuse to support it because of their policy.
