Brendan & I check out the brand new Audi SQ8, is it worth just over £100k? A 4 litre turbo V8 producing 430bhp and 900nm of torque makes this large sports SUV get to 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds!

Love your videos especially with Brendog, always love watching your videos and listening to the random stuff you guys chat about but its also genuinely interesting, so refreshing to see petrol heads having general car chat and not take themselves too seriously and having a laugh. Would be great to see video with Brendog in his Landrover or maybe his van.

Joe you are spot on re the elbow rests. My previous R8 V10+ had a shiny spot on the leather near the window where I would rest my arm. I've just replaced that with an RS4 and discovered the plastic around the window is not kind to your elbow!

Not a fan of SUVs either per se, but I think the taut styling really works on this car and the cabin is sooo special. Also, I've seen this car in metallic orange online and It works well as it's such a modern design, think it would be stunning on-the-road.

Well Joe, Audi have pulled it off again it's just one amazing vehicle and in black it's totally gangster. I have been looking on-line and I found a 68 Plate Audi A8 55 Quattro with just under 2000 Miles on the clock from Audi Liverpool for £48,000 thats great value for money. I think it must have been a ex-demo car but looked great and again in black and wow prices are dropping. Well Joe a great Video as ever and all the best Alan B

Cheers buddy! Yeah insane how quick the big bardges depreciate... My current 7 had an RRP over 103k, it ended up costing (on finance) around £65k brand new!!! Madness

I been told by Audi the SQ8 doesn't have the fake cabinet sound so what you hear is pure engine and exhaust sound 👍😎

I don’t think the Audi armrest problem is to do with height; I think they’ve gone for style over ergonomics with it. I’m 5’7 but couldn’t rest my arms in a TTS I owned and in an A5 courtesy car. I’ve never had that problem in the BMWs I’ve owned!

Great vid guys, do you think the extra £25k that the RSQ8 is compared the the current petrol SQ8 is worth it? Think it’s only half a second quicker 0-60, feel that maybe the SQ8 is better value for money? Seems a lot to pay more….?

There are many factors that influence mpg such as weight it weighs 2.3 tonnes, aerodynamics, it's a big SUV and it has a V8.

I know bud, I have a petrol 6.2L n/a v8 on the drive way, on a cruise i can get roughly 18 mpg and when having fun 8-12 mpg, I just thought with it being diesel and new technology plus turbos and the ability to de activate half the cylinders it would do much better, may as well get a petrol v8 and enjoy the proper sound

Joe Achilles Been driving X3M for 2months now it’s a bit hard on bumpy roads. But we do will in Uk roads r 💩 some places. Got the power and handle well. But understand 1 is a cruiser for family others a weapon

Far too expensive - a turbo petrol Q8 however would be a very nice thing (and they are about half the price )

Very nice and I’m sure it will sell but not my bag. SUV’s are for either fat boys or family wagons. I’d rather have an RS4 estate and a Lotus 👍

In all seriousness, who in their right mind pays in excess of £100k for an SUV? 🤷‍♂️ It’s unnecessary and quite comical (the CEOs at the big marques must chuckle themselves silly) Let’s all be honest, these ‘Chelsea tractors’ are not worth that money. They’re not used for sport either; simply shuttling back and forth to Waitrose - a statement of ones status and “lifestyle”, as opposed to practicalities. Got £100k? Lovely. Buy an M4 and keep the change 👌

Joe Achilles | Well, what such a person would first need to do, is accept that they don’t need a ridiculous SUV. They’re never going off-road. They’re never going anywhere. Other than Waitrose, Costa or Virgin Gym. Joe, we need less of these silly things on the road. Farmer Giles can have one to potter around tending his flock. I get that. Purpose validated. But Verity from Virginia Water? We’ve enough Challenger tanks in Surrey.

I own an SQ5 and with this being an “8” they really need a bigger trunk, roof slopes off too soon... which unfortunately is why, BMW is doing better in the performance SUV market

Nor true about BMW X5 / X6 .... trunk of BMW looks visibly smaller than SQ8 - ca. 10% Space in 2nd row in SQ8 is again much bigger than in X5/X6 BMW X5/X6 is a kind of top premium SUV while SQ8 fully packed is half class higher .... closer to Luxury segment. And confort and almost no noise inside when you drive 180-200km/h .... that is not possible in BMW SUVs even at 150km /h .... Diesel engine (some like / some not) is great .... max power almost on demand instantly .... with range even 800-900km .... and consumpion 8-12L/100km .... -20-40% vs. petro engines ... By far prefer SQ8.
