Thank you all for the wonderful comments! This is such a great community. And, thanks also for putting up with my audio here. I was talking about trying not to be a perfectionist, and I learned a lesson through the video itself. I didn't realize until the next day, but my mic was not plugged in at all, so my camera recorded this lovely audio from afar. :) I've also had such a hard time with my camera settings to get the skintone to look natural and so many times my videos don't look consistent with the lighting/coloring, etc. which is important for so many videos I do. I believe I finally fixed this issue and the video I posted after this one, I think, looks so much better!

I just bought the Dr. Pen because of her videos. I have spent lots of money on micro needling in a clinical setting over the years, but I just can’t do it consistently because I’m too busy. I have been wanting to try at home but until her videos I have not felt comfortable trying it myself. The way she breaks things down makes DIY at home so accessible. She also got me into skin peels!

Good to see you getting back into content production Holly! Personally I really like your videos outdoors where you live, especially when it's snowing. It's so unlike where I've ever lived. I'm an oddball. Don't know how many others are like me, but I am also a veteran. It's nice to watch you because you reflect many of my own problems (but admittedly you are handling it much better than I do). I like listening to the way you think, I am conditioned in much the same way. You are very goal oriented and it calms me down to listen to you. There are circles where I would describe you as a unicorn, and I think that is why I am subbed to you. It's nice to see a unicorn in the wild. Take care and have a good day.

@@LifeDIY I was one of the army's dirty red headed stepchildren, I'm an old paratrooper now. Among the many places I had served was a police station where some reserve MP's were placed and we had to do the security for the area (they got bombed a few times early in). There was a lady who reminded me of you, she didn't take much shit and she served honorably in a pretty nasty area, it was out in the Gazolea sector in Baghdad not so far from BIAP. I can count the females that were allowed into such areas on my fingers over the course of that year, she was one of them. I'm late to this video but I wanted to say I think you made a great choice! And I have always seen your channel as thematically coherent, and I happen to share pretty much all the same interests so maybe you feel like you have so far created a hodge podge of content, but for me as a viewer, it all feels very well gelled and there hasn't been any topic you've covered that I didn't at least want to know more about, even if it wasn't already on my radar! Well-aging is a holistic topic and there's a lot of overlap if not in exact subject matter, then in the interests of the viewer who comes to you based on one video (I found you through your microneedling videos!) is likely to be drawn to the other ones too. I also just love your energy and how calm you are while discussing treatments and even mistakes you've made. I found it comforting to hear about your trial and error processes too because DIY skincare can be isolating especially when you feel like you might have done something wrong but no one has talked about that specific error or result before. Anyway I'm writing a book here but just want to say whatever you're making, I'm here for it!!! Congrats on your choice!

I subscribed a long time back because your before-and-after style videos are some of the very best, if not THE very best, on this platform. I've been very impressed by your consistency with sticking to new experiments and documenting the process and results. I am generally interested in anything that relates to health, wellness, fitness, anti-aging, biohacking, anything of the sort. I also am very interested in psychology and mental health. I've recently spent a lot of time journaling to figure myself out, figure out what I care about, figure out what I value and what I want out of life. I've been dipping my toes into the spirituality world and trying meditation where I just focus on my breath and try to let go of any thoughts and just be fully present in my body and in my breathing. And have experimented with binaural beats, isochronic tones, positive affirmations, etc. I have benefited so greatly from especially the positive affirmations and working to change my limiting beliefs about myself and about my potential. If any of that is interesting to you too, then I would love to see content about that :)

Thank you so much for sharing all of this. I appreciate it because the videos you mentioned (with before and afters) are my favorite types of videos to do! I definitely need to do more of that. I love all those topics related to health, fitness, biohacking, etc. And, I am glad you mentioned mental health too and spirituality - also so important and not everyone talks about those topics. I hope to do more on those too. I'm so happy to hear that the positive affirmations are helping. That's awesome! Since you mentioned spirituality and the affirmations, you may want to check out Joel Osteen's videos, if you haven't yet. He's a preacher with a mega church and people tend to love or hate him, for whatever reasons. Aside from that, I believe his messages are helping people as a big part of his focus is on being positive and positive self talk - it reminds me of positive affirmations. And, some of his messages on these topics have really helped me reframe my mindset and change some negative behaviors or negative thought processes. I just wanted to share that with you since you mentioned affirmations as well as spirituality! Thank you for your feedback - it's so helpful!

You did some pretty cool DIY too, I was carnavore for a while and stopped so I wouldn't watch videos of that. What stands out the most to me on your channel is you want results, you won't be applying 10 skincare products to "hopefully" improve skin, you go right to what works, and that goes the same for supplements xx

Hi Holly, more videos from you will always be welcome whatever the topic is. I always take something helpful away from it, even if it's just being more inspired. I like your vlogs, natural health and DIY videos, which is everything. The knife forging you mentioned or that flagstone paver project would make great videos. I can relate to burning out at a job. I'm feeling it right now at mine. Thanks for making Monday better. I hope everything works out at least as well as you're expecting. Thanks for including your cats in your videos, especially that part at the end. And I noticed that head swoosh sound effect you added. I'm still keeping you in my prayers concerning your sleep challenges, which will hopefully improve soon if not already.

Hans, thank you for your thoughts on this. That flagstone paver project absolutely must get done as soon as the ground is thawed enough or the weather is ok enough for me to do it. It was the largest project I ever took on and I've never let something go unfinished like this has gone - for a couple years now. I was working on it, even last summer, but I never had enough time to fix and finish it. I will definitely take everyone along for the experience. I'm glad you like the cats in the videos too! I like to do that from time to time or whenever possible. And, than you for keeping me in your prayers! :)

Thank you for such a kind comment! I notice similar comments from others who are apprehensive about microneedling. I think I may end up doing a video just for this - for anyone who bought one but is apprehensive to get started. I would highly recommend doing a treatment with it at a very low depth - either 0.25mm if very apprehensive and if you feel fine there, you could always go up to 0.5mm, which can still produce excellent results. At 0.25mm, it really shouldn't hurt much at all, and then you'll get a good feel for it and understand what to expect. If you find that it is too painful, you can lower it to around half that depth and you'll definitely be fine! So you can at least start out slow and work your way into it until you're comfortable! I believe you can get excellent results at home.

I’ve just found your channel. I was drawn to your video 4 months ago about your breast lump and the MRI contrast issue. You were wanting to get an ultrasound and see where you went after that. I would appreciate an update from you about that please. Reason for my interest is I had a routine 3D mammogram and ultrasound in February (my GP won’t prescribe HRT unless I get these tests annually for she is scared of breast cancer). The 3D mammogram showed nothing sinister. The ultrasound however showed Birad 4 lump in R breast and a Birad 3 in the L breast. They wanted me to have a biopsy of each to rule out cancer. I refused the biopsy as I don’t think sticking a needle into lumps is such a good idea, shouldn’t that aggravate them or cause them to spread? So my GP referred me to a breast surgeon who wanted to take them out. I refused this, because I don’t think surgery on something that only might be sinister is a smart move, so I am now off to have a contrast MRI at the end of May. My research on the contrast lead me to your video 4 months ago. Other research on breast cancer has alerted me to the fact that our medical system seems to search for something to be wrong with our breasts so they can take them out or off, when it seems to me there’s a good chance even if there was breast cancer it may never develop further and cause trouble. Also there’s the fact that if they are suspicious ductal carcinoma in suto, this means they are contained in their cell and therefore are not technically cancer. I also think from a glance at your videos you are carnivore or keto. I’m mainly ketovore so am very excited with finding you. I live in Australia and am 61. Thank you in advance if you reply to me.

@LifeDIY 23 күн бұрын
Anita, thank you for your comment! You found me at a good time. I recently recorded my update video and I am in the process of editing it. I had a lot more to share in the video, but regarding my issue - there is nothing for me to worry about, and I will get checked out again in one year. It took me ages to find someone to get me scanned (ultrasound) and the results are totally normal, with just some areas of cysts that are the same as the last time I was checked. I am really happy about it. Thanks for sharing some of your story and experiences. It is so difficult to navigate these situations. I think it's good you're standing up for yourself and doing what you think is best for you, after getting consultations with these doctors. If you have the contrast MRI, at least you'll know for sure the status of your situation. It's interesting that your ultrasound showed a Birad 4 lump, while the 3d mammogram did not show anything. This seems very odd. I think some doctors/surgeons prefer to get rid of the issue altogether through surgery, even if it's not exactly necessary (that happened in my situation). Their approach is really aggressive. I did have one biopsy done in the past and I feel like it put me more at ease afterwards, knowing it was not cancerous. But, people should do what they're comfortable with. I really hope the MRI goes well and that the findings are benign. If you ever want to chat, I recently created a forum on my site here: lifeanddiy.com/forum/. Either way, I hope you stop back with an update and I hope it goes well!

You may have already done something like this, but I confess I am new to your channel, and something I have been curious about is estrogen cream for facial aging? I am specifically interested in seeing the results and impacts on the under eye area? Also, thank you for your exceptional content.

I haven't! But, I have heard good things about it. Maybe I can try it in the future and do a video on it. I'd love to experiment with it. :) Thanks!

You should do more outdoors stuff. Health is great but balancing it out with living and learning would definitely be a great step forward. Homesteading ideas, natural high quality food prepping, how to be more self sufficient, while going on interesting adventures. I would love to see you branch out. You are always helping people while you learn and grow.

Thanks, James! I LOVE this idea. I'm hoping I can do it because I would like to branch out more into that myself. I really want to get chickens...and share more of what you mentioned. :)

I like the variety but you have such a younger looking skin that I would love to know more about the way you manage to keep a healthy skin. I would also love tips for people on a budget.

Hi! Did you have malar bags before diet? Did they go away?
@LifeDIY
@LifeDIY Ай бұрын
Hi Karolina. Well, I still do have some bags under my eyes but I had it way worse years ago. I actually did a video on this exact topic here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btuChbaKs9bej4U.html - so changing my diet really did help fix the bags, but for me they went away when I stopped having inflammatory foods or foods I was sensitive to (dairy and gluten). Dairy is one of the worst culprits in my opinion, for bags under the eyes (not speaking of hereditary issues). Mine got a lot better when I also stopped having seed oils. :)

Wow, thank you. I did a treatment 2 months ago. I sometimes go 4+ months or even longer without doing it. But, I do love doing treatments here and there. I do notice it still helps. :)

I know! I will be real careful about this during the summer coming up. For anyone reading, if you find an engorged tic on you and remove it, you can put in a bag and send it to get tested. I've used ticknology before: www.ticknology.org/order-test for about $40 and you get the results really fast. I was so lucky back in 2020 as mine had no issues at all.

Instead of asking what people want (because the internet is billions of people who all want different things,) I'd focus more on what you think you can offer. What experience, knowledge, interests, passions do *you* have, that you can see yourself spending endless hours making videos about? The beauty of the internet is that there is a market for everything. If you're interested in something, there are plenty of others that are too. So stick to what you know, and what you are interested enough in that it won't become a drag to spend a lot of time and effort on.
