Introducing the all-new BMW M4!
That’s right, Mat’s finally got his hands on the new M4 Competition! We know certain elements (👀) of the M4’s design may not be to everyone’s taste, but does the new M4 offer enough changes elsewhere to help you overlook them?
Well with it being a BMW M, we need to start with performance… And we can assure you that the new M3 & M4 do NOT disappoint! With a 3-litre straight-six turbo, they can put down a whopping 510hp and 650Nm, while it can easily shoot you to 60mph in under 4 seconds!
But of course, we know you’re probably still not happy with that new grille. But let’s be honest, given it was announced so long ago, aren’t we all kind of used to it now? Or are you still so disappointed you can’t bear to look yet?

I've gone from hating that grille with a passion to really liking it. Especially on the M4. It works much better on the M than the 440. It looks great in that color and the car is a beast.

Depends on what you're looking for in a shoe. If you want a shoe that's comfy to wear and does its job you might not care much about its looks. Same with a car, if you are looking for a practical estate you might not be that picky when it comes to its looks. But this is a fucking M4 and it has to look awesome! Yet it looks ridiculous!

Most of the sports cars rear seats are bonkers, unusable. I like the practicality of the car with good boot space and rear seats that are really good to sit on. One thing I would like to see laserwire or wire-leds in the back lights like the new M4 CSL. I like this car so much. This will definately give a good mpg. And will prove the best daily driven car.

There was no doubt the M4 was going to be a great car, given the design. As it’s been consistently given max thumbs up against its true rivals, I expect we’ll get used to the face through exposure, just like Bangles wonderful, timeless E60.

Whether BMW hit it or not with this car, in terms of the styling, they did act boldly, it is fresh looking, and looks far more like what it is, a high performance sport coupe, or a highly advanced muscle car, and having seen several presentations of the car, it is starting to appeal to me. Mechanically and dynamically all say it is outstanding and a substantial improvement over the last generation. Interior is smart, switch gear is refined, room for four, sizable trunk, e-lsd. Now if it was truly beautiful and embodied the silhouette of a glorious creature of prey wouldn't it be smashing!

The S58 as we know it in the tech field is actually proving itself quite well. This car and its setup, even though you're loosing maybe 0.5 second launch 0-60 and 1/4 mile times from lets say the M5 or M8 Competition models, it's hard to justify a $10-20k USD price difference in terms of performance going to the bigger rides. The M4 and 4 series body designs do take a while to grow on you.

I thought that initially, but I think it will be a future classic. We are entering a generation of electric, where grills will be a thing of the past. Creating the biggest functional grill on a car could be a homage to what has come before it. Eventually they will just be blanked out.

Stunning car. I also didn't like the front/grill of the new 4 series at the start, and I still don't really love it on the normal 4, but on this M4 I think it really fits and is glorious. RS4 and AMG C63 look bland in comparison, imo. A sportscar should be allowed to look extravagant!

This generation M Power cars are too good. Like the grill or not people just can't skip the S63 and S58 engine. X5/6M, M5M8, X3/4M and M3/4 sell very well in luxury performance car market. In this market people know very well what they want. What the keyboard haters say doesn't matter at all.

Ref 9'39" I don't think you are correct about the track tyres requiring upgraded wheels. The track tyres are only available on the 826M alloys which is the standard fitment wheel. Still £850 to change from PS4S to PSC2 is a rip off - you could almost buy a full set of Cup2 tyres for that money.

The only other car I've seen in a stock colour that bright was the Mercedes sls AMG electric drive, practically came with a high vis. Watch Jeremy Clarkson with the sls on top gear.

@@lesediskhosana1658 What design language? lol, the new cars dont follow any design language at all. And the designer have removed literally every design feature that BMWs have had since the 70`s. The 4 series and 8 series are Mustangs with different tailights and front and others cars like the 1 series is a hilariously ugly copy of the Lexus CT200h.
