Your back of the hand swatches are the BEST! They are the first I have seen that truly show the nuanced magic of these shadows. I have had this palette for a week and am loving it so much, it’s like nothing else I have ever seen. Beautiful.

This palette is what I consider to be a 'foundation necessary' palette to look good in these types of earthy colours.

Ah, I sense a fellow high contrast person like me! I am cool and high contrast ( Winter) and suspect lovely Martina is too, but warm and high contrast Spring will also need to tread carefully with these muted tones. Foundation turns up the contrast by clearing the canvas. This helps the eye focus on the contrast between the skin and other features instead of being distracted by texture and inconsistent color within the skin itself. You're quite right!

It’s such a beautiful palette! The arm swatch with all of the shades was just so lovely. It’s not just that it’s pretty and there are several looks to be had, but the tones are more subdued and muted than other blues, greens, etc I have. It’s a totally unique vibe from anything else I have. And the Byredo big palette formulas are impeccable!! I’m so glad we’re getting another video with more looks, too! Yay!! My pickiest changes if I had to tweek things… I wish one of the bottom row dark blues had been a brown of some sort, I wish one of the gold metallics had been a silver, and I wish there was one more matte …possible a cool brown but I don’t know what shade I would switch out for it.

This is not my color story AT ALL, but I got it anyway, because Remembrance was my most used palette last year. I have had Mineralscapes for a couple days and am having so much fun playing with all of these colors and getting out of my warm comfort zone. I know it is expensive, but last year's palette actually helped to talk me out of other purchases, because I could dupe them with it! Maybe that's just girl math... 🤷♀ 😂😍

I'm new to this brand, and this gorgeous palette is my first Byredo purchase. Your swatches are beautiful -- they really show the nuances in the shades. Thank you for taking such care with their presentation! I have a quick question: how do you think the shadows compare (in quality, pigmentation, smoothness, etc.) to those in their permanent 5 Shadow palettes? Byredo certainly has an eye for original colour stories! It would be great if the quality was the same.

Finally got the Sigma dual color corrector, goodness I like it better than the CT, Bobbi brown, and all the others. I want to try the ND, and the Givenchy as they are my two newest fav concealers. I love how the Sigma has a corrector and includes a brighter to help mask it SO SMART !!

I can't say about the quality of these shadows but colorwise they remind me a lot of eyeshadows from Mac, the good old Mac days. Thank you for your good work, hand swatches are abs gorgeous!

epic finger swatches tysm! i like hearing you describe each shade too but perhaps there aren’t many shifts to the colors? it was nice to see the blues compared when i switch some shades around i see a row of muted greens, pinks/lavender and blue

I had to get it from Selfridges and pay $35 to ship. It’s sold out everywhere. So now people have it on eBay and poshmark for waaay too much money. I missed out on the Kalahari and have never found it for a decent price so to me selfridges was my only option. You did a beautiful look.

The palette looks stunning! The only reason I'm not getting it is because I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything with over 12 shades this year (save for ND, ABH and HB releases), but the packaging is just incredible

I tried the polite society foundation today. I think you'd really like it if you haven't tried it. It has covered, sets without powder, looks radiant, and has not settled in my forehead liner, mouth wrinkles, or texture.

Your swatches are the best. It looks gorgeous but many of tones are not my go to- tend to rarely use deep blues and greens. Thanks to you I got Rabanne feel my vibe and I love it x (why is nobody else talking about it?! Also very fairly priced, great packaging)

Since you own both palettes, I wonder how close you think Mineralscapes is to Oden's Eye Christmas Eve, because the moment I saw this palette it reminded me of a slightly more muted version of Christmas Eve and I wonder if there are any comparable colours.

Ohh good point! This one is definitely more of a muted, softer version and Xmas eve is a lot more vibrant and intense. Both palettes are very very different formulas too but I will try and remember to include a comparison pic in my 5 looks video xx

Hi Martina, this might seem a bit random but I would love to see this palette swatched next to the Dior backstage Smokey palette that you reviewed. I’m in the market for a palette of “one and done” shadows but I’m pale as milk. My shade is literally 0N in everything 😂 really torn between these two.

Never tried the Byredo YET that is, just have not found a palette that I know I would use enough to justify the cost….. I have so many PML palettes I have only used once, one I haven’t even used yet. I can tell how amazing the formula it is by just watching the swatch, looks so dang smooth. I know one day a Byredo will drop that will have my eye and heart. Let’s talk about that dang Chanel 388, that damn palette was the FIRST one I wanted and badly wanted…. Not cool that every other country besides the US are stocked it. People are now selling it for 2/3 hundred plus by getting their hands on it from other countries ERRG so upsets me.

I have hooded eyes. Lasts all day and night for me. ;) Eyeshadows last way longer than twelve months. Just clean your hands and tools. 😇

Can second this wore impeccably on my eyes all day. The expiry usually is only how long they tested it for but quite often particularly with eyeshadows they will last a lot longer. I've got palettes with a 12 month expiry that I've had over two years and they are still perfect formula wise xx

so... i have it and i have sooo many high end palettes... and this is the most dissapointing for the price. it is my first experience with this brand. i can't say anything bad about how they shipped it, about the the communicatio, anything. but the product is not wow at all. in my opinion is mediocre at best. it has fallowt, a bunch of it, only 2 are shimmers and 2 are matte. I like that they are creamy, but the fallowt oh my gosh! i hope that i will change my mind, but the price... just buy ismaya... i do not understand the price and hype for this brand for now

Isamaya French actually developed this formula. She was their original beauty brand director, after Burberry, and before her own brand. I have three of the four big palettes from Byredo, including this one. I have never had any fallout. Isamaya said early on she developed the formula for finger application because she wanted it to feel intuitive and artistic. I have successfully used them with synthetic flat brushes, but I prefer finger application. I have seen one other reviewer mention fallout; she was using Sonia G brushes. That struck me because someone else specifically said don’t use Sonia G or similar natural brushes with the shadows. Again, I’ve not had any issue, but that specificity stuck with me. So I suspect the tools may be diminishing your experience. I have every Pat palette and almost all the ND; I’d happily pitch em all to only keep my Byredo palettes. I used to do makeup in the early 2000s and this is the best shadow formula I’ve ever used. For me, it’s unparalleled. I hope you find what works for you so you can truly enjoy it or maybe find this palette a lucky loving home. Goodness knows it’s wanted out there! 🥰

Mine is on the way and I actually considered getting the Isamaya palette instead. I hope I don't regret my purchase. I was just feeling the combo of cool-tones green, purple, and blue with some neutrals. Fingers crossed!

Oh that's a shame you don't love it. We are all different so it might not be a formula for you which is totally ok. I personally haven't had any issues with fallout at all. Do you mean as it wears during the day or during application? xx

@@thedylangirlIndeed! That is why I decided to buy this one. I searched for the history of this brand as i was not interested in any other product from their line before. Once I saw this color story and knew that ismaya was in this brand before, made me go ahead and bite the bullet. But her palettes are muuuch better, those have the je ne se qua that this one is missing for me. I used it with natural hair brushes from Rephr. I di not use them with fingers as the ismaya palette was geeting a bit hard pan after using it like that so I was sceptical. You use it only with fingers and then? how do you blend them? I need to understand how I could make myself fall in love with it cause I love the color, but not the formula.

I got mine today and gasped when I opened the palette. Next to the Remembrance palette it is truly one of the most beautiful palette I have ever seen. I cannot believe how easy it is to use. It’s so inspiring and a breath of fresh air. I’m thrilled with this and do not regret getting it. I’d regret not getting it! I cannot recommend it enough. Especially for cool toned low grade colors. Ugh it’s made my heart pitter patter and it’s been a looooong time since a palette did that to me. 🩵🤍💙🩶🩷
