I’d love to see a “3 looks made from my edited palette” type of video after these duping the vibes videos, I’m always so curious to see how you put them to action.

This is such an important video! I wish every makeup lover could watch it! Every single time I see a new eyeshadow palette release, I just feel like frustrated. Because how many eyeshadow palettes do we really need? It’s all the same thing over and over, and let’s be real, when we buy a palette, how often do we actually ever use the whole thing up? Single shadows are so underrated outside of the professional working MUA community. We can make so many combinations of palettes if we just like you did here, have a collection of single shadows that we rotated in and out of a small palette.

The palette turned out very well, Hannah! The color scheme is very elegant and a bit mysterious. I have a video idea that you might like. Have you thought of doing a makeup look inspired by a book? For instance, a Wuthering Heights look (obviously, it would be rather smokey! 😀). The looks don't have to be too literal (no pun intended), but more like inspired by the vibe of the book. It would be something like duping Pride and Prejudice. They could also be inspired by literary characters (an Irene Adler look, for example). It could become a series, if people liked it and you enjoyed it. What do you think? I apologize if you have already done something like this. I love these videos! Curating palettes is like shopping at your own boutique of eyeshadows. It’s always nice to avoid excess consumerism, but these videos hit a little differently now that we are shopping from one rack at the boutique rather than the tiny store you had before. Always a fan though, and I hope you continue the series.

The swatching really does bring out the colours in a new way. I love the visual transformation of the colour story.

I'm on a no/low buy and one of the things I've done this year is depot a bunch of palettes into singles so that I can "dupe the vibes" of new palettes so I don't have any sadness over products I don't buy. I have a huge amount of eyeshadow in every shade and many textures with only two eyes and buying more just seems ludicrous to me now.

Your rings really got me today, but instead of running out and buying some, I turned to my dish of single earrings and whipped up some finger jewelry. Duping the vibes is a truly omnipotent skill 🔥

I've always loved your duping the vibes palettes and frequently send others towards them when they're wanting thoughtful insight on why or why not they should buy a palette. This one though, you said something that's a game changer. Well, not specifically one thing, but many things that I guess sum up to, 'these undertones/saturations/hues fit my life and my complexion better, and can serve the same purpose for me, even though they're different. They pass the vibe check.' Despite having a rollercoaster of a ride with makeup and falling victim to trends I *knew* weren't good for me (ahem, highlighter and liquid lipsticks), I've always been pretty good at sticking to my guns about eyeshadow and what shadows work for me if I'm going to go through the hassle of doing eyeshadow on my hooded eyes. So, I would always look at every single palette you were referencing and think, "Gosh, so pretty! I love the color story concept... but its too warm and I'd never enjoy it." But now I'm thinking... well, what if I just shifted it from warm to cool/neutral tones? I might just "dupe the vibes" for myself, but maybe more... desert a dusk than desert at sunrise. It's also just a really good mental exercise! I also think I might go back to old school palettes I've always admired from afar (Modern Renaissance) and try my hand at cooling it down. I love those pinks and corally orange looks good on me, but the warm neutrals are such a train wreck. I feel you 100% on that. I will say, if you ever come across a really nice, eggplanty purple that isn't streaky... I think your eyes would dazzle. WHY do purples have to be so hard? They look so good on almost everyone.

You and Angelica influenced my purchasing of abrasion and forge and they are so stunning and doing something similar has meant for me that I have only now added my first palette for the year as I have had so much fun playing with a curated 9 pan of singles I use 5x each and rotate out. Very enjoyable video Hannah. What seems to stand out to me, in these new shadows that you tried to dupe, were colours that are softer, almost transparent (esp. the matts). They would definitely work, as you have said, very well for an almost no eye shadow with a strong bold lip makeup look.

I would buy your version of these palettes. I love grungier tones, and you don't see those a lot in popular makeup.

i like oranges but not orangey neutrals as well! this was the video i needed to move on from the Remembrance and Too Faced palettes 😂. i really enjoy Byredo’s formula but i’m already happy with Kalahari whereas this one is too monotone to hold my interest. i don’t have as extensive of a singles collection but i loved seeing your overall process & breakdown. the 12 shades you picked were beautiful xx

The swatches look like the best of ABH palettes. Interesting grunge if Sultry, subculture, ect. Primary color stories on my pale olive skin lack artistic clarity and combat my features on many levels. It reads unresolved costume. But this olive, grunge, color story that resolves to complex taupes in the full look? Superb work Hannah! This is full on evidence that Lethal or Cliohnah (yes, Canadian multichromes is misspelled) need to give you an artistic opportunity. Odin’s eye is apparently very restrictive with the briefs. It’s less of a collab. Well done and further good luck!

I caved and bought Byredo Kalahari (and do really like it, plus I can see myself using it as a cheek palette too) but this new one they’re released looks the same but without the blues and greens so I think I’m good.

I bought way too many of the color sticks on a black friday blackout once so can make some color suggestions if you need! I know its an overwhelming array (although those shades were primarily still from the Isamaya days but there's some good shades... and some duds...)

I just need to spill my truth. I hate these overhead videos, they are pretty dull, especially since the declutter but I do love the commentary. I feel what would make this great is that doing this would be if the video started with a hyper-lapse of Hannah choosing the shadows, a real-time asmr type swatch montage with some sweet swatches lo-fi... and arranging them in the pallet, next providing the inspo behind the colours along with the cometary and then finally doing a bit of old skool YT a 3 looks 1 palette kinda video ( in a makeup play time kind of way) just saying I'd watch that on repeat but it would be a nice long video that I would sit down to choose some makeup and have makeup playtime with my makeup. Like those guided two-hour-long sleep meditations but for makeup. We need makeup meditations 🧘‍♀️
