xpro3 is by far my favorite digital camera and owned many fujis. For analog i feel you

Absolutely respect you for finding a camera/format/system that speaks to you and works for you. I love my XPro 3 and other Fuji's but if you were to strip them from me I would probably go in deep with film like you. And in the future I will probably upgrade from my Olympus OM1, but it seems like you really just dove in there and I'm more of a doggy paddler right now. So, much respect to your craft and grats on the temporary GAS release ;)

Honestly, I'm thinking of getting a G1 as my professional back up for my shoots haha. Good thing i'm knee deep in vibrations and attracting :)

I'm superkeen for the X-Pro3, but you should get a late-gen film Nikon with modern Sigma ART if AF is your thing ;)

There's only two problems with those Contax cameras; a) too expensive and b) really, really hard to fix if electrics go bust. So I'll recommend a perfect film camera for your needs (fashion that is), which you cam get almost for peanuts these days: a Canon EOS3. You can pair it with all contemporary new or used EF glas, the auto focus is out of this world even by today's standards. Yes, it's bulkier than your Contax cameras but cheeeeaper, and you have about 30 million of lenses to choose from 😜

Thankfully, I've been fortunate with my cameras, to not have any issues despite the horror stories. BUT, if anything were to go wrong, since I live in London, PPP does incredible work--he fixes all the impossible Contax systems for a really really good price. Also, I've heard about the Canon film systems. I wish I would have discovered it years ago haha. But, I actually loved the systems I've fell into. They work with my type of flow of shooting--more visceral than technical.

Why would you do paid work with a 35mm camera? Might as well use your phone. Medium format 645 minimum was used by pros in the past, with 35mm relegated to reportage and sports. Today’s digital sensors produce much better results and faster. I own a Leica M3, Pentax K1000, Olympus OM2 and Bronica SQa but I’m way past the “film” honeymoon.
