The whole Cathedral range is pretty good from Iceland imo. Their Sausage rolls are the best though.

Hi Gareth, laal cooking hack.. If the oven time is quite long but you don't want the finish a microwave can sometimes have on certain foods.. Microwave for a few minutes then bang it in the oven for quarter of the normal cooking time.. The food is cooked and has the oven finish.. Crispy.. If you know what I mean and a lot less electricity used so cheaper.

this looks completely the opposite of the lasagne i bought in waitrose yesterday. the waitrose one did have enough beef in it, but i laughed at the cheese on the top. now i know it wasnt advertised as a "cheesy" lasagne but honestly there was about 6 little pieces of grated cheese on top. i had to laugh. maybe waitrose should work with cathedral city and produce a decent "all rounder" ??? 😄

Hi Gareth! I watched this video a couple of weeks ago, and on that I bought one. I’ve just had it for my tea and in your words, “it’s tasty! It IS tasty!”. I didn’t pick up on the saltiness but the cheese flavour was good! Very enjoyable! Keep the reviews coming mate! 👍🏻

Haha. I had seen the instructions when he showed us the side of the box and I was shouting, 'No!' when I saw him tear the bag off. I'd have shoved it back in the bag and microwaved it anyway. I'm sure it would have turned out just fine.

Hey Bald, next time you get an order in from Sainsburys could you give their "Taste the difference" range a go please? I'd like to see what the likes of their Cottage Pie, Lasange ect are like. I think you can get the range in both fresh and frozen sections. Cheers!

The frozen Cathedral City range in Iceland is excellent. I would highly recommend the cauliflower cheese with a Sunday roast. Sorry I missed last night, hope to be able to watch the next one

Don't worry about being out the packet. I do the frozen lasagnas in a casserole dish with lid on in the microwave, works the same if not better. Lidl one is excellent and better value.

Hardly any meat, scrape it all together and it will barely cover a desert spoon, it's ok for emergencies, come home no time to make anything, stick it in the microwave or its on offer.

That was a happy mistake gaz couse done in the microwave it looks nothing like that it's just molten and larva microwaved I dont like it myself but the daughter loves them I said to her next time do it in the air fryer so going show her this it looks well better thanks for sharing

This is *very* high in calories for one meal, over 800 calories. I could eat half one day and save the other half, but the manufacturer could have simply divided it in two in the packet so that half could be cooked separately if wished.

I'm not sure what ingredients you're using. My "cheapest" lasagna costs twice that much to make. Ground beef, tomato sauce, lasagna noodles, cheese, heavy cream.... that's $15 or about £13. The cheese and beef alone is $10. I'm not factoring in the cost of pantry staples like salt, pepper, chili flakes, garlic, nutmeg, oil, flour, etc. Add in my favorite....mushrooms and that's another $2. The UK must be far cheaper in food than the US for you to make a full lasagna for £6.40

Ground beef : $4.50/lb, about the same for cheese, lasagna: $1, "tinned" tomato sauce : $1.80, heavy cream : $2.50......after tax that is easily $15 for homemade lasagna (which is still cheaper and better than the frozen alternative). Our price of ground beef has gone up 10% in one year. Same goes for fruits and vegetables. Milk is up 15%. Chicken 18%. Our price for eggs is 38% higher than last year! In 2022 the United States has had the largest food price increase since 1979.

It needs more cheese, which wouldnt be a problem as i always keep that cheese well stocked. It gets added to everything. When it overflows the container, then i stop adding..

I’ve sometimes thought of trying Tesco special meals, as they are only like a quid more than standard meals, but then see most of them require basically an hour in the oven, so adding another quid lol

@@darkvader7231 the average price of electricity is 52 p/kWh. Modern ovens like a NEFF have a 13A plug. It would take an oven about 10m to reach 180 deg C. Maintaining that temperature would depend on the thermal efficiency of your oven. I suspect that it would cost significantly less than £1 however you would need to measure it. I may give it a try to find out.

Doesn't look too bad, I tried the Mac n Cheese and as a big fan of their cheddar (went through the 1kg bag from the Food Warehouse in like a week) I found it to be too rich, which is odd.
