PS-There is overwhelming proof Dash is taking a percentage of the customers tip for profit, and the rest to the driver. Papa John's managers have shown me on the app/tablet. EVERY day they see how much Dash steals. This shouldn't be a surprise for anyone who Dashes. In Dec I caught them taking $21 of a $100 tip....Taco Bell manager states they have had the suspicions too (but I do not think they have the app/tablet). Class Action Lawsuit incoming.

Now you understand how corporations don’t give a crap about you. Work extra extra hard and you will get better orders. Sell me this today at half price because tomorrow I’m going to buy a lot more. The beatings will continue until morale improves. This is the oldest truck in the books and you guys fall for it. There is NO RAINBOW just an empty promise with 10 others behind you I’m working on next. If nobody fell for this they would stop but …….. They punish you for cheap customers. How about forcing higher tipping percentages from the customers instead of “tricking” the fools to take the scraps they offer. My acceptance rate once went to 11% for like an hour. I’m not running crap orders! IM NOT! Promise me the world and deliver Alabama. You’ve been had!

Yea im a TD in brooklyn ny and haven't made more than a $100 in a day in 3 weeks. I've been sitting at shop and pay Hotspots for 3-4 hours with nothing popping up. 90%AR 4.9 rating 100%/ completion and 85% on time.

Hey Mike, Something that I noticed this weekend with stacked orders. I got three of these this weekend and here's how it works. You get a stacked order from 2 restaurants with 2 different customers. Here is the pay breakdown... One order fee for $2, one promo pay for $5 (two promos going at that time), and 1 tip. So you are doing a delivery COMPLETELY FREE. They still charge the customer full fees, but pay us $0. They keep 100% of the fees. so every delivery like this I was losing at least $7+ per delivery... Maybe you have some insight into this?

Yeah, I think you should get base pay on both orders when they are stacked. I think this might eventually result in a class action lawsuit against DoorDash.

Unless it's REALLY AWESOME PAY, I will not take your typical stacked offer. Every time we take a stacked offer, Tony makes an additional $2.00 that we are no longer earning. However, I'm getting a TON of stacked offers every single shift, moreso than before, when we were getting (at that time) $2.50 per order. It's a sneaky, devious way to line DD's pockets and stealing it away from the dashers. I'm happy to take reasonable add on offers because I'm getting a base pay for each. In addition, I have been seeing a combo of shopping and restaurant offers, but going to two different customers. These are also absurd. That poor customer whose McDonald's order has been sitting in the restaurant, is waiting longer because the dasher is shopping for 12 items (including at least that one hard-to-find item) for another customer. Yeah, Door Dash really cares for their customers and that they get their food as hot and fresh as possible. Geez!

Drivers pay won't change until inflation cools more and wages go up. Right now Manny people need those 4 hours a week just to make ends meet. Make no mistake the whole business model is based on exploiting peoples need for flexible hours and extra money

Hi, Mike. I'm a dasher in NY. My problem with Door dash is that I don't take too kindly for the customers to be rating us or have our phone numbers. You don't see them rating the Chinese or Italian people who deliver food. So, why should we be rated. Here's another thing, when they offer the promo pay which is only for 2hrs . You only get 2 orders in 1hr. And, God forbid the delivery is long distance and then you're really are screwed. They need to stop giving these customers all these breaks and charge them a real price and get rid of these low paying orders. It's not worth the gas. Let's say that you let the timer run out on a low order then they'll send you that same low order again and you let the timer run out again. Now, your percentages are lowered. Then they send you a stacked order and guess what that same low order is one of the stacked order. They'll give you a high order along with the low order and if you break the price down for both orders now both of those orders become low paying orders. Door dash sucks.

Last week I dashed fot 3 hours and got 4 orders (middle of the afternoon between lunch and dinner). I got one Dennys and three automotive deliveries (1 set of four tires snd two oil deliveries).

I don't know where they get the average time worked. Everyone i see while dashing are out there all day long. Our pay has dropped due to oversaturation and I have noticed that they prioritize the per hour over per order. Make active time has dropped and my the amount of deliveries i get has dropped with most under $4 and under $1 per mile, including stacked orders

Im new to dashing just started in January. I also have the red card. Over the last week, I've been getting more grocery orders wich in general pay more. I've also started getting multiple stops for the same person. It's all gravey to me because it just adds more money for each stop. My area is pretty saturated with dashers so for me, the more stops the better.

Got a u haul order today. I looked at it for 10 seconds like 🧐 - $10 for 3 miles. It was 20 small boxes, 10 book boxes. It was leave at door and customer said leave at my garage and the tip said “not eligible” U HAUL??

Doing doordash for over 8 years now , san diego , and palo alto , how ever i calculate at the end it comes to 10 buks per order delivered profit , maybe it happed to u guys too But these days in san diego area i keep getting different kind if order , car parts like break pad etc small items, not bad but no tip , it says not eligible for tip , do u guys had same orders like me Thanks for video u r the best

Not all correct. Uber Eats has just as many different delivery types as Doordash. Restaurant, shop and pay, packages, store pickups, and of course you can always do all that with passenger rides too.

This is very true in my market as well. Uber Eats had just overtaken Point Pickup clients, Shoprite and other local Groceries stores. Its been a game changer in individual and stacked orders. The earnings has increased for sure.

True but they typically are a lagging competitor. They added package pick up after DD and they don’t have the parter scale that DD has. On the call Tony said they have more selection than any other competitor. Same order types yes plus rideshare.

Uber Eats is always open for business in both Passenger and food delivery. I guess it depends. I do know that Uber Eats has blown up in my market all the sudden.

For most dashers, that would be a nightmare. Getting huge orders of things like concrete, 2x4s, mulch, etc. Most people don't have a vehicle for that and the weight of these items would also be a challenge for most dashers. I think if it was an opt-in delivery in the app, like they do shop and deliver, it would be OK. Let the dashers that have the trucks and want this type of work take it. They could even pay a bonus pay for large/heavy items. Could be put under Dash preferences for that type of delivery, for example, Large and Heavy.

I wish I could afford to only dash 4 hrs a week! Bull on that. Peak-pay has gone down and hourly pay? Getting orders 20 miles away, for $13 an hr., just not worth it when you have to drive all the way back off the clock with no orders coming in. They should make tipping mandatory, even a small amount. DD knows people are hurting and taking full advantage. They are a necessary predatory evil.

Most of my orders are grocery orders with DoorDash and I’ve seen more liquor deliveries that go to my hometown from where I work.

If you have a low AR it's my understanding that you won't get high paying orders. According to DD you need to be a top dasher (which I am) to get priority orders. I've been in touch with DD review board regarding sending TD orders under $7 which lowers AR. Which is it? Priority orders as TD or not? It's blackmail to get us to to keep TD rating.

got a 107 dollar 7 stack the other day. 55 miles. All single item "repeat delivery" bags of food from petco. 85 dollars of it was doordash basepay. Took me just a little over 2 hours to finish. I would take those all day if they offered more orders like that.

A lot more of these must be in busy city's. In southwest Michigan rual area I have not got an order to shop with dd dont get me wrong I have not done it a full year yet. Also I feel tips are going down seeing a lot more orders with $2 only for how many ever miles.

Also when the launched the shopping orders there was a premium. Now the pay barely is about the same as any other dash. They're banking on the abundance of people, and it's noticable as a Dasher.

I’ve been Door Dashing over a year now. I have a full time job and work this as part time but with lots of hours. At first I stayed a Top Dasher when you had to make 100 deliveries that month to keep it (Ex. June 1st to June 30th). Now they came out with this stupid policy that only benefits a dasher who does it on a full time basis which is in order to continue with top dasher ( Platinum) you have to always keep 100 deliveries shown every day. Instead of June 1 to June 30th, now whatever day it is you have to go back to the previous month day (Ex. May 1 to June 1st) and add, subtract it’s awful. If you don’t keep 100 deliveries shown you go down to either Gold or Silver which you will be on schedule. Most of the schedules are always taken. They need to go back to the old procedure way! There’s no way you can keep 100 deliveries like that! They have to be losing drivers.

They are seeing more dashers...What they are not showing is how many drop after a set amount of time... AKA high turnover... They are placing all their eggs in one basket in hopes getting that do not understand the system to take continue to take crap orders.. And when the leave due to not staying in the positive money wise.. They bring in another one... Problem is eventually you run out of temp dashers....And they dont see that.

I got a stacked order with a restaurant while I was shopping Aldi and I accepted it. Big mistake. Took me almost 30 minutes to shop Aldi and then I had to pick up the restaurant order. I'm sure it had been sitting for at least 15 minutes.

My pay has dropped over the last six weeks..i was getting high priority every other order..yes something switched..then all i started receiving shop and deliver orders i would get three or four in a row...pay dropped from making average 20hr..to 14hr... trust me I called them... changed for 3 days

In my market pay total for orders has dropped considerably. As well as volume. Uber eats is surprisingly better. I make about the same as I would a Top Dasher on DD without sacrificing my standards. DD offers the least flexibility due to having to schedule. This is arguably the most important aspect of "flexibility".

True Uber is now profitable. Profitability isn't the whole story though they're just running more expenses than revenue, could all be R&D etc. It's all spelled out in the quarterly filings, I'm not a financial analyst so I can't really give any insight there.

Their attitude of abundance towards dashers is noticeable as a Dasher. They're constant fluctuations on how they pay, and how they deal with tips has left me cynical of them.

I believe it. If they paid more we'd be in it more and use other apps less and less. We'd all be top dashers if the base pay made every order worth delivering regardless of how much the customer tips. We shouldn't have to rely solely on tips when the company is making billions to our dollars.

6:20 I'd assume the reason for less dasher acquisition cost is because the company is getting to that super large scale. They don't need to spend as much because the idea is already in people's minds. Everyone knows about door dash and that it must be a decent side hustle.

I got an order from a Staples like that, it was 3 24 back of water and ink cartridge. $6 for 8miles 😂 Drop that so quick. Unless its a clothing or shoe store, I won’t pick it up.

Don’t DoorDash in Virginia. It’s horrible. $2 for 4 miles, $6 for 12 miles, etc. and the people hardly ever tip. I feel bad for drivers here, thank god I’m only here temporarily.

@@YourDriverMike You know DD and every other gig app has had a long history of continuing to lower base pay. So, when companies say more earnings opportunities, they mean it for themselves, not for us.

Preferred drivers. If you got a good dasher and the customers love the results. More orders will come and that dasher while online, will get boosted specific customers. If they’re not online, a customer can go based another of 3 preferred dashers. Obviously there’s gotta be some parameters like how far is your preferred drivers and if available when the order is made. But if you got good dashers then they should continue to get those big orders. Regardless DD will get good dashers above the crappy ones and customers will get better results. If neither one line up time wise. Then the system go resort back to the traditional top dasher or whoever is near. Weeds out those theft dashers who don’t put in the miles.

That's what it should be based on customer rating not AR .. I gotta 4.9 customer rating but a 7% AR I know that will sink if I start catering to the lower tier customers 😂

If we stand together and I know if will never happen but if we go on stick and don't take the 5 to 7 dollar orders for 5 miles witch will take you at least 30 minutes and when all say and done you will make maybe 2 dollars people will start tipping more our doordash will pay more I will not take anything under 8 dollars because your not making any money people please stop take these 3 to 7 dollar orders because nothing will never change

They are trying to eliminate cherry picking orders in my market in other words if you don’t accept most orders they will only let you dash for one hour in one or two areas 🤯Forcing you to become a top dasher and qualify for Dash anytime

I'm not excited for new types of deliveries. The auto parts deliveries in my area are the absolute worst, They will want you to pick up 100+ pounds worth of brakes rotors and other crap and then drive 10+ miles to an auto shop with dodgy drop off instructions. for 2 to 4 dollars. They can stick their new stuff up their backside.

I've done a few auto parts deliveries to Firestone and a local Tire Pro mechanic. One was for one rotor, the other was for an oil filter and the other was for light bulbs. Each trip was less than 1.2 miles and each payout was between $12.50-$25.25.

You have worse luck than me. Worst I've got was an air filter going about 7 miles for around 15 bucks, it was awful 😂 but I did get screwed over on a few retail orders from other apps. Like 70+ pounds going to the 4th floor only to find out its the wrong stairwell kind of screwed. 😢

Work is work. Just because someone is 4 hours or 10 hours doesn't mean they should be abused or taken advantage of. There is no such thing as 'extra money' in this economy and if you are doing this for 'fun' you should go volunteer for the disabled/elderly and such. Delivering to someone for free (or less) because they'd rather spend their money on a sack of weed and are then broke and too high to drive is no way to work. This isn't a charity though a large percentage of orders are basically that. These plantations need to go and people need to be paid for their work and their expenses and not have to rely on the whims, kindness and morals of strangers - period.

Don’t like the dash marts in my market Ohio (Toledo) low tips, high miles to targeted neighborhoods. Right on about stacking and variety in stops ie food, retail, convenience stores. Very noticeable this February. DD wants turnover because new drivers no question much in the beginning. In the end we like gig work because of the flexibility and the good/bad days that come with it with the goal of minimizing the negative days by being strategic with our AR and knowing our market. It’s a hustle whenever you are there! Stay safe community! Stay on top of your numbers to ensure a level of profitability! Have a plan and work it closely in 2024 to achieve whatever your goals are. The NYC/Seattle regulations are very tricky, I'd love $26+ flat per hour but DD also increased fees to offset regulations which is causing Dashers to get less requests.

⁠@@YourDriverMikei drive in the seattle area and can confirm, at least as far as UE Goes anyways. UE used to ping all the time, and now it rarely ever does. At the same time, I rarely ever accepted UE offers because the pay used to be atrociously bad. Now when I do get a ping, it’s usually acceptable. Really, it just feels like all the annoying rip-off offers got weeded out and it only gives you the good offers. It works decently if you’re multiapping, probably better than before as I have to fudge with my phone a lot less. (Edit:) and I don’t have to worry about getting tip baited anymore, which is quite nice.

I have said it over and over. Majority of dashers are part time. Full time dashers are the oddity. We are the freaks in the freak show. It would be more profitable for doordash to just limit hours in a week. They would get rid of all the dashers complaining about not making enough cause part time dashers don't complain and accept the orders full timers won't. Full timers for greedy and part timers don't care. I'm one of the oddities of the oddities and dash full time keeping my AR almost always above 90% and still make more weekly than majority of other full timers. Is what it is.
