New Contour tower started near Deansgate square in Manchester

The Contour is being built here. In the shadow of Deansgate square at the moment the preparations for building this new tower are under way.

They are building 2 towers on the plot. They are called the Contour Towers. The next phase of New Jackson Street.

Begs the question, that if the people who bought and moved into the pre existing towers next to the new one, did they not realise that they would end up living in the shade and the dark permanently

Yes the model for the area has been there for years and as well as these two being started now, there are 5 more to come in the immediate area

Vision on Whitworth Street, has started too. There will be a cavernous feel to this area soon.

It never going to last. Most are brought for investment and let out to tenants working in city centre

@@jackthelad5366 it's got a few more people that's all. Manchester has the biggest & best university in the country, it's own business quarter, tech community & soon the tallest building in the country along with the best nightlife in the land. Bankrupt Birminham does'nt come close to Manchester.

@@williebobs3830 apparently Leeds has the best uni (one of five)according to student surveys but what would they know, you seem very insecure about Manchester, but keep changing the facts to bolster your insecurity, I believe the totally neutral Sunday Times just voted leeds the best Northern city for most of the attributes you've listed, but I could be wrong

Ha you’re quite a funny bloke (a deluded one) but funny all the same, as northern cities go i think the Sunday times have a valid point about leeds tho, the three cities that shadow the M62 are all pretty decent, just for clarity hull is not included, take care 👍

I prefer the stone buildings, they have some fantastic features. The new stuff is a bit boring. Quick and cheaper to build.

Bit of a silly comment - my mate lives in one of these towers and they are full of local people, and many people who have relocated from elsewhere in the country. They are not really my thing, but this nonsense that they a full of foreigners is miles from the truth.
