the fight is still not good, as it is a beta it was full of bugs, such as going through the claws phase too quickly making the ice unable to grow in the form of an arena, just like Ck's protection ice, as well as the ice protection Ck throw him into the water when he is born, the AI of the claws I also didn't think were good, their range doesn't make sense, sometimes they can attack us without being able to attack them, as well as the terrible fact that the game always focuses on the boss, always needing selecting with the mouse when killing the claws, as well as the claws behind the crabking hitting you, I believe there is still a lot to improve. I also had the impression that the turrets' aim was better, but maybe that was just an impression.
Official changes:
Will taunt before healing
Will now re-ice after taking a threshold of damage or killing all the arms.
Claw AI improved.

I do prefer this over dropping down bees and rowing to dodge the geisers or wolfgang spamming his ice weight to perma freeze. The fact that it costs panflute to solo makes the fight more costly too. I like the bigger picture.

Easier fight, but considering the quest it’s locked behind and everyone’s distaste of being on the ocean in general, I think keeping things do-able for the average player is the way to go on this one! Overall, the right call to dial him waaay back.

Very good point by another, it's honestly okay when solo fights are more expensive, but don't demand more attention than the average player can muster. The thing that always sucked about Crab King before was that you could prepare yourself as best you could, but it took an insane level of timing and focus to not get screwed over by item juggling and boat healing for the average player. This game should be, and is, easier when you play with friends, but that's no reason to make a boss fight as important as Crab King something you can _only_ do with other players. Glad for the change.

Your last speed run tutorial on the merm king was so good! I’d love to see you make some guides about larger things like the ocean as a whole, or each island in the ocean… I just got back into DST and so much changes so often than even year old guides are outdated

Looks fun, however I still dont like how easy it is to drown in this fight. The ice debris is way too intrusive for something thats supposed to just be flavor. It almost makes me too scared to actually get on the ice platform. The boat mechanics are too janky and drowning is way too punishing.

Yes, this is the worst part, because when the ice breaks you always fall, regardless of whether that part would become an ice boat, I believe this will still be corrected, because even in the video the fight is clean, it still has a lot of bugs

The fight is better than it used to be, but with all fairness i think its a bit to easy now. If i compare it , its a milestone boss for another one , like the shadows set pieces, he should at least require a bit of spacial preparation (like shadow usually need cane and mag for tier 3 rook) , and do more damage You just tanker all the damage with a damn foothelm and 0 healing

Yeah, from a cancer boss who required many items to a boss you can kill with hambat and no healing. He needs something in the middle.

I personally think the current difficulty is fine. Comparing it to the fuelweaver questline, the ancient guardian is a joke. As for the shadow pieces, you don't need any special equipment. An ornery beefalo makes dodging their attacks laughably easy.

I think both routes are now of equal difficulty, crab king was the hard outlier. Probably the part of this route I had the most consistent trouble with was the archives and moon staff. Bear in mind after getting the shadow atrium and the gateway there is barely anything stopping you from doing the fuelweaver fight wheras in CC the moonstorms have to be completed first Now that DST is moving to the skill trees I feel like this perfectly balances the routes out. Most people cheesed ck anyway but this makes the fight more interesting and less punishing for 1/4 of the CC route

Some people might agree some people might not, which everyone is absolutely entitled to their own opinions- being said more opinions means seeing things in another way which is great, personally I give creativity 110% klei did think of things that's obviously different the towers, the claws seeming to track the boat in a way, the minons, it dosent take such specific things like ice staff, constantly rowing to Dodge the geiser attack ect. But I'm glad they changed it at least hopefully it's tweaked a bit maybe the cannons/minons be a bit more of a problem but overall better than before

I duno, i felt like at first i was hesitant to ever use the pan flute because it was once considered "finite". Overlooking the deco staff and eventually that they weren't technically finite. But with all these methods where its just overcomplicating to just not use the pan flute, i feel like it needs to either be more accessable, or alt methods or mechanics need to be implemented.

Tanking is even more possible if you exchange gems for others, the large number of minions is due to purple gem

@ameslarii ohh that's what i like to hear. I've always loved the idea of the marble suit since marble is hardly used in anything, easy to obtain, and prettt incredible in use, specially if you math out how much damage you dish vs how much you'll recieve in a time span. As a console player, some of these bosses are just extemely rough to deal with

@@courierz9451 I would also think it's incredible, it's a cool change, but I'm not going to lie, I think it's very difficult for them to make the pan flute useless in this fight. I want to play on console to test the difficulties, especially in the Fw fight which they say is very complicated there due to inventory management and because of the Wovens, maybe when I have a Nintendo Switch and bring gameplays on the console lol

@ameslarii yeah. I wouldnt say inv management persay since on solo you can do a pause to access inventory, but the panflute you can't adjust range so the distance to use is really specific. I really wish there were a lot more youtubers displaying these runs and challenges on console to show real viability of "this is a method anyone can use". I have to resort to slightly more struggle for some, of straight cheese if i just dont want to deal with the extensive fights because it wasn't made with console in mind

Nice fight! I'm always impressed by your anim cancelling. You probably noticed that you were hitting phase 2 right as the claws reached the boat. I'd imagine if you were not anim cancelling you would get wrecked by the claws before triggering phase 2. I think that allocating like another 1k HP to phase 1 would fix this issue and make the first phase more engaging.

Very thx Jazzy!! yes, even with 1.0x characters, it is extremely rare for you to get hit by 3 claws or take more than 1 hit from a single claw if you are canceling the animation making it very fleeting and barely noticeable, I think it is difficult for them to add more life, I believe it's the way they wanted and now they're probably just going to fix the bugs, which are many haha, especially in the ice phase, but who knows, anything could happen

I feel like the cannon things need to be more involved in the fight, maybe kina like toadstools trees? Also, now that ck has a delay before healing, I think the crabs could be sleep immune or resistant some how.

@@jaki1876still negates the strategy part of this fight since that just makes it the same as old ck in terms of gem combinations. The creative part of this fight is non existent again

@jaki1876 the fight should be balanced by default not by "oh dont use this intended item that totally breaks the fight" You dont need to save pan flute for anything because getting a new fresh one is as simple as using deconstruct staff on it...

Os canhões é só uma impressão minha já que normalmente você ainda teria seu grass raft após a fase do gelo, mas nos meus testes é raro o graff raft ficar vivo agora depoisd essa fase, mas sim teve uma melhora na IA das garras, mas acredito que ainda precisa melhorar mais

I've never tested this, but sometimes the generations of the world make it spawn very close to the main island, or the pearl, so maybe it's possible
