At this year's D23 Disney Convention in Anaheim California, Disney released a new Limited Edition Legacy Obi-Wan Kenobi Lightsaber box set that was exclusive to only the convention visitors. In this video I will be reviewing the new Obi-Wan Kenobi Galaxy's Edge lightsaber, and also comparing the sounds and design to the other Kenobi lightsabers from Episode 1 and the Kenobi Series on Disney plus.

You can find way better Obi-Wan lightsabers at secondary stores than anything Disney does. None of those 3 in the box set are screen accurate. Try out websites like Korbanth, The Pach Store, or Roman Props. Roman does the most screen accurate Luke and Obi-Wan sabers. They actually reproduced all the original parts that were used to make the lightsabers so their the closest to screen accurate as you can get. Disney might be slightly cheaper, but paying a little more is well worth it. Good luck!

Was lucky enough to be at Disneyland the last few days. Walked into the lightsaber store yesterday to get a couple kyber crystals for the saber I made. Had no idea what everyone was so excited about. Now I'm out $600 but have #60/3000! My first lightsabers!

12:10 There is definitely a difference in activation there. The Ep4 one sounds much more like the OG 70's sound, whereas the TV series saber sounds like Ep3.

Great review! If only they would make these sabers more accurate. I've always found it so strange that fan saber-makers can make sabers that are far more screen accurate than Disney/Lucas officially licensed sabers are. But oh well, I'm still glad they make these sabers available. Most people aren't as crazy about accuracy as I am. haha

Hey Brandon, Thank you very much for the compliment. A lot of people say the same thing, I have come to have a slight appreciation for them, I think they are larger because they’re making them more versatile to use the same blade and also probably keep the cost down so most people can afford them.

That ANH Kenobi saber looks fantastic. Great effort to stay true to its original 😀! I’m still collecting away, not as easy in the UK to be fair, and I’m yet to open my Force Fx elite Vader one which only landed yesterday. Like you, there is not much more enjoyment to be gained other than lighting up the room with a saber 👌🏻🤷‍♂️🤣! Happy days!!

Great video buddy keep up the good work the episode 4 a New Hope version is definitely my favorite I love the way with the increase weathering the darkness to it it reflects its owner Obi-Wan at that stage he was weathered he was seasoned and he was prepared for whatever was coming his way but he was at peace no matter what even in the face of his own demise but it's an awesome saber great video keep up the good work God bless and May the force be with you

I went to the expo all 3 days and never a rsp for the limited edition marketplace. Totally bummed I didn't get the obi wan set. Last day of the expo a friend told me the obi wan hilt set had been moved down to the regular expo store and you could walk in and get it. They had about 50 boxses sitting on the floor with no sign or display. I was able to snag one box. Made my day! LE #1307 Cool set and thanks for the review!

It’s a shame, that’s not the correct grenade grip for episode 4. Also that little ring fan around the thin neck part that’s also the wrong design and the length from the top of the top to the grenade grip is completely wrong. What absolute shame. Disney just not paying attention to the actual details of episode 4 Lightsaber. 😢

Hey TCO. I know we already chatted about this, but Disney is definitely not known for making replica style sabers. I think it does a good job capturing the essence of obi-wan's episode 4 Saber. And you can't find a saber like this anywhere for an average of $150 😉👍🏻

@@FindingTheForce I wouldn't have a problem getting one of those if they became available. I also have the Obi-Wan black series FX saber. It's funny, it shows old Ben on the box, but it's really a replica of the ep3 Obi-Wan saber. I think mine might actually be a MR saber. The original price sticker on the box says $99 Dollars, I miss those days.

That's insane that Disney did that. It is great how they made a really good and arcuate Episode 4 Obi Wan Lightsaber. I hope they make some Sabers based of some legends characters such as Starkiller, Revan and Mara Jade. Congrats on 30 thousand subscribers. I hope the episode four one can be soon sold separately and I hope they make Anakin's Sabers. May the the force be with you.

Problem is though that's it's not really that good & definitely not accurate. Way too big of a hilt, the blade is way too small to match the hilt, sound is terrible, the lighting effects are bad. You're pretty much paying a cheap price for a cheap lightsaber that you have to keep buying batteries for. Are they ever going to get a charging hilt?

@@FindingTheForce I mean, at least on the elite one, its supposed to be with the wires and that facing up, because you can se the detail and that, and also because if you use the "belt clip" as the "stand" it might fall, thats why it says on the elite one to use those holes that the saber has on the bottom, idk how to explain it lmao

I’m old enough to remember when they premiered the original trilogy on TV for the first time, it was a big deal, but yeah, technically I am a prequel era kid! With the button on the side of the Ep IV Obi-wan saber the original prop had both the transistors (buttons) and aviation washers under them. During filming it was dropped and the front button assembly came off and the washer was lost. I built a MHS series hilt of the Obi-IV and spent weeks researching all the production images for weathering and those buttons specifically. I figure that if I'm going to make that saber, I needed to be as dead accurate as possible.

The Skywalker Boxset 287/3000 Ahsoka Tano Boxset 3972/8000 Temple Gaurd Boxset 1491/3000 Anakin & Obi Wan Boxset 3170/10000 Obi Wan Kanobi Boxset 0953/3000 I think they are lovely presentation sets to collect for display.

I have a feeling Disney will release the A New Hope saber as the one available by it's self at the parks. Probably continuing to have the ROTS/Series saber as the bundle and we know this is probably the last time we're going to see the Episode 1. It just seems like a very weird roll out for the Obi-Wan sabers in general. If the ANH does get a single release, I'll probably have to track one down. I'm happy with the ROTS one, but I'm an OT guy at heart, so the ANH saber hits me right in the feels. Now I'm just wondering how long before we see an actual bubble strip ANH saber for Luke.

How similar is the Obi-Wan E4 saber and Luke E6 saber? If I remember correctly they reused or repurposed Obi-Wan's saber for Luke's new saber in RotJ.

The a new hope version has prequel clash sounds and the tv series has original trilogy clashes? Lol and their activations are a little bit different

Hey Gerrit. I totally agree with you, I went back and listen for it and was kind of sad to hear. They probably used those clash sounds for the first Saber and didn’t want to reuse them for the a new Hope saber. 😕

Would've been nice to hear some new sounds,all those sounds are from stock files,aside from the TV series deactivation. I mean,nice sabers but the sound design is lazy

Hey Lucky, I know what you mean, although since Obi-Wan was one of the first characters in the movies, he does have a very traditional lightsaber sound.

The Epi IV hilt is a huge disappointment. All the proportions are way off. The grenade section is too short and the emitter is ridiculously oversized. Shame too, as I was really looking forward to this release. Btw, the Vader hilt from Galaxy’s Edge also has a bubble strip.

The booster, the part between the clamp and the pommel, is also the prequel design and therefore not accurate at all.

Ahhhh... you are right about the bubble strip! totally slipped my mind. I definitely agree that the proportions are not perfect to the replica, but I think we have to keep in mind that I these Sabers are more for fun and are kept at a very reasonable price point for being a metal hilt. I don't think any of their sabers are close to the replicas, except maybe the graflex.

The original A New Hope Obi-wan saber is my favorite, but that Disney version is over weathered. The metal has too much dark wash.

My favourite Obi Wan Kenobi legacy lightsaber is the one from episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith and from the Obi Wan Kenobi series. Also I think I also like the one from episode 4 A New Hope.
