There is a great feeling of trust displayed here, the owner must trust his mules that they won't walk away when the skid loader drops the trunk on the wagon, and the mules must trust their teamster that what they are supposed to do won't harm them. For four year old mules they are amazing!

I had a pair of mules that pulled a wagon we built for trail riding. We had them so well trained that we could work them by voice commands only if needed. I sure miss them and those days. You have a very nice pair of mules. I really like watching them work.

I'm new to your channel and in the process of going through the back episodes. I particularly enjoy hearing the details about the equipment used. For example the plow setup. I would like to hear about the safety aspect and what you have to watch out for to protect yourself and the mules. Those logs are obviously heavy and I'm sure there are guidelines you observe that may not be apparent to the rookie viewer. Also, it's also interesting to learn about the care and training of your mules. Thanks for all the work you put into the video production.

This is my second video of you and your working mules. I could watch all day. So interesting. I love how your mules stand and wait for you and then all you have to do is click your tongue and say their names. Beautiful team work!! I am curious about the logs. Do you sell them to a lumberyard to be stripped and cut into boards? Also curious if you log on your own land (and father-in-law’s) or public land or ??? I love to see how our ancestors worked without all the fancy tools and machines. (My great grandfather was killed when his log wagon tipped over on him). You take care of yourself as good as you take care of your mules and I’ll be watching more of your videos. Thank you for making them.

Hello again! Thank you so much for being here and taking time to watch and comment. About the logs, I sell them to our local saw mills where they’re made into railroad cross ties, pallet wood material, and hardwood lumber. I log for whoever wants to hire me. I’ve logged some for family, but most of my work is for the general public. This tract of land we’re on now is for a neighbor of my in-laws. I am sorry to hear that about your grandfather. It is dangerous work and one needs to be careful. For sure! Anyway, thank you for taking time to watch and comment and the best wishes. It means a lot to me. Take care my friend and do come again, anytime!

Hey there! First, thank you ma’am for such kind words for me and my mules. I take a lot of pride in them and I love them deeply. I have been around horses and mules most of my life..I worked a lot of ranch horses as a teen working cattle. My granddaddy was an old time mule man from wayy back. I inherited my love for mules from him I believe. But I also have had several old timers that have helped me along by my way learn how to handle a team and train them. I mainly started working with working type animals around 2012. I’ve been in and around logging and farming most of my life. I started cutting timber when I was 14 working with my granddaddy and uncles; and logged with machines into my twenties. As I got older, I grew more curious about draft animals. Especially since my grandad had farmed and logged with mules. So I started pursuing that route. I found other guys that were still logging with draft mules and horses…and just sorta went from there. Logging is logging, whether machine or animals, the principles are the same more or less. I just had to learn how to really handle stock in order to do well logging with the animals. I’ve had several older guys help me a lot. And I am forever in their debts. Thank you for taking interest in my channel, for asking questions, and for being here. It’s always good to hear from you. After all, without you..I wouldn’t have a channel. So thank you ma’am! Thank you for taking time to watch and comment. I surely appreciate it. Take care and please come again!

Nice work, wish you lived near me, I would pay you to break up gardens in the spring with those mules. When I was a child here in SC, my great grandmother had a fenced in garden, about 300feetx 200 old black man that couldn't keep his horses and mules in town anymore, would keep them in that garden and in return would break up garden and drag it smooth in the spring. Don't know where he kept animals during summer.

So Zach had to get out of the skid loader because knocked his block off. Makes me recall the time as a kid 50 some odd years ago, I was loading an onery old cow to take to the sale before daylight, finally got the cow going up the chute that had headers across the top of the posts, well guess who forgot to duck yep me. I can still hear the sound of my head meeting the header board, again yep about knocked my block off. Yes I can laugh about it now hope you can as well Zach.
