I have been using this new 2000-point Death Guard list for my first few games of Pariah Nexus and having so much fun with it. The new mission cards make 10th edition feel so different/new/fresh and I love it!
I think the focus on bringing more battleline units to the game is a good change and as Death Guard, we have a few cool options to choose from. But anyway, I hope you enjoy the video, and let me know your thoughts on my new 2000-point list!
Here is a full breakdown of it:
Warlord - Typhus
Characters - Foul Blightspawn, Biologus Putrifier, Tallyman, Lord of Contagion (Deadly Pathogen), Lord of Virulence
Battleline - Plague Marine x10, Plague Marine x5
Transports - Rhino
Other Datasheets - Death Guard Cultists x10, Land Raider, Predator Destructor, Deathshourd Terminators x3, Deathshroud Terminators x3, Plagueburst Crawler, Poxwalkers x20
Allied Units - Plaguebearers x10, War Dog Brigand

I have yet to play any Pariah Nexus games of my own, but I've been tinkering with my Raven Guard list and the ideas I've had around Allied Battleline as well as Deep Striking units are largely in tune with the ideas you've presented here. Great insight here, mate!

It opens up so many new doors when you look at allied battleline units right! Hope you can start getting into Pariah Nexus soon :)

If the blightlords had some sort of defensive buff like a 6+ FNP that improves to a 5+ if they are on an objective they control, then give them OC 2 they would see some play. All of a sudden you have a tanky unit that is not giving up an objective easily. Let deathshroud be the hammer and the blightlords the anvil.

Congrats on your 2 wins but I'm going to be honest I'm really jealous. I've only won 2 games in 2 years 😅 maybe I'm just stupid idk 🤷‍♂️ absolutely fantastic video though I absolutely love the format it's very simple and informative 👍

I definitely lose my fair share of games too! Always try to improve a little each time but sometimes the dice just don't go your way haha. As long you are having fun, winning/losing doesn't really matter :) Thanks for the feedback!

An emerging threat that I've seen at my FLGS has been Onager dunecrawlers with a tech-priest supporting them. The upgrade of the neutron laser to 3 shots and D6+2 dmg has been causing problems. Their profile is a 2+/4++/T10/11W (160 points) and the tech-priest (60 points) gives the vehicle a 5+ FNP and heals D3 Wounds every turn. The platform is further buffed by selecting the defensive doctrina for +1 BS and the heavy keyword, cawl provides re-roll to hits on 1s, and while withing 6" of battline units they are -1 to hit in melee and the battleline unit gets a 4++. Still has the smoke keyword. Its a crazy amount of layered buffs that are relatively easy to pull off. I've been trying to think of efficient ways to break through them at range as closing with the ad-mech gunline for melee is difficult. Currently trying to run fast/cheap units close to drop the Toughness to 9 so I have an easier time with special weapons but it has been a challenge getting close and being able to focus one down when there are three on the board exposes a lot of my units to reprisal fire. Would be interested to hear how you'd approach them.

Wow, that sounds like a pretty nasty combo! I have a friend who plays Iron Hands and would often have a similar theme with tech priests buffing multiple big tanks. The tech priests also had lone op so were a pain to deal with. I found Typhus and the Terminator sorc really effective in these situations. Drop them down on their own and nuke the buffing characters. Alternatively, if you have to get through the 2+/4++/T10/11W with 5+ FNP, a 10 man squad with Bioligus should be able to deal with this if they are able to get off a grenades, shooting and melee. Having Mortarion in front of the Rhino as a decoy is also nice. If Morty does well on his saves then they have 2 threats to deal with :)

Hi Rokki, thanks for sharing your list. When I saw Pariah, my only concern was that the deployment zones are a lot closer on some maps. And I thought... How do I slow down world eaters? Must still need infiltrators like nurglings. I still have them in my list...

forgive me if i sound like a lahmen but why bring plaguebearers if your army already has sticky obj? also whats yor thoughts on Blight Haulers? im thinking about 1x3 and 2x1 squads

Sticky is more of a bonus. That main reason I have them is because of the ability to Deepstrike and the fact that they are slightly more resilient than our Plague Marines :) They also get +1 to their charge too which is awesome! I love the MBH model but I think it still struggles a bit. Main reason being that it's role is anti-tank bit all of its weapons are str 9. With its ability you are wounding most vehicles on 4s, maybe 3s if they are in contagion. I think Predators do the role more effectively

New DG player here. What’s your view about taking Rotigus or a Great Unclean One? On paper it makes sense as they’re super tanky for objective holding. Also I was thinking of taking a Huntsmen for some ranged anti tank. What’s your thoughts?

Hi! I haven't had the chance to try out GUO or Rotigus yet. They look like they would be so much fun to run and I will definitely be trying them out in future! Brigand easily outclasses the hunstman on damage output. Hitting on 2's instead of 3's really makes a difference. If I didn't have enough points for the brigand, I think I would personally prefer another Predator instead of the Hunstman. With Boilblight we can hit on 2's with them and sit further back with the 48" range :)

@@Rokkis_Gaming_Lounge Thanks for the reply mate - good advice there. Hadn’t considered the boil blight combo for a predator. I ran predators briefly in my world eaters army but wasn’t impressed because they were so easy to whiff with hits. Boil blight solves that for sure 👌

@@Makistrack no worries at all! I love setting up Boilblight for my Land Raider. Can be absolutely devastating and most people don't expect shooting to be any good from DG.

it should be noted for boilbright your oponnent need to be in contagion range of the model/unit that's using the strat, it's not that they just need to be in contagion. I see ppl play this wrong consistently

@@Rokkis_Gaming_Lounge ppl deepstrike in with a unit putting you in contagion then use boilblight on plague crawlers, which is wrong, you need to be in contagion range of the crawler as the strat states "in contagion range of that unit"

@spicybarbecue222 ah, your kinda right and wrong there. Boilblight has an activation and an effect. To activate it, you have to select an enemy unit that is within contagion range of it (this is correct). Once it is activated, any unit in your army that has the Death Guard keyword gets heavy and ignores cover when they target that unit :)
