While his father asserts their second amendment rights on KZfaq, vouches for his sons “ right to bare arms” Over and over- willful blindness to disturbed kids, bc otherwise they’d actually have to re prioritize their lives to actually be parents.

"The father of the suspect in the Highland Park mass shooting is defending his decision to help his son get legal clearance to buy firearms." This isn't at all surprising. There's been enough mass shootings to show that family members are often the ones that helped the young man acquire the guns. To add to the absurdity, the father is claiming that his son bought the guns with his own money. His uncle claimed that the guy was unemployed, so I'm guessing buying the guns "with his own money" is money his father gave him. If the father cannot be criminally charged, I hope he's sued into poverty. Here's a legislative change that maybe lawful gun owners can go along with: If you helped someone acquire firearms who wouldn't have been able to get those firearms otherwise, and you had reason to know that person had violent tendencies, and that person commits murder with that same firearm, you can be held criminally liable.

@gayluinstra13962 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I think he'd have found a way to get the assault weapons if he wanted them bad enough. Friends who were legal age helped the Columbine kids get some of their assault weapons from a gun show. The Aurora shooter had a history of mental health issues. He had even contacted his psychiatrist with a letter prior to his horrific act. But he fell through the cracks. They couldn't pin this horrific crime entirely on his Mental Health because it was thought he was thinking quite clearly to be able to plan ahead and booby-trap his apartment with elaborate explosives and triggers for when cops would be entering his apartment after his crime. He had methodically planned that out.
@grizzlyblackpowder19602 жыл бұрын
If the father is responsible for giving consent to purchase then you must agree that that the state and federal government, both of whom had deeper knowledge of his violent comments and outbursts than the father, are far more responsible. The fbi passed this kids background check through nics, and the state police despite having direct knowledge of violent statements made by him, not only passed his mental health screening, but also physically signed his registration for rifle ownership in Illinois.

It is not a "high-powered" rifle by any definition. The SUB2000 folds in half for easy concealment; the AR-15 doesn't. Compare muzzle velocity between 9mm and .223/5.56; they aren't even close. LIVING IN A CONCEPTUALIZED WORLD “As I watched and observed, day after day, week after week, month after month, even year after year, one day I had an epiphany: “Oh my gosh! Adults believe what they think! That’s why they suffer! That’s why they get into conflict. That’s why they behave strangely, in ways that I don’t understand, because they actually believe the thoughts in their head. What I realized was that adults spent a lot of time thinking, and more important than that-and more odd, it seemed to me-they actually believed what they were thinking. They believed the thoughts in their head. All of a sudden, I had an understanding of what was happening when adults communicated with one another; that what people were in fact communicating were their thoughts, and that each person believed that what they thought was actually true. The problem was that all of the different adults had different ideas about what they thought the truth was, and so when they communicated there was this unspoken negotiation, this attempt to win each other over and to defend one’s thinking and beliefs. When we believe what we think, when we take our thinking to be reality, we will suffer. It’s not obvious until you look at it, but when we believe our thoughts, in that instant, we begin to live in the world of dreams, where the mind conceptualizes an entire world that doesn’t actually exist anywhere but in the mind itself. At that moment, we begin to experience a sense of isolation, where we no longer feel connected to each other in a very rich and human way, but we find ourselves receding more and more into the world of our minds, into the world of our own creation.” ~Adyashanti, Falling into Grace: Insights on the End of Suffering

@dperry2032 жыл бұрын
Half nonsense! People think what they believe and believe what they think. You can’t say one creates the other. They are the same and what you think and what you believe is always evolving. You communicate with others “freedom Of speech” so you can test your thoughts and beliefs against others to work out where the truth is and what is reality. There is reality everyone experiences you can’t argue and then there is perspectives of it that people can experience differently but that doesn’t change the real world it only creates different perspectives to open more possibilities with diversity rather than everyone being cookie cutter robots and only one life rather than many paths and purposes! That doesn’t make it a dream world! It only becomes a dream world when you isolate yourself or prevent speech and prevent the truth from being discovered. Then you will create your own fantasy world in ignorance and we are seeing that today with woke culture and nilism! Denying fact and teaching all choices and decisions are equal and there is no right or wrong. Nature itself tells us that is wrong not only by our reap side when someone takes that to the extreme like this clown but everything we do in life has a proper way of doing it. From learning a martial art to playing a guitar. When you ignore what is the most efficient and effective way there is side effects and holes that come back to bite you. Why would life itself not have an ideal way living? Of course it does and it’s what most religions are founded on. Trying to stay on the straight and narrow. Going off it is the definition of sin and staying as close as possibly to that path creates the most rewarding and meaningful life. But believing there is no wrong way takes away any responsibility or blame when you fail and you can blame all the side effects on the millions variables and distractions in life so you don’t have to actually do anything about your problems.

Failed Parents. They are literally subsidizing Evil. Notice they never made him WORK (which adds responsibility in teenagers and builds character). Failed Parents are breeding nothing but more suffering. We need Parent Control.

@@redbloodedbutterfly What about the school shooter, he had thousands of dollars worth of guns and ammo and apparently a nice vehicle? Plus, most places will only sell you ammo when you buy a gun, and it's usually a very small amount of ammo, so how did he get all those rounds of ammo?

@@outsidetherealm91 The truck the kid used in Uvalde was stolen from the family member he killed I believe. It was parked in his own driveway and he had access to the keys is what finally came out. He did have around $4,000-$5000 worth of gear he supposedly purchased by himself. A lot of money for someone working 20-30 hours a week at a fast food job.

And that's probably where most of this stemmed from. Being bullied as a kid over his looks. Tormented. In no way am I justifying. Just saying. People who do these horrible things usually have been.

The result of Failed Parents, obviously. He should have been made to get a haircut and WORK, from about age 13.

That is not an AR15 style rifle. I think the family was in denial that the young man was a problem.
