I'm very happy about this, I love Dig Dug and generally play the Vic version which is great. Just bought this revival version for 64 and look forward to playing it. The 'randomised map' feature sounds like it'll add to the fun. Thanks Doug.

Okay, I just played it and I have to say that aesthetically it's perfect. Perfect sound, perfect visuals. There's just one little thing that you can't do that you can do in regular Dig Dug. In the regular game you can leave a little sliver of dirt between yourself and an adjoining tunnel, and poke your pump through to nab a passing enemy. This has the side benefit of making them have to change form and slow down to reach you. In this version, you're not able to poke through a little sliver of dirt like you can in other versions.

I've been very impressed with LC Games! The BagMan and Tutankham remakes are especially awesome. Favorite arcade conversions on the 64: I'd have to say I spent the most time with the Atarisoft Ms. Pac-Man conversion growing up, with Mr. Do and Tapper coming in at 2nd and 3rd place.

Given the age of the Vic20, and the fact that it doesnt even have bitmap graphics, I’m amazed at what some games can do. PS: Would love Vic20 content!

Probably, as I think back, the arcade port I played the most on the C=64 was Gyruss. That's another game where music is important. I notice tLC-Games has a really excellent looking/sounding Windows game inspired by Gyruss caled DIVOC-91.

these remakes are brilliant, more effort has gone into them.

The lack of the intro and level complete music on the OG C64 version was criminal. It's awful. Luca's games on the other hand, are incredible. His Bagman conversions are better than the original in my opinion, and Ladypac is brilliant. This port is about 98% perfect. Easily the best home port now. Thanks for the video, Doug!

Great video Doug! Always love when you do some reviews on your channel, have you consider doing some other new games as well? Pig Quest, Zeta Wing 2 etc..games that really pushes the breadbin! 😀

If Doug says I'm really going to dig this game, who am I to argue? ;) I have always enjoyed the Atarisoft version of Ms. Pac-Man, it feels pretty darn close to the arcade version. Gyruss is pretty sweet, too.

I recently discovered the C64 "Ghosts 'n Goblins" remake from 2015 -- have you seen it? The sprites were redesigned to be truer to the arcade, as well as the level music, title sequence, and level order. I never liked that the original played the same tune through the entire game and the tune didn't sound like "Ghosts 'n Goblins" either.

Luca Carminati must be a very talented programmer, so if u read here, please do a good C64 or Amiga version of Rolling Thunder my favorite arcade game of all time, and I think one of the best arcade ever, The conversions that i think i played the most back in the days were Tapper and Rolling Thunder on the c64, and Silk Worm and Dragon Breed on the Amiga (i think this 2 are even better then the original arcade) PS: I know c64 Rolling Thunder is absolute shxxxxit, but i so much loved the arcade in the bar i went to play, that when i saw the c64 conversion i thought it was fantastic, just growing up i realized it was so bad, but i enjoyed it none theless when i was a child. PPS: another conversion I remeber I played a lot on c64 was Galaxy, a galaga clone, there where 2 versions perhaps with different names, one made of petscii charachters (a version originally made on the PET) and one with pixel graphics, both versions were equally supet-good PPPS: on Amiga i forgot Rodland conversion by Storm , perhaps the best 2 player game I remember on Amiga and absolutely one of the best arcade to computer conversions ever in my opinion
