The New England Mountains are calling! Expansive Worlds is excited to invite Hunters to explore the peaks of the New England Mountains, a new alpine reserve and the latest DLC for theHunter: Call of the Wild.
Coming to PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store as well as on PlayStation and Xbox on December 6, 2022, for 7.99€/$, the New England Mountains reserve gives Hunters the chance to explore and relax in stunning surroundings, hunt for 3 Great Ones, including the all-new Moose, and customize their weapons with unique New England Mountains-styled cosmetics.
Covering roughly a quarter of the state of New Hampshire, as well as portions of Western Maine, the White Mountains in the northern Appalachians served as the inspiration for the New England Mountains reserve. On the uplands and through the trees of the New England Mountains, Hunters have a wealth of wildlife to hunt - from the humble Ring-necked Pheasant to the sneaky Coyote and the majestic Moose. Speaking of the Moose, this gentle giant is now present as one of the extremely rare Great Ones alongside the equally giant Black Bear and the graceful Whitetail Deer. Not only do the Moose and Whitetail Deer have the Great One status in common - along with the stunning Red Fox, they are also among the three beautifully refined animals, who now look better than ever.

@@elite6848 Well they've been focusing on improvements rather than the map so yes, it is relevant with backfilling. Also I personally don't like hunting on mississippi, so a new map for those animals is good news for me!

I’d like to see something different like an arctic map. I work across Nunavut in Canada's Arctic and talk to locals about hunting often. The animals that they hunt include: -Polar bear -Grizzly bear -Caribou -Muskox -Wolverine -Arctic Wolf -Arctic Fox -Arctic Hare -Walrus -Various species of Seal -Various species of Whale -Various species of Ducks and Geese -Ptarmigan There are no trees up there so a map from the area would be fairly easy to design (I imagine) yet beautiful and unique. It would be best set during late springtime. And if a map without trees would be too bare with animals at a distance popping into view out of nowhere as well as not being able to sneak up on game and stay hidden, then perhaps instead of foliage there could be hills, cliffs, boulders, snow drifts, Ice chunks and mist for obstacles. Could have short vegetation that would allow you to be hidden when prone too. Could have a ski-doo instead of a 4 wheeler as well.

This is one of the biggest cotw updates ever. Adding species to old maps (for free) takes a lit of work. They remodeled some species like the whitetail and fox perfectly, and last but not least they added the best Great One this game’s gotten to date.

All maps except for two are getting animals that already exist to repopulate them some more, weapons can customization is coming, and other things.

@@2002Archer I feel kinda weird putting a comment but I live in Kentucky and hunt here. Year round. When deer season comes, they’re no leaves on the trees. They’re on the ground. That is 1 thing I’ll never understand. You aren’t gonna be hunting deer when it’s dead in summer. But yes, Kentucky would be the best map they’ll have if they make it set in late November.

Wow the new reserve is so beautiful and the landscape with the beautiful red leaves of autumn it is so stunning. I really like the music theme of the New England Reserve because it gives a good peaceful and emotional atmosphere. You can tell that EW are very good at choosing the right choice of music. And the new 'great one' moose is very beautiful with their different furs colors when I saw it in the last 2 livestream with Jaxybeard also the new design of the red fox fur.

Can’t wait, And the best thing about New England is - NO BISON. Two thoughts can we make the map show the direction the hunter is facing without a lodge or the dog being the same color and making it hard to see? Lastly every time I have to switch reserves, I have to think about what calls and ammo and rifles I need and spend time recreating load-outs that Ive done over and over again. Loadouts that we can save and bring up would be great!

Perhaps the next DLC could be one where you focus only on making real improvements to the game: -Real blood tracks -Less guaranteed need zones -Animals (birds) hiding in trees -Boats -Retrieves/pointers -Weapon Presets for different maps!!! Now when you change a map the first 15 minutes is organising your backpack! -Updated ballistics (most rifles have ridiculously low penetration atm) -Updated decoy bird mechanism, current one is just really primitive -Updated caller mechanism (make it so you can and need to change the frequency and aggressiveness of your calling to match the animals current behaviour) -Remove/revise the warning call mechanism, most animals never do any warning calls These are just some from the top of my head, the game could be good but its currently like CoD or something with a poorly designed inventory. And yes i know different people focus on creating new content and new mechanics, fire half the content creators and hire twice as much mechanic creators, mechanics after all are what makes the gameplay. Oh one last thing, hire atleast one person who actually hunts.

Alright I'm gonna say it, I really wish there was a map based off of parts in Asia, like I've been dying to see an Asian map in Call of The Wild. Some terrains on the map can be open fields and some can be Jungles, and plus, there are so many animals in Asia that can be added into the map.

I think would boar feeders and bear barrels be a good idea I think in the next soonest update/dlc needs to be retrievers and pointers for finding your upland game and rabbits as well as bedding them down. Retrievers are necessary for geese on hirsh and rav please Ew

Yeah, I'd love a reserve like that. Make it something like Pleistoscene Park with mastodons, mammoths, ground sloths, dire wolves, saber tooth cats and short faces bears. Maybe add some Irish Elk or Glyptodons into the mix

@@kailsdkitten Weapon customization, Moose great one, new Whitetail model, most of maps will have a new animal.. like Pronghorns to Rancho and Wolves to Medved, new harvest screen, waypoint markers when using binoculars, and I think they added a new weapon. there will be 15 animals in this map, no new animals except one bird that I can't remember it's name😅 and it will run on 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox now.

I still keep up this pattern and really appreciate all of you who made this game. I just hope you all can see this and work towards making these ideas possible. I only wrote this because you’re all pretty open to ideas and listening to your community and so please help us make this game an absolute banger for decades to come.

Every new map has the same animals. They should make a brand new map is South Africa exp adding velvit monkeys, bushbuck, eland, waterbuck and so on.

I have a LOT of hours in this game and I will likely buy this one too. The thing is... some VERY basic quality of life stuff is still missing. 1) Like the possiblity to *save a specific loadout* (maybe 1 per map or 10 different slots - make it another DLC, I would buy it) 2) The dog should be able to retrieve on his a category 1 harvest in a range of 150m (maybe make it a top tier ability) 3) The hunter level and skill tree should go up to 100 and you should be able to unlock ALL traits and skills (even if the grind to get there is brutal - we don't mind brutal) 4) There should be a *1 to 3 or even 4 category bullet* in the game, maybe give it to the air bore rifle (it would give it some versatility and more people would use it - make it another DLC, I would buy it) I have more suggestions but this would be a good start Customization and paintjob options are cool but not a priority in my opinion.

i agree with all your points but the bullet one just isnt going to happen with the way class 1 works in the game and i dont think they'd totally overhaul a decently important and large mechanic just to add a couple of ammunitions

I am excited, but I just really hope we can leave North American for the next couple reserves, it has been a little while since my jaw has dropped with the announcement of new species, probably been a year to a year and a half, and I'm pretty sure you guy coukd manage that every 6 months with the flood of ideas and the talent you have clearly displayed. But, I do have to say that you for creating such a beautiful and enjoyable game

Ya I just got on it and seen one of the covered bridges and there not like the ones in Alabama the ones in game have metal roofs in Alabama which are the one of the only parts that still argnil are made of bark that is made into shingles and water proved but glad they invented them and the polmer tips are apsulet the expansion is better now at lest on animals that you usually get one lung and tell people that you can let people on multiply player see your way poits you go to the multiply player tap and tap on there name like your going to mute them and it will say allow to see way poits it works I yoused it I play on ps4 so I don't know about PC and Xbox but it is a feature on ps4 at least

Looks great, but i bet this Update\DLC is in response to The Way Of The Hunter, since the graphics are updated and some of the animals are reworked throughout the entire game. I was wondering when The Hunter The Call Of The Wild was going to respond back and it looks like we got our answer.
