@TeufelHundenDocMac
@TeufelHundenDocMac 9 жыл бұрын
Im sure someone already commented on this but the reason the rocks are splitting is because you are using river rocks. They have a little moisture in them and when they heat up the steam generated can cause the rocks to explode. Its best to use other types of rocks for this. Cool video though.

@BallisticBBQ
@BallisticBBQ 9 жыл бұрын
Southern Coastal Cooking ™ You know what. Surprisingly it wasn't that bad at all. I just peeled off the seaweed which was burned by the time I cleaned it the next day and it came off in a big mass. Then I put the rocks in my Weber chimney and dumped them into a bucket. I was expecting pain in the butt, but it was actually pretty darn easy!

Son of a Sunny Beach, you Guys! What an outstanding and creative technique that didn't melt the Weber! Perhaps you can make another show about that, and really melt one down, ballistically! ;) If you guys had shown us the eating of the lobster, I'd have to recall my thumbs up vote on the tasting poll you recently did Greg, just too much torture for a hungry human craving seafood... You guys really make it hard to decide which state, or who I'm going to move next door to when I retire! ;)

Good work, Greg and Gary. This was a great video, and I particularly liked that it was a little bit of deviation from your normal burger and steak fare. What happened to the seaweed? You should toss that through some sesame oil and sesame seeds and make the perfect Korean style side dish. Don't throw away seaweed!!! Love it! Great video. Never heard of Gary before, but I will subscribe to his channel.

Greg, how many bags of the sea-foo-weed ') did you use for this? And if you had done shrimp, would you have put it on at the end so it wouldn't overcook. I'm thinking of adding shrimp and crab legs.

Looks good Greg! I do crab boils all the time so this will have to try next. Question... when you rehydrated the seaweed did you use salt water as if it was coming out of ocean? Thanks
@BallisticBBQ
@BallisticBBQ 9 жыл бұрын
waynef100 No, just fresh water. The logic I used was there is plenty of salt in the dehydrated plant already and it seemed to work out great. The water actually took on a salty seawater taste and my the air smelled like a real clam bake while we cooked.

LOL! We're starting to look like a Nascar pit-crew huh!!! One of the things that has happened to KZfaq now that it's been around a while is certain circles have grown closer. The outdoor cooking community is pretty darn close and I talk with other KZfaqrs on the phone almost daily. We also have a couple Facebook groups where we chat. Pretty cool thing. I started wearing the button downs simply because they look sharper than a t-shirt and they last longer. I think some of the other guys are going that direction as well.
