I still think of Epiphone as a bit of a half brand in itself. Its history is too strong to be Gibson's cheap brand. I'd get a Fender over a Gibson every day of the week, but I'd get an Epiphone over a Squier.

@@ParallaxRS Definitly. I hope this is the begining of Epiphone being able to do their own thing a bit. It being "cheap Gibsons" is what i've mostly had a problem with. I thiink it's great that they make more affordable LPs and stuff, but i hope they'll also be able to do their own thing

My pride and joy is a white Epiphone Wilshire with a batwing headstock. I like sparkling clean sounds that can then be run into a pedalboard - and this does the trick in a most beautiful way. The pickups are pure 60s Epiphone mini-humbuckers that ride the line between Gibson humbuckers and Fender single coils without the noise. Jimi Hendrix was known to play a Wilshire as it was one of the guitars in his collection when he passed. The only downside to it is a painted gloss neck that is a bit chubby - but I am not a modern shredder - and I quickly found that for me anyway - it was an easy adjustment - my hands don't sweat - and I play differently with it than my Squire Strat. My Ibanez accoustic dreadnought is my favorite guitar - but my Epiphone is my favorite electric. Good to see more folks are finding out about one of the oldest American brands and a secret favorite of many pro-musicians. I have been playing my Wilshire for over 12 years and could never see myself selling it. I bought it from a local music store - and the salesman thought the guitar ugly - and sold it to me for a hundred bucks - I saw my model listed in Reverb for 600 recently - and was gob-smacked. All it does is make me appreciate playing it more. It was the smartest purchase of my life. I love Epiphones!

Agreed, those finishes, no pick guard, and fretboard binding, make them look classy af. Check out the almond metallic finish if you haven’t, I think that’s what I’m ordering for my birthday this year. Also side of the body for the jack!

I've been looking at 5 to 700 dollar ( Canadian priced) 6 string electrics for a few years now. The Epiphone Les Paul Muse is the first one I've heard that checks all the right boxes. Great neck, great pick ups, coil splitting and a blend knob, Grover tuners, set neck, nice colours. I'm in. Woo hoo.

Apparently the Gibson brand is more focussing on the good old days, Epiphone is going modern. Smart move. I think this will appeal a lot more to the younger generations, also pricewise.

Love the new Epiphone line up. They are definitely bringing more to the product. The headstock looks so much better and that passion purple is killer looking. The tones sound great, pickup splitting, phase control are nice features. Danish Pete is an incredible musician. He really knows how to demonstrate the clean tones, light breakup and crunch.

I feel like Namm this year was about providing a more boutique feel to guitars in particular at a very affordable price. Hopefully the QC is there so they can build some better rep, these are positive steps in the right direction imo. (But if they go back to their headstock im down with that lol)

Man, finally an SG I'm in love with! I always hated red and black ones as I felt they were trying to look like the devil. And not that that offended me at all - more that I find it tacky and also a very passe facet of Rock. But this purple/pink thing is a thing of gorgeo beauty!

my friend's epiphone les paul and all the other les pauls are great but they always make a buzzing sound which is alright but for recording it's a big nono, is the buzzing a thing? wires are grounded and good quality cables are used (no buzzing when used with other guitar brand example Ibanez and different interfaces have also been tried)

Bought the SG muse in the wanderlust green color. Installed a chrome JB in the bridge and some Grover rotomatics. The guitar was already great but now it sounds and feels so good that I’m going to get another and do the same mods to it.

The new head stock is a subtle change, but looks great. The ES style head stock on the SG and LP just looked wrong. This is squatter. Looks more proportional.
