I can’t blame the company for making their own, they saw there was a market for EU style masks over the ugly shiny version and they filled the niche that people wanted. Hopefully funworld takes notes and starts making them again

I probably sound callous here but I really couldn't care less. This hobby has gotten prohibitively expensive and it's not even fun anymore because the fans keep paying outrageous prices, which encourages scalpers and con artists. FunWorld wants to complain about how there are bootleg masks being sold, well maybe they should have done more to release the 25th anniversary masks properly. Hardly any places had them and the few places that did got bought out by scalpers charging outrageous prices. The fact that standard EUs cost a hundred dollars now is an insult. There are so many millions of them floating around, it's just a classic example of scammers ripping off fans who don't know any better. Until the fan base puts their foot down and stops paying a hundred bucks for an ASIS, these bootlegs will keep getting sold. It's a Ghostface mask for what they actually should cost. Like you said, I'm not sure why they aren't still making the EUs. Ultrawhites *SUCK*. Soapbox rant over, but I'm really embarrassed at how bad this hobby has gotten. You can't enjoy it anymore unless you have money falling out of your ass.

The scamming part sucks but I think every other aspect is great, because people like myself who just wanted a good Ghostface mask that isn't an ultra white, these come in clutch. They are high quality masks that look great, though getting scammed with one of these if you're looking for an authentic EU mask is unfortunate.

This is like comparing a mandarin orange to a tangerine. A Chinese mask is a Chinese mask. We currently live in a world where a cheaply made Chinese mask from the 90s is now selling for $100+. These "bootlegs" are just evening out the score.

The original looks better in my opinion. Finally got my hands on a 25th anniversary mask for $20! Was not paying the $800 that eBay sellers ask for!! It’s crazy people scamming those who don’t know what these masks should go for. It’s so annoying that these scammers are getting these masks to sell for quadruple the price. Thanks for educating us.

I should've just kept my EU Ghostface I bought for $50 in 2020. It's insane how much they are all going for now. It would be nice if EU molds came back in mass production and re placed the ultra white at Walmart and other retailers. Yeah I know the 25th exists, but I'm not paying $150 and up for a Ghostface considering how basic it is compared to something like the Michael Myers mask which i spend good money on from indy artists.

I recently became a Ghostface fan (Maybe a few months ago). I was very unsure about which mask I wanted to get, so I bought one that looks similar to this one for around 10 USD. To me, it looks ok. I do however have a bit of an expensive Myers collection. I hope as I learn more about Ghostface masks I will be able to tell which ones are the best and perhaps upgrade my display.

I see that many hate the ultra white and their points of view are understandable, I have one and the truth is I am satisfied with the purchase I made because I was able to use an original Funworld product for last Halloween, although it is true, it has its defects such as dents on the head and also one side of the chin protrudes more although I have tried to fix them, so I looked for a new mask based on the Scream 3 model, but to my surprise I found them too expensive even if they were used and when I found the copy of I didn't miss out on this opportunity and bought it. I recently received it. It's a good economical option, although I have to say that it also has its flaws.

At the beginning of my research I bought one and I got reimbursed by managing to find an official one, but by some miracle, I received it anyway. I gave it to a friend who is not as interested as me but despite having it for a short time I can see the difference. I smelled it and it's true that it smells horrible. At the moment I only have an UltraWhite and a 25th Anniversary April-June 2022 (i.e. it's in poor condition) so I'm still looking for one last good one that will satisfy me and not cost me an arm and a leg and a leg but without getting fooled with a fake (either a happy 25th birthday or the one I love) but what I can say is you're right. The UltraWhite smells less than the 25th Anniversary and yet the smell was still good. I like to feel my masks. I can't wait to get the last one I'm looking for. Love your vids, boss. I agree it sux people are using them to rip people off. These Aliexpress masks are great cosplay on a budget and excellent for customizing and modifications or rehauls. Better than ruining a vintage or licensed mask in my opinion.

bought a fake one because its almost impossible to find an affordable good condition real one, thanks to hoarders and ppl like u holding on to multiples of the same ones boosting the market up. i literally wanted one gen 2 real mask but thats too much to ask for apparently, been trying to get one for literally over a year and half and im not willing to drop $200+

So, I bought a couple Ghostface masks off of Amazon. I was super surprised when they came in. They have the Fun World Cardboard backing, a tag with date stitched in them, smell sweet and have the nice thick vinyl. They were only $10 a piece. Am I missing something?

Here I have such a ghost face mask from Aliexpress , because in Russia the original masks from the fan world are not sold, but I like such masks with Aliexpress, they are very high quality, only there are disadvantages like the original ones, these are yellow spots, blue stripes (apparently these masks were squeezed out at production) the paint is not reliable painted, that is, if you scratch the black paint, then scratches will remain (white latex will be visible under the paint), but you can repaint, and so a normal mask, I would still like to buy the original if it was sold in the markets in Russia.

I own a bootleg EU and honestly the shape of mine looks very vintage and almost Gen 2 like. The material of my mask is really thin, and compared to your knock off mine isn't as white.

I bought one of these to use it for cosplay without worrying about my actual funworld masks to get damaged by the convention wear n tear, that strong chemical smell goes away after leaving them outside for 1 or 2 days, after that they will basically smell like ordinary rubber.

That actual style from fun world they did accept that weren’t defects are already released I believe I have two coming in from crypt keepers and I spoke to the manager himself and he said they have the originals coming back this year for about $15 🔥 I have my tracking number already and receive them this Friday!! They should look similar to those I believe, tagged of course and from fun world

My original mask from '98 is ruined from cigarette smoke, my second one from 2005 is in rough shape too. So i bought a new one for this upcoming halloween.. i bought it from a costume website, said its authentic, we'll see, the price seemed too good to be true haha

Its why I just waited to get my official 25th mask but like I said in the center of the mouth the paint is faded some already x.x Not sure how to really fix that safely. Looks like they just used acrylic paint or something

My ultra has a pretty good vanilla smell to it but id have had my hands on those bootlegs. I still smell what I can only describe as toner ink if it were burned.

I’ve gotten one with a tag and the vanilla scent and it’s not flimsy.

Can anybody explain this problem I have with Modern Age Ghostface Masks from 2022? I just bought a 2022 scream mask and found this. Why are some tags on them the exact same except for the 1 PC part? The 1 PC part is Missing on some. Does that mean that it’s not official and that its a bootleg version? Someone please help me I don’t want to buy a fake one.

So I bought a Scream mask about 6 months ago or less from a Halloween store and my paper tag that was attached to the shroud says Easter Unlimited Fun World, has a tag and all that jazz, but underneath the mouth on the backside isn't there supposed to be an Easter Unlimited stamp?

These are good masks for cheap that looks good, however, it is unfortunate that collectors are getting tricked into thinking these are actual official masks. I have one of these, buying it knowing it’s a bootleg, yet I still really love it with how nice it looks imo. The only bad thing about these masks is that it’s causing scams, otherwise, it’s great as long as you don’t mind the fact it’s bootlegged.

I purchased it for what it was, the AliExpress EU and I’m very happy with it myself. Get a crappy ultra white for like 20 something dollars? Or get the EU knockoff for like 12? I’ll gladly take the $12 knockoff with the knowledge of what it was. Hell I bought like 5

The original ghost face mask wasn't called ghost face it was from fun world and it glowed in the dark and it was around way before scream. I was the ghost face character in 4th grade for Halloween 1994 2 years before scream came out. I got the mask and a black cloak separate as a grim reaper costume. So yeah if you want a true original it's a glow mask from fun world

I believe this may be the same scenario as what is happening with a lot of NECA figures. These “bootlegs” are using the same mold and are even often made in the same factory by workers realising there is a market to sell them off privately. Having worked in a facility like this the tag makes the item a “finished good” in which case it is accounted for, before that it’s like taking candy from a baby to “steal” these masks. It’s cheaply made in China. The “real” one is cheaply made in China.

The viper is a totally different mold that’s more accurate to dead by daylight. I have a few if you need a pic of them .

It’s funny I actually have 2 of them for $20 each my first one is the one you have in your hand and my other one is kinda ugly looking it’s so floppy and one of the pieces of cloth is stitched wrong like one is to short while the other is where it should be but I don’t mind cause I don’t like the ultra whites. I looked this up on aliexpress and it looks like FunWorld already had them removed. It’s Kind of a shame because I wanted to order a couple for a Scream fan film I’m planning to make in the future that involves Scenes with blood and I’m kind of scared that if I used my ASIS mask then it might get stained. I was also hoping I might get lucky and get one of those dirty ASIS masks that FunWorld rejected. Oh well hopefully this will show FunWorld that people would rather have EU’s over Ultra Whites.
