The idea for using the pitch buttons in pitch mode is actually brilliant!!! Would be a huge time saver!!! I use an android app to do these very same calculations (semitone pitch to bpm).

Another Old Problem i wanna mention: There should be a forth option in Bitwigs settings for “Default stretch mode” called “On using the stretch tool”. Otherwise, Alt+Drag is rendered completely useless for Short samples, which for many producers have Strechmode=RAW turned on when importing them! It’s a highly inconvenient workflow to being forced to manually activate a stretchmode, to be able to use Alt+Drag again for RAW samples.

even Polarity is hinting to the developers to change the design theme, it seems it will be like a new meme like in its time with MSEG, which was added after a long time😂

Bitwig kann es leider nicht mit den Loops, hoffe die kommen noch dahinter, wie es andere DAWs machen. In Ableton, Cubase oder Logic kann ich einfach einen Loop nehmen, vorhören und reinziehen und es klingt wie es klingen soll, ausser ich mache entsprechende Anpassungen. Bitwig kann das leider nicht, warum auch immer. Es ist dasselbe Problem, was Logic hat mit dem MIDI Vorhören, die können das auch in Version 11 immer noch nicht.

Yes! Please add the pitching by semitones feature. Speaking of pitch, am I the only one who wishes you could easily pitch a sample by semitones in the Sampler? Sure you can do it with the pitch button, but you have to be precise since it moves in cents by default. I just want to go in increments of semitones!

All of those suggestions you make would be very welcomed. About the tempo button, I think it's always a hard choice for developper to add or not one element in a minimalistic layout policy. It made me rethink about that not so well known feature, bitwig can divide values in most parameters, i.e. a delay 800ms/4 become 200. But it doesn't accept + - x *. This was a very nice idea (totally not intrusive on the UX side, easy code, useful for power users) and should be developped further and deployed everywhere. Here on that topic of tempo, it doesn't even accept the / calculator which work on many other places

Wish they’ll fix those random stretch markers being added when importing loops. Sometimes it does it sometimes it won’t, but I have to manually go to the stretch section and delete the stretch markers manually, despite typing the correct tempo, the markers will assume tempo changes and mess it all up 😭

when you import a sample in repitch mode, and pitch is grayed out, I think you fix that by just bouncing in place, then it's available.

Hey @PolarityMusic, great video once again! Have you tried using the new BMP range select option to force tempo detection to the higher speed where you experienced that it would default to half the speed in some cases earlier?

Worth noting that the popup for the Wavetable options only appears on the Polymer version. In the Grid version, you get the options in the inspector. I think the assumption is that the Inspector options on Polymer are for the overall device and not its modules, which leads to different problems like being unable to update the resonance limit of the filters. I take your point generally, but in this instance I agree with them and want them to do a similar popup for the filter modules, Filter+ and Sweep+.

3:10 When you right click on a sample with different bpm than the project, you can click on "set project tempo" and it will apply the sample bpm to the project

Repit h mode should've had semitone/octave b mode so long ago!🤞🤞 hope they listen!!!!

I think the popup is kind a preview or pre construction of building your own gui one day ..maybe with 6.0 ? Because in the Grid it is in the Inspector. But if we will be able to build our own GUI like Polymer and put everything in the inspector, like e.g. 100 Settings, you would need a second scrollwheel for your mouse ;) However it is for accessibility like screenreaders a nightmare.

Bitwig's ability to correctly detect tempo of even the most simple 4x4 tracks has always been absolutely horrible. So much that I resorted to importing audio through Live first... :(

Last year I made a lot of mashups. I don’t know how many hours I spent manually setting stretch markers all the while thinking I shouldn’t have to do this in 2023/24. Not tried the new tempo detection, hope it works well!

does it work in Ableton? - in Ableton the pitch transpose is also not available then the sample is in Re-Pitch mode

Bitwig is still my favourite DAW, but I'm patiently waiting for them to fix the broken MIDI export. I hope they get around to it soon! Perhaps more seriously, I recently had a to-and-fro with my mastering engineer when I was finishing my album, because of a weird distortion on my mix that I hadn't noticed before submitting it. It turned out to be Bitwig's render. I did some experimenting and couldn't trace it to any particular third-party plugin. It just seemed to happen sometimes at random, though it happened less often when I rendered in real time (which is currently my policy, to reduce the risk). I haven't had time to report it to Bitwig yet, but I wondered if anyone else has had this problem? I'm on an M1 Mac Studio, by the way.

Same thing happened to me here. The Valhalla DSP plugins used to create some really weird artifacts when used in an 'FX Layer'. I'm not sure if it still happens.

Been plagued by this problem on my current project on both Win and MacOS (M1). My solution was/is basically render as many channels as possible to audio with only native devices and the bare minimum of super stable third party plugs. When I reached out to support they also name dropped Valhalla and said that they and other devs plugs don’t report latency or some other data, correctly during the rendering process. Major downer when you are a heavy Valhalla user 😢

Basic stuff that should be fixed they didnt fix them ,the latency issue with the eq+ even alone on a track it create phase issue ,another thing is the waveforms are not helpful to see the audio like reaper or ableton,and god why there no vertical zoom why ?!! this is just a basic stuff , final thing also is the bouncing in place or bouncing audio is changes the waveform even though there no Fx on the chaine !!!
