Ryobi and Bosch guy here, with Ryobi you have to pick and choose. Yes the HP series is a welcomed upgrade because e everything is brushless. However, their tools are suited for jobs that don’t involve masonry. I’ve used Ryobi to mount power stations, TVs, furniture repair, drilling holes in concrete walls for anchors, mounting towel racks, detaching metal shelves from the wall, etc. But I would never recommend anyone use a Ryobi rotary drill for masonry projects. That’s when I defer to my Bosch.

But why compromise with a compact model? I have the full-size brushless impact and have been using it daily for work as a mechanic for two years. I use the 6 amp batteries exclusively, snd only once have I ever encountered a bolt that I needed to step up to my IR 2235TiMax pneumatic impact to remove. My big Ryobi surprises a lot of people, and its performance shuts the mouths of the Milwaukee fans pretty quickly.
