some bikes have lots on links in their linkage design, giving them the effect of high pivot but the pivot not directly connecting to the frame

My old Turner DHR is set up to run either 24x3 or 26" on the back- it's a fun goof around. With the fork also fitting those sizes, I can mullet/reverse mullet or run level at two different bb heights just for grins.

The ability to swap wheel sizes with ease is not as new as you think. The old Marins can accept a 27.5 with no issue (we're talking around 2003 frames). The DMR bolt can have the dropouts swapped out for 9mm vertical, 9mm horizontal, 12x135, 12x142 and the important one, a set of dropouts which moves the rear axle back by 8mm which allows the use of 27.5. The Bolt is capable of comfortably being set up for 26, 27, 26/27 mullet, 27/29 mullet and, if you're mad, 26/29 mullet. I'm certain many other frames both old and new are capable of taking multiple wheels with minimal upset.

I can't believe they named it "supernought"! That is so lame. I mean, you got "Druid" & "Dreadnought", names that invokes thoughts like witchcraft, mighty, destroyer of trails, etc. Then you have "supernought"..... yeah! Super!

I just installed a set of WTB HTZ wheels that have wide rim sidewalls. The hope was to be able to ditch inserts but I pinch flatted a brand new rear tire immediately.

A high pivot bike is a bike that has an extra chainring above the ‘standard’ placed one. it can help chain tension and suspension kinematics.

#askgmbn It seems to me that all shock pumps bleed air from the suspension, or seatpost when you unscrew them. Surely schraeder valves were designed for a clip on pump lever and the threads are there for the valve cap. Why don't we use presta (high pressure) on suspension, and if we're staying with schraeder, how do we get the correct pressure in these tiny reservoirs... Seatposts especially!

every motorsports suspension uses schrader. the escaping air is from in between the pump and the valve after the valve has closed

Exactly, but why?! I'm sure it's leaking from the reservoir as well as the line. It only takes a time leak to drop a lot of psi.

I don’t know if it’s necessarily true that all pumps bleed air after pumping. They do before pumping, so if you’re reattaching a pump to check its pressure gauge, keep in mind the bleed from pressurizing the hose. Manually check your sag, that’s the only measurement that matters.

I'm a Canadian and I like to encourage local businesses but Forbidden bikes are way too cheap on the used market. Something smells fishy lol (Or maybe they're just way overpriced from the start?)

#askgmbn Dear GMBN crew. I have a question i hope you can answer. I have a 2009 ironHorse mkiii elite which I've fully upgraded. The only rhing i cant find is a dropper post. My post is an old school 30mm anf i cant find this size fir love nor money. Do you know of such a size or would a 27.2mm with a shim be possible? Hope you can respond. Thanks❤

If you get a 27,2 mm dropper post, you get seat post adapters to 30,9 (essentially a long shim) for little money even from well known bike component brands. You can easily find them over google etc

Wonder why they bothered to tool and mould all the difference size chainstays, when it would be much simpler just to machine a size-specific adaptor that bolts on. Kinda weird to have both systems, a marginally different length frame and also a hugely adjustable dropout system.

GMBN is mistaken. The rear triangle stays are the same; the difference comes from the front triangle

@@smin4089 GMBN is correct, the new bike has different rear triangle and adjustable drop out: "Forbidden's latest Supernought has a 20 mm adjustment range in addition to size-specific rear-ends"

@@chiliishot GMBN are indeed wrong. The chain stays and seat stays are the same on all sizes, the rear centre length change (ignoring the dropouts) comes from moving the BB shell forward in the front triangle molds

A step in the right direction : "However you feel about" ... Ultimately changing front / rear centre it's just not the same bike factually. Just stretching the top tube makes any review in a different size increasingly pointless. Let's face it for years before you two were presenting there was only one criteria for any bike and that was reach on a XL...
