I used them for 3 years. One thing for sure is that this is the most comfortable headphones out there( I wear up to 8 hours daily). I also wear glasses and these are the only headphones that didn't cause pain after lengthy use. I'm not qualified to judge on sound quality per price, but comfortability? there's nothing better that I know.

"Sensitivity" in headphnes is not measured in ohms. Sensitivity is headphones is measured in dB/mW.

I can only talk about the K92, they are meant to be closed monitors for musicians. They are the standard in recording studios (maybe not as the main monitor, but for multiple musicians, that's why they are affordable as in a studio you need multiple sets, think of an orchestra or big band, or simply 4 or 5 musicians). Their purpose is to monitor people who are singing or playing, because they are closed, therefore let the users listen to themselves without too much interference from outside and they don't let too much of the sound escape from them and enter the mic (on the other hand for mixing open headphones are recommended). They are quite neutral not to give the musician a false or better impression of how the sound is being recorded. They come with a three-meter cable and a 6.3 jack (there's a 3.5 jack but the adapter is screwed, just in case you need to plug them in a 3.5 port, but that's hardly the case), obviously hanging a long wire is not useful if for phones, but very handy in a room where musicians should be away from each other, or a musician who moves while playing the guitar. They will sound better if amplified from a proper headphone amplifier. They aren't made for phones, nor are they for listening and enjoying the experience. They are flat monitors and good ones.

@timhoneycutt31387 жыл бұрын
these arent expensive enough to produce a signal that isnt colored, im curious how the frequency response would look like on a full band view based off of the driver size mentioned. If someone is knowledgeable about headphones to estimate what frequencies might be cut/boosted due to the structure or better yet if someone could find documentation or test the headphones that would be greatly appreciated

I've owned a pair of K52's and yes they are durable however I broke them (my fault by yanking the output cable like 30 times from my PC until it finally gave up on me). They sound great and are really cheap, you won't find better sounding headphones for the same price, no way. I haven't tried them with an amp but I'm pretty sure they'd sound even better then.

Benedict Payot late reply but how do you like them? I've been curious
@benedictpayot7 жыл бұрын
fiendishshape Hi! They've been good. They are my go to headphones in the office, and when in at home as well. It's recommended for people with big head sizes(like me) because the headband is smart-adjusting. I kinda wish it has a shorter cable though. I sometimes want to use it during commute but the cable is too long. As for the sound quality, it provides great sound and good amount of bass (vibrates on your ear) but somehow distorts on extra high volume. It also provides good noise isolation and the sound doesn't leak. Hope that helps. Cheers!

Disappointing... nothing for general audience; and I hoped for sth like a k701 with stronger bass :V
@shadoraeveon93128 жыл бұрын
They're called reference headphones because they're meant to be used for reference, they're meant specifically for people who either use them while in the studio or while listening to playback of either something the're playing live or to make sure there isn't any errors in something they've already played, any bass, mid, or treble boost/cut would make them worse for their intended use.
@coma-body-stilllife5 жыл бұрын
These are not ref headphones lol. They may be advertised as such, but I wouldn't recommend anyone mix with these unless they're desperate. There's a very large cut in the high mids and low highs.

A crappy series by the China based factory of AKG. Had bought a pair of K92s from Amazon but returned them in 2 days owing to improper or _lack of_ definition in it's low mid and low ranges. I'd rather get a pair of other cans instead.

i got 2 pairs of superlux. the hd 681 and the hd 681 evo wich both are very good. both superlux got the equal sound quality but the hd681 is a bit cheaper and mor comfortable. but if you compare the superlux to the akg you will notice that the akg got a way better build quality and also the sound is more detailed. so it depend on the price how much you like to spend on a pair of headphones.

This new type of AKG headphones are literally "Crap" from every point of view and sound. THE classic "Made in China" materiaI built with poor quality. They are worth less than half of what they cost, are only good for making a Christmas gift to some person of little consequence. (They are beautiful to see them only in pictures but to touch them they gnash their teeth as pure lemon juice). DO NOT buy them, you throw away in'utilmente money, better headphones for about 12 Euro.

+Luigi Lugnani I tested the K92 against my closed headphones(for work) K240 MKII, K171 MK II and K172HD these sound fantastic and I used headroom to measure the frequency response very flat I can also hear no bass distortion or treble distortion, have you actually listened to these? maybe you got a bad pair? in my opinion if you are an audio engineer then these are a must buy for this price point there is nothing better maybe Fostex RPMkIII NOTE These will give you exactly what the sound is, that includes bad mistakes in mastering that is what these are used for so we can identify mistakes in mastering, if you want to use these for non critical listening then I suggest a good mastered track with high bit rates. also burn them in for about 50 hours will help general listening

The quality depends on your budget. its "Made in China" doesn't mean they are crap. Lots of high quality headphones like DT770, 880 and AKG 702 are all made in China. You'd better increase your budget instead of complain.
