@@yesterdaystech86 S23+ too big? I chose the S22+ over the S22, despite a much higher price, as the S22 is too small so useless to me. For example, typing on the S23 is not an ideal experience. Same for watching videos. Or reading text. Etc.

@@yesterdaystech86 Despite a larger battery capacity, Samsung has managed to keep the weight of the s23+ below the industry's psychological limit with its weight of less than 200 grams. I think s23+ will be a much better choice than s23 in terms of battery size.

Thanks for reviewing the S23+! I don't really feel the need for the Ultra, I think most people will be satisfied by the regular S23 (including me :) ) But I prefer bigger screens so this S23 Plus is the one for me! 🙌🏻❤️

I agree with you that the S23+ seems to hit the sweet spot; and with a small increase in battery capacity it might do quite well. I currently have the S21 Ultra and I rarely if ever use the S-Pen (Granted, the S-Pen isn't built into the phone), I really don't take pictures that much, and I'm not crazy about curved screens.

Not to mention with the combination of the smaller screen and better chip set, it may actually end up having better battery life than the Ultra. And as a guy who plays a'lot of Pokemon Go, Genshin Impact, listens to lots of podcasts, and KZfaq videos while I'm at work; that's super important.

I'm grabbing the S23+, coming from an S8+, now only if the S23+ had the 200MP camera, that would've been great; or hell, give both S23 models a 100MP camera. The S23 Ultra's size is far too massive + the pen is just useless for me to justify getting it, just for the sake of the camera.

Since I've seen and touched all the lineup in store, I can say that S23+ is the one to buy if you don't like small phones and bigger ones. Imho it has the perfect dimesions.

I do have S22+ and exept Exynos Im happy with that. Yet due to S23 globally having Snapdragon and in case of S23+ bigger cooling system, Im really tempted to get this one, even tho I have my S22+ for few months. Also the green color is perfect 👌

I'll upgrade from a S7 to the S23+ as long as battery life is very good. Here in rural Australia the S23 series have Telstra's "Blue tick" for superior voice coverage in rural areas. Virtually no other brand of mobile qualifies for the Blue tick.

@@nksnikhilsingh I use my phone in a lot of rural areas of Australia where mobile coverage/signal is poor. A lot of people have good coverage in cities. Telstra is the biggest mobile phone network provider in Australia. On their website, they say they test all phones they sell on their mobile network. They also say, "The Telstra Blue Tick is the mark we give phones that are certified to give superior voice coverage in rural and regional areas. This means the phones were rigorously tested by engineers in our purpose-built facilities, before being taken to rural areas to confirm the results with real world testing. Whether you’re on the farm, in a rural area or just want to make sure you’ve got the best opportunity for coverage, look for the Telstra Blue Tick."

I'm on s21 ultra and I love it to bits. S23+ looks nice and for the first time in ages middle model looks and feels as decent as the ultra, previous s and s+ models weren't really on the same level with ultras.

Definitely going for the S23 Plus, but I guess they were really pushing the S22 Ultra over the S22s and so only brought the new design now. Only issue is that the design is a year late and even their A14 phone for 2022 already incorporated that design.

I just pre-ordered my new S23 Plus 512GB phone. Since I am in the UK I've pretty much been stuck with Exynos on their flagships, so I am quite excited to see that Snapdragon is being used on all the flagships everywhere. This is the way it should always be. I bought a S22 Plus a few months ago but ended up trading it in as I just wasn't happy with the performance. It felt sluggish, the only thing I liked was the camera. The last time I used Snapdragon was on a S20 FE 5G and that was buttery smooth all around!

I bought the S23+ yesterday. Amazing and that camera is mind blowing. I had Note 10 three years ago and switched to iPhone SE 2020 because I wanted to try Apple so didn't buy the expensive iPhone. A year later, didn't quite love the ios features. I'm glad to be back with Samsung 😄

@@PokeLoomerTM only downgrade for me coming from the S20+ is screen resolution but I very rarely watch anything on my phone over 1080p anyways and it still at least maintains the 120hz refresh rate. Everything else for me at least is a upgrade. Better looking design. Better build quality with victus 2. Faster ram. Better chipset. More storage. Better camera. Extend my access to 4 more years of updates. Bigger battery which would also be more efficient with snapdragon. Faster charging speeds. Better speakers (hardly anyone is talking about this). Better Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. I typically change phones every 3 or 4 years and most times the upgrade is quite noticeable once the phone is in hand.

The boxier shape of the phone body is more comfortable to hold which avoid the phone from slipping from your hands. The floating camera design shouldn't be a bothering problem, unless you're obsess with a phone lying completely flat on a surface. Which is weird if anyone is obsess with the idea that their phone should lie flat on a surface.

This is an interesting take. I thought of it as a Goldilocks model as well, but after watching some other videos discussing the value you are getting for $1k compared to other $1k phones it really made me question if it's worth it at all ... 1080p display in 2023 for $1k?? I will wait for full review on battery life. If the S23 can hang and be as impressive as a Zenfone 9 in SOT I think that may be the best fit

@Fabi Maybe you can't tell the difference, but I could definitely tell a difference in sharpness between the two. If other phones that are hundreds less have 1440 it's disappointing a flagship of one the leading brands in the world does not. Especially considering Samsung S5 had 1440p! They've downgraded what should be top phones to drive people to the Ultra

@Fabi L take, I don't blame you, I would assume you haven't daily drive a 1440p phone for years, at a glance you can't tell the difference, because your eyes is used to mediocre quality, but for people that has been using 1440p phone for years? Oh I can tell the difference right away, I envy people that content with 1080p, I wish I could lower my standard, but it's too late for me

Zenfone 9 4300 mAh vs S23 3900mAh. Zenfone 9 consideration on cooling has vapour chamber, Samsung known for overheating no consideration at all. Sd8+Gen 1 isn’t too different than the Gen 2 in terms of efficiency cores. I say Zenfone 9 better battery, not to say S23 won’t be good enough compared to S22.

I still havent found a reason to upgrade from my s10+. It does everything i need. I guess some people need to feel extra spoiled knowing they have the "best" but i enjoy getting the most from my things.

Still rocking my s10, only upgrading to s23+ because my led display is going bad and I get the upgrade for free with trade in. (phone has been dropped from 20 ft onto concrete, has been run over by car, dropped in snow, and dropped from my pocket or lap countless times. I'm surprised it even still works.). If it wasn't for the fact that my screen is going bad, I'd keep this phone forever. Never felt like I needed more than what this model offered and tbh even with the screwed up screen, the phone still runs with minimal lag.

I agree here but took the bait on a trade-in for my almost 6 year old S7 (32GB) to the S23+ 512 GB for almost free (+ activation and taxes). I can't see this as a mistake (I hope....)

Upgrading from an S9+ as older models no longer receive important security updates. I agree, there is nothing wrong with my older phone, after 5 years it still works great but personally, I don't want a phone that isn't secure 🤷‍♀️

@@iconr6racer It’s a bummer cos I love my S9+! Like you, I like to get use out of my things, I don’t see the point in upgrading every year it is so wasteful. Depending on which model you have, it looks like support is being removed for the S10 this month. So you may be in the market for an upgrade too :(. (Google Which magazine phone security support, they have a list which says when phones will no longer be supported, it’s really useful) :)

I've noticed a dead pixel in the display at 3:51 which would really annoy me. I really wonder why modern displays seem to have such a problem with dead pixels. When I got my Samsung Galaxy Book Flex I also had trouble with this. Would you recommend the Galaxy S23 though?

I ended up getting the S 22+ last year but after a week I returned it because I know you say the screen is good enough but I was coming from an S 20+ and the screen wasn’t that sharp so yeah they make really bright beautiful screens but on the screens that size are really could use to be for 1440

I just happened to be lucky or unlucky depending on your viewpoint to look at both phones at the same time and now I can’t unsee the difference. Most likely really really most likely you’ll be very happy with the screen no one makes screens better than Samsung I just wish the S 23+ came with the 1440 screen.

I have the s20 plus. I run it at 1080p to enable 120hz refresh. The pre-order with larger storage does make up for not having expandable storage however the lower 8 gigs of ram just bothers the crap out of me. I am just going to hold off and see what other phones come to market.

Great. I love the cohesive line up omg - Finally. I like the round corners and storage space on the + I have another + and liked it. Will think about the 23+. I like the colours on cohesive line up. I love the ultras but they are just way too big for me.

S23+ does not have S-pen support at all. So why or how would that work? The ultra is the one with S-pen capabilities.

What I want for Samsung later phones 1. Combined telephoto lens for both 3x and 10x ( adjustable focal length lens ) 2. Larger vacuum chamber for better cooling 3. Combined wifi module and internet module 4. Better ram management ( for now , it easily takes 7 GB ram without heavy usage , using S21U exynos varient now ) 5. Unlock Good lock for all reagion or implement it in OneUi

of course it uses as much ram as it can, why shouldnt it? you dont need more ram because of this

Ram must be used as much as it is possible in order to make the phone faster. 7 out of 8 is efficient. 1 gb free doesn't mean that the system won't have enough ram for heavier tasks. If they occur the system will just delete older cached files in order to make space for the current ones. As it is very fast memory freeing up space takes nanoseconds

Looking at this from the S22 Ultra. I broke wayyy so much tempered glasses with the curved edge to the point that I just want to change my phone lol. Too bad they didn't keep the white color! I like how symmetrical the front looks

@@milannikolic3215 depends on your usage. I actually find it kinda big and would prefer a 6.5-6.6 screen. I also thought that I'd have more S-Pen use cases, but it's good to have when you need it

Man I know how you feel. I like the AM Film temper glass protectors and ran through 6 of them this year. Typing on a cracked screen right now because I don't feel like ordering more lol. The flat display on the S23 and 23 Plus is looking real tempting right about now.

I prefer the s22+ design, I didn't mind the camera bump, in fact it looked beautiful. The s23+ looks vanilla, there's not much difference between the two devices. I'd go for 22+

Honestly ring camera design from the s22 ultra brought to the non ultra I don't know it just doesn't suit the s23/s23+ its looks good on the ultra but not the s23/s23+ however I wish they can flush in the cameras fully that would be an exciting design change and modify the front can't belive the s23 ultra still has the chin while regular and plus got rid of it last year and would also like a 95% screen to screen body ratio as besides a smaller hole punch the s23 ultra from the front look similar to the almost 4 year old note 10+ with slightly less curved which doesn't make the s23 ultra look newer because the more curve looks premium while flatter displays don't look as expensive I wish they don;t reduce or ever get rid of the curve the s21 ultra and s23 ultra are nice balance the curve is so subtle that u never get accidental touches and it doesn't ruin your spen experience its a nice in the middle giving u the premium feel but almost being flat and helps the device stadn out

I have s20+. It is a good phone but it suffers from burnt pixels (shows me the shadows of home page icons on every window I'm on… ). Does this problem exist on the new phones? Should I upgrade? Thanks

@@stormsekules9935 I would do it, s23+ has the best battery of even the new lineup, yes you will loose some zoom and screen real estate but the new features and form factor will also be there.

Yeah it should. The answer lies in your drone app that you use. It shows which phones are compatible, and a brand new phone would obviously be compatible...

The S23+ truly is the goldilocks phone. The S23 Ultra is too big, bulky being a square cornered phone and not to mention expensive. The S23 standard is too small. But this one is the perfect middle ground.

The square corners on the Ultra are exactly why I bought the Plus instead. The Ultra looks old, and those are pretty sharp corners. Depending on how you hold it, those corners might make a difference. It has everything I need. Love it

Looking forward to hearing more about the S23+, as I have zero interest in the Ultra. I wish the S23+ was a bit more in between the standard S23 and S23U size-wise, but oh well. Looks like the whole line-up is shaping up to be much better than the S22 generation.

It is in between though. The s23plus is designed that size because it fits great in most peoples hands, and is still larger than the average phone screen. Any bigger and they might as well just call it the ultra and get rid of the plus altogether.
