It's been nearly 2 months in the new house and I'm finally getting the Saber cabinet array all set up. I walk you through my thought process on how to install these cabinets and show you how ol' Matty has learned a thing or two since my last Saber cabinet install 5 years ago. Thanks to Tommy, Jeff and Kyle for lending a hand.
Total Retail for this setup, including freight shipping: $13,775

There's a another channel I follow. The Car Wizard. He got his Snap On tool cabinet at a discount. But he did say that he's had his for years and it's being used in a professional repair shop. Everything is still level and working smoothly. Buy it once but it will be a high price for this quality level.

The silver looks awesome. So does the floating trick. The only problem I would have with a 30 foot stretch, is that I would end up with two sets of tools so I wouldn't have to walk so far to get something. I'd have one set of tools on the left half of the garage, and another on the right half. lol

Matt when a tapcon doesn’t grab stick s pice of copper from some romex wire in with the screw and it will grab. Also sds bits since they wear slower than hammer drill bits will prevent the hole from getting smaller as the bit wears and prevent tapcons from breaking when the hole is too tight
@Patrick94GSR
@Patrick94GSR 3 жыл бұрын
I think I might have used a deep scanning stud finder, or possibly even a thermal imaging camera to find the vertical grouted cells in the block, usually every 16” (every other cell, with rebar inside). Then drive the tapcons into the solid grouted cells with plenty of hole depth to grab the fastener, as opposed to the thin wall of the hollow block cells.

Gorgeous set up keeping off the floor. Perfect for keeping everything clean and nice, but also the cabinets read as really nice volumes. Lovely. Get a pass on the scheduling of the cabinet before painting, but I know the feeling of wanting it done. Plus, a good painter will blend everything nicely. Price: Super well priced, I say. I have interior cabinets here at home and the studio that cost twice or more because they are made in the UK. These are lovely. The cottage garage might need this for sure. Thanks for the videos. Lovely work.

The best part of cabinet install is smashing the wall with a hammer to find the blocking haha. Cabinets cover up the damage.
@Assassinator237
@Assassinator237 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes if the tapcon bit gets too hot it warps then warbles the holes. When drilling 50+ tapcons it’s good to have extra bits. The screw will have a harder time catching at that point but sometimes the dust inside the hole will make up for the warbling and give a tighter fit. Another possibility is if the depth wasn’t fully drilled once it bottoms out it renders the hole useless but you would probably realize the problem running into that error

I will also add it differs on which part of the cinderblock you hit and whether or not it is reinforced. Some homes I come across stick rebar through and fill with cement for added strength

I noticed that you staggered the upper cabinets above the lockers, how much offset was that? If I'm looking at the specs correctly from the countertop to the bottom of the wall cabinets would only be about an 18 inch space, is that the reason for the offset?

Matty what kind of set up is Adam going to have in his new super compound, is he taking his from the unit he is in now and just rearranging it or is he having something like this Saber Cabinet Array. Also you showed a speaker at the start and now I don't see it. Ace work though I think this does look better than the Sonic but I notice it is all fixed and with the sonic kit you have moving boxes as well as fixed.
